$8.57 HBD interest for the January of 2022 (2022.01.28)

in LeoFinance2 years ago

$8.57 HBD interest. It feels very weird and very exciting to write this down, because my pension-like income for my multiple disabilities is approximately only $250 USD per month, and even if I count the salary of my four hours per day packaging part time job, my total income in real life is still approximately only $470 USD per month, while the local minimum wage is approximately $550 USD per month.

Currently I have $967.08 HBD in savings.

I keep sticking to my RV plan.

My plan is to buy and start living in an RV, before the next winter, so within 9-10 months (before the October-November of 2022), because I cannot afford rent on my own. I live with multiple disabilities under the local minimum wage in Hungary. I can financially get through this winter thank you to the help and the support of the Hive blockchain community, otherwise I would be homeless again.

Nowadays the cheapest RV in my country (in Hungary) is around $3000 USD, so I need to earn/receive save approximately $2033 USD in 9-10 months, hoping that the lowest price of the RV will not go up in this time frame.

But of course anything can happen in almost 1 year.

Thinking more deeply about this, I trust this platform and its community, because I already received a lot of help and support from its users. This platform is literally changed and changing my life. So I hope the best, but I also prepared for the worst.

The best would be if the European Union would do something against the financial discrimination in my country (in Hungary). Many people live (survive) with a much less income. The pension minimum is 28 500 HUF ($88.97 USD) per month, and the government have not changed it in the previous 15 years (since 2008.01.01). Just imagine having to live (survive) with less than $100 USD per month in 2022 in Hungary. In the middle of Europe. This is why I say that many people are surviving, and not living. Even I cannot imagine what that is like. And I do not even want it. All I know is that many people live (survive) in deep poverty. Most of them do not even have electricity. Most of these people are in the countryside, like me.

Either way, as always, I am very grateful and very happy for every help and support I receive.

I feel very fortunate/lucky to have electricity and mobile internet, and be on the Hive blockchain.

Thank you so much to everyone for every help and support.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Something just crossed my mind buddy.
If you buy an RV can you drive it? Or will your lease a plot or a part of someones plot?

The reason I asked is that we are currently having a storm here in Denmark, not sure how a RV would handle that if it couldn't be moved to a better location, just in case.

If you buy an RV can you drive it?

I have not tried driving in practice so far.

Or will your lease a plot or a part of someones plot?

The main point of living in an RV (at least for me) is to avoid paying high (or rather any) rent, so I am probably not going to rent a plot.

The reason I asked is that we are currently having a storm here in Denmark

Fortunately/luckily, other than the cold temperatures in the winter, we very rarely have extreme weather.

not sure how a RV would handle that if it couldn't be moved to a better location, just in case.

I do not know either, but if the weather gets really extreme, then probably temporarily putting the RV to a covered place (for example to a garage) would be a good idea.

Do you mean that you cannot drive? Can you get insurance on a van with no driver's license there? Maybe I misunderstand. Well, anyhow, maybe in the interim, while you are saving up, you could learn to drive if that is possible for you. (You said you have multiple disabilities, plus learning to drive requires time, effort, and assistance as well as, often, lessons, which cost $, and I don't like to assume that all of this is possible for you. I certainly find it frustrating when people advise me to do something I cannot do!)

I hope your dreams become reality soon. By the way, what are housing prices like there? Would purchasing a small home be within reach? It is not for me wheres I live because the prices here are insane.

Edit: @cwow Thank you. Yes. I was addressing @xplosive. Sorry for the confusion.

I think rhis was for you @xplosive

Wow thats hard, I know how many hungarians live on the edge of poverty and even starvation. I see a lot of homeless people from Hungary in Vienna, since it has been made impossible for them to stay alive on the streets in Hungary. !LUV
Keep creating content and you will soon be able to buy that RV

I am usually not calling big accounts to leave a vote but I am sure @nathanmars will do a little hive love work because I know he has been in your shoes and worse.

Thank you for the huge support and for the kind words.

Feels good to know that someone in Austria (or anywhere outside of Hungary) is aware of the situation in Hungary. Hopefully more and more people will notice the sad reality in Hungary, and maybe one day the situation will change for the better, and the people will have normal/proper lives.

I also give you some !PIZZA and some !LUV. Have a nice day and have a nice weekend. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Congrats. Well done.
You can only get something out of your situation through education and by sharing this knowledge.
Thank God for the Inetrnet.

One blockchain is a start but you should look into other projects too.
For example Anchor Protocol on Terra; you get for UST nearly 20% per year.
https://app.anchorprotocol.com/earn

And look to get info about the Cosmos airdrops.

