Friday first of October marks two special occasions on the one day - It's quite momentous really as both revolve around one of my favourite things; coffee.
World coffee day
This Friday is world coffee day which, quite obviously, celebrates the magnificence of coffee. I'm not sure why coffee needs a single day in which to be celebrated because millions and millions of people around the world worship it daily however I'm not about to argue. Coffee is the best so we might as well bow to is awesomeness on Friday.
I'm not sure how one celebrates world coffee day other than drinking more coffee, talking about coffee, snorting coffee and maybe bathing in coffee...Whatever floats your boat I guess. I, for one, will be heading to my favourite café and sipping a few cups of coffee and may even stand and read my coffee poem I wrote last night:
I like coffee and making poems although I'm better at making coffee.
None of this rhymes, but that's ok. Coffee."
OK, I know it's not very good but I don't really care; what better way to celebrate world coffee day than with a poem?
My coffee posting contest
There's now only a couple days before entries close for my latest posting contest which revolves around coffee and all things coffee-shop and café related; Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, favourite cafés and coffee-shops, café food, and so on.
There's 150 hive in prizes and the contest closes on Friday with the winners being announced soon after, and the hive to be transferred immediately.
There's a few guidelines to be eligible but they're easy to follow.
If you're interested in entering find the coffee posting contest here, read the post and get familiar with the few guidelines before you enter. To be fair to all, only those following the simple guidelines will be considered eligible for judging.

Well well well, you’re a poet and I didn’t know it! LOL. You had me rolling when reading that one. And actually was quite good something I would think to see on a coffee mug of all things. Ha ha ha. I’m going to have to check out this contest just to see what it’s about. If anything it’s just fun to have an idea of something to write about. Heading over there now to check it out!

My coffee poetry is questionable at best but if one tries ones best then one is trying ones best.

Your quoting ability reminds me of Confucius or maybe even Jack Handey. Are you familiar with Jack? He was a character on SNL [Saturday Night Live]. Not sure if you guys get that show out there or not. Anyhow, the skit was him giving ridiculous advice or just saying weird stuff (not that your stuff is that strange) hehe.
Example: "Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes."
or
"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the bottom of the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams. If I didn’t drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, ‘It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than to be selfish and worry about my liver"
Yeah, we get SNL here and yeah that guy makes about as much sense as I do! 😂

Sooooo.... when you are creating a contest, how do you decide the number like the 200 word requirement. Just curious, I've never done a contest before and wondered what you base something like that on or was it a number out of thin air?
I base the 200 on how easy it is to write 200 words (dead easy) and it's a minimum word count I'll curate for curangel. I prefer 250 actually. Any less and I don't bother. So I figure people can tell a story in that many words. I like people to show some effort, especially when there is a first prize of 50 hive and 150 total on the line.
Ok... I had never thought about or paid attention to how many words I had included when I made a post. I didn't know if there was something significant behind the number or not.

I didn't know about any day like coffee day. Seems like world doesn't have enough time to celebrate the pleasures all around so a single day is dedicated to all the important things and beings like father, mother, electricity, labour, child, women, thanks giving so on and so forth.
I have been thinking hard about what I can come up with for the contest. Poem is a good idea but the problem is I am as good a poet as you seem to be (lol. It is my inference from the poem in this post). 😂😅😅. Do I need to say I am just kidding? 😇
