RE: Weekend-engagement topic week 24: Passions [Get paid for yours]

Well i have A LOT os passions... sometimes i think i should choose some of them and focus, but i just can´t.

  1. Painting: It's been a long time since i've practiced it, for reasons of time, but really like painting with oil, i go more for the realistic side although sometimes only paint what comes out. I recommend it to anyone, develop patience, discipline and perfectionism. This is a part of one of my last pieces ¨Equilibrio medido¨

  1. Dancing: Since i can remember i have been dancing, have been in classes from ballet, to hip-hop and tango... but what i have been doing lately is dancing socially merengue, bachata and the different styles of salsa... and because of the pandemic i have not been able to dance much, but i love it.

  2. The last one may be photography, inherited this one from my mom, who spends all of her time taking pictures, but improved it a bit with a class in college. I really enjoy capturing landscapes and objects from strange angles.

I love your passions, girl, and you stand out in all of them, I am impressed with the painting, I did not know that about you. You are a born artist. Thousands of successes for you.

I´m blushing hahahahaha thank you so much @rafaelgreen, i don´t know if i born this way, but since little i have loved it.

I can paint a house, but ask me to paint something on canvas and it's likely to come out like an unrecognisable mess. I value art though, my father was a very good artist who made his living all through life by being an artist. I have showcased some of his work, in fact back there on this post https://hive.blog/hive-114105/@galenkp/shipping-out is one of his paintings hanging on my wall.

You're a very good painter, I hadn't realised you were so good at it. Well done.

We've talked about dancing before...I love it, watching it, but hate doing it. I have zero desire to dance personally and would rather chew my own head off than dance. But I love watching it. Weird? Maybe.

Photography, painting and dancing, all three of them legitimate passions and all artistic. I'm not surprised.

Thanks for joining in. I hope you stay around and comment on some of the others.

Woooow your father was a very good painter!! I am surprised with the details of the painting, I loved it. Excuse me for asking, but did he die?

About the dancing stuff i keep saying you should give it a try with some lessons hahaha may change your mind.

And sure, i will cross by sometimes, to let people write some more stuff, this is a great interactive activity you do! I congratulate you.

My father was very talented at all forms of art. Painting was mainly acrylic on canvas, but he was very artistic all around...He could even dance, but he wasn't very good. Lol.

Dad died on July the 1st this year. He was 84 and suffered with dementia and didn't know who I was at the end. It was a sad end to what was a pretty amazing life and I miss him a lot, but he would say he had a great life, 5 amazing children and wouldn't change a thing.

I had ballroom lessons with Faith (my wife) for months and months...We went with another couple, friends, then would go for dinner after. I hated it. For me it was the swapping partner thing...Didn't enjoy that so I stopped. Haven't danced since. 20 years or more. I dance on the inside though.

How sad to read that, dementia is one of the cruelest diseases I know. I hope you haven't suffered too much! And I'm terrible at giving my condolences, so I'm sorry, if i could i would just give you a hug and remain silent.

Ballroom may be kind of boring tho hahahahaha maybe is not your type of dance. I laugh too much with your last paragraph hahahahah I can´t with you.

It's ok, many don't really know what to say - Just knowing people care is enough. I lost my cat Merlin, 3 days prior. Had him for 22 years and he was my best mate. It was tragic and hurt a lot. Then my dad. 2020 hasn't been the best of years, but all we can do is push on and live life the best we can.

Me and dancing don't mix...I dance like a retarded spider monkey on crack - It's not a pleasant thing to watch. 🤣

Visual of the year:

I dance like a retarded spider monkey on crack

Totally fricking hilarious. ;-}

Lol...Well, it might be a slight exaggeration...Actually, nah it's not, I am a seriously bad dancer...It is truly frightening to behold. 😂

I imagine something like this:

But dancing hahahahaha @bashadow @galenkp

😥😥😥😥 2020 It's really been terrible, I think that's enough suffering, hopefully 2021 won't be a remix of this year.

Well, people after a certain age get stubborn, so I won't keep telling you to give it another chance hahahaha you miss it.🙄😂 Keep dancing in your mind if you want. YOLO hahahahaha

Stubborn...Yep, good call. I won't do something I don't want to, rarely have I been made to do so in my 50 years. 😉

Afraid 2021 may be as bad as this one...The financial fall out. Besides, a vaccine isn't a 100% answer for the pandemic. It could bring more problems...Zombies maybe?