I have not heard about these so far. I will take a look at them.
Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Woot! Go for it @xplosive! You keep blogging and interacting and we will keep watching your progress with great interest! 😁😁😁😁😁

Right so RV instead of Sailboat? I must have missed the change over. But that's great. I was worrying about the boat and disabilities and wondering if it would be safe.

Anyway. Keep going! You can do it!

Yes. Maybe I have not wrote a post about this, but I wrote a few comments about it. I could not maintain a sailboat financially. Thank you for the support.

Ah I see! Great! You have something else to post about! 😁😁😁

Nowadays I usually post about urban exploration in Szolnok, Hungary, and about Splinterlands, while I talk about my situation and my plans in various comments under various posts on the Hive blockchain.

Maybe your country is too expensive! Hehe. What can you buy with that $8.57 right now?

I could buy... 2kgs of chicken... or 9 loaves of bread. Lol

I dont know what else to compare it with?

Basically food hs the same cost as in Vienna where the average person is earning over 1k in €
Hungary has the highest VAT in the EU with 27%
If you go shopping in Hungary some say you go pay taxes

That's hectic.

Yeah one euro is R17,40 in South Africa. I can buy a a good quality loaf of bread for R14.99.

Sometimes I hear what things cost in euro, dollar and pounds and then I don't feel sad for living in a 3rd world country.

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst, keep your head up boss

I hope you can achieve your goals. By the way, how is this HBD payment calculated and distributed? Is it paid once a month? If we keep regularly adding to our savings, does it get reset or something?

The interest is paid monthly in HBD savings. The current interest rate is 12% APR (annual percentage rate). And as I know, the amount of interest is calculated continuously, so there is no reset.

Oh have you decided to swap from a sailboat into a RV? I think you can expect 1% a month right now so your HBD next month should be at least $9. So you are definitely making quite a bit of progress.

Oh have you decided to swap from a sailboat into a RV?

I wrote a few comments under various posts about the plan change, but probably I have not wrote a post about it. I changed it, because I realized that I could not maintain a sailboat financially.

I think you can expect 1% a month right now so your HBD next month should be at least $9. So you are definitely making quite a bit of progress.

If I also count my HBD earnings, then maybe it will be above $10 HBD next month. We will see. Nowadays I am transferring almost all of my HBD rewards to savings.

Thank you for the support.

Well, hbd has a stable value, so that's kind of different. But personally, i'd convert those to hive and use them to curate. It's more yielding (in percentage).

I believe that @xplosive is in a dire financial situation where he even put 0.005 HBD in Savings that he could risk HIVE losing worth in the future. Regarding curation, he cannot be online several hours a day to read interesting and meaningful posts before curating them.

Have a !PIZZA.

Yeah, I did acknowledge hive's volatility though.

Maybe @xplosive would also invest in HIVE (Hive Power) instead of HBD if he isn't financially struggling.

Have some !ALIVE.

I am actually trying to build my Hive Power too.
I currently have 1213.17 Hive Power.
Nowadays my 100% upvote is worth around $0.05.

I know that you are building your Hive Power too, but in such a way that you are just not Powering Down.

Even without Powering Up HIVE directly, every active Hive user still earns from publishing posts/comments, curating content, and Hive Power inflation.

I give you some !LUV.

@joelagbo! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @savvyplayer. (9/10)

The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want.

My curation APR nowadays is below 10%. It was around 14% for a short time in the past, but nowadays it is around 7% and 10%. HBD currently gives a fixed 12% APR, so that is better for me. Thank you for the support.

That's really weird that your pension is so low.
I have been playing wheelchair basketball for years I am sure that the disability pensions in Italy are higher.
If you are looking around, you can try Portugal where Portugal taxes are very low. Besides, have a look on Fiverr or other remote working websites so you can fill some more hours of your daytime with other tasks. If I can help in any way, let me know and I will see what I can do.

Probably everywhere else in Europe.

If you are looking around, you can try Portugal where Portugal taxes are very low.

I do not know how could I afford a rent there, if I cannot afford it in my own country (in Hungary). Nowadays the rent in other European countries are much higher than in my country. They are often equal to (or even more than) my total monthly income.

If I can help in any way, let me know and I will see what I can do.

Thank you. Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

I see your point. I know for sure that in Italy many rents are much lowered for "weak classes", that's how they call it.
I was born in Verona. An average rent there was above 450€/month. BUT, I know a woman with some handicaps that managed to get one rent for less than 150€/month.

Far away from trying to teach you anything, but in some countries you can find good solutions!

hello dear friend @xplosive good afternoon
You have an excellent plan, you must follow it, until you get what you need to get what you want, I have no doubts that you will get what you want
have a wonderful weekend dear friend

We will see. Maybe there will be a better solution until then. Many things can happen in 9-10 months. Thank you for the support. By the way, sorry for the late (11 days) reply. Somehow I missed your comment.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.