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Lovely painting and photography. I wish I could paint and draw, especially sketch. I'm not gifted that way. So I try to write to express my feelings. I saw in your photograph you captured the edge of a building with the tree leaves in the photo also. It makes for an intriguing image trying to figure out exactly what the object is.

Thanks for sharing.

If i tell you the truth... you don´t need to born with this hahahaha You can take a few drawing or painting classes and get it, it's just practice that develops over time. So, if you really want it, you just have to take classes, even if it's from youtube.

It makes for an intriguing image trying to figure out exactly what the object is.

Yeah, right?? hahahaha that´s why i like that type of photography, makes you think what it is hahahahah in this case i took it from a Trinitarias bush, I lay down on the ground and took the picture upwards, capturing the bottom of the flower.

I'll try to take a few courses and see. Thanks for the tip.

Some lovely photos along with your comment.

I'm a passionate fan of people who do these activities. This is incredible. I wish I could do something as half as good as your painting. But as the G-dog said: I can paint a house. I think that account for something. Ha, ha, ha. This was a good initiative. I think I'll end up following a lot of awesome people during the weekend!

hahahaah thank you so much!! hahahaha yeah that counts.

I see you have some wood works in your blog, looks amazing.

Thanks for checking it out. Be sure I'll be checking yours later.

Visual passion, I love that imagination plays so much a part of painting, realism can be very nice, i love the painting. The grapes look like you could just pluck them and eat.

I have never been a dancer myself, I do like watching people dance the fluidity of the movements can be quite mesmerizing.

I see photography a lot like I do painting, a photo captures a moment and a location, and is real, but is it? The eye has a lot to do with it and the odd angles and odd compositions can be as pleasing as a well done painting.

So glad you liked it! People normally like also the banana, i prefer the macaw´s face (not much is understood in the picture but I am very proud of how it turned out in real life)

Oh, do you also paint? Do you have photos?

The eye has a lot to do with it and the odd angles and odd compositions can be as pleasing as a well done painting.

Yeahh right!! Odd rocks!

I like to take pictures, but I never learned to paint. I do have a very active imagination though when it comes to seeing things that are not there.

Do you have some examples at hand?

Here is one:
baby dragon

I see the remains of a wounded baby dragon that had died eons ago. Frozen in time as it tried to crawl it's way to the safety of its mothers lair.

Really looks like a baby dragon, ahahaha i love it! Thanks for sharing.

Btw, have you seen Game of Thrones?

All but the last two seasons. I will have to wait till it is free to watch or with commercials somewhere on line. I just felt the price for the content on dvd was to much for dwindling number of episodes.

You are really talented, the painting is amazing 😍 Your passions very relaxed, entertained & fantastic. Woww, You can do both painting & dancing well🙂 Jealous, I could not be able do any of them 🤣. Photography is my passion too, your captures look great 💖

hahahah thank you!! All of them just need some time and practice... Ah! And much patience hahahaha do you have some pictures at hand?

Wow. You are not only an ass kicker, but a really talented fine artist.

I have some expertise. My first ex was a fine artist that tried to get me involved on some level. Didn't/couldn't happen. It did lead to photography, though. A way to express my self.

I don't dance. I do occasionally boogie to the music but the only living creature that has seen that is Sam and he's kept my confidence so far.... If he ever posts a video he'll be back at the pound before he knows it :)

I´m an ass kicker artist 😂

What kind of art make your ex as artist?

hahahahahahahaha i think Sam wants lo live more than learn how to record a video and upload it to any social media. Poor Sam btw.

Her degree was in fine art, and she mostly liked oils. But she did lots of stuff from jewelry (she made my wedding ring) to fabric art.

Yeah. old there Sam seems to like it here. I think he's a pretty smart doggy and knows that he's got it pretty good.

@tripode, that painting is just awesome. You have a lot of talent!!

thank you so much!! @mipiano

The painting is beautiful, never knew you could paint, really nice. I also love dancing but don't know most of the steps, I hope you will post a video of your dance someday

Thank you so much Jizzy! I will upload a video some day hahahahaha

Looking forward to that day😀
