Top 10 Tips for Beginners to Get More Success on Hive

in OCD4 years ago

A few days ago I wrote about the mistakes you shouldn't do on Hive. So what exactly you should do here in Hive? Today I'm going to talk about it.

Crossing someone on a journey isn't an easy task. If you want to cross someone you've to be better than him/her in every aspect. Hive isn't any different than this. To find the fastest, shortest and smoothest ways in a journey you must follow some tips and tricks. The following tips can help you a little bit in your journey on Hive.

1. Come Up with A Great Title

Do you know almost 95% of the visitors will skip your content, if you can't attract them with correct and eye-catchy title? To get the attention of more visitors you need to attract them at first glance - with your title.

Suppose I am writing a content on "best android game" and I wrote the title - " Pubg is the Best Android Game Ever!"
Readers got their answers just by reading the title, why they will enter to read the whole post? If you write - "Top Android Game You Must Play Right Now!" that will attract the visitors more. They will click on the title to read the whole post.

Also, make your thumbnail attractive and use it like a clickbait.

2. Make Your Contents Readable

Use subheadings, short paragraphs, bullet points, and numbered lists to make your content more readable. Remember, you are writing on a Global platform where English isn't everyone's first language. So don't use any hard synonyms or antonyms.

Well, I'm not suggesting you change your writing style. But if you want to get lots of upvotes from around the world then make it just a little bit easier to read.

Also, don't forget to use some images in the content to make it more engaging.

3. Be Patient

You won't start earning from the first day of blogging unless you are already a celebrity. I saw A German TV anchor who just earned 60+ Dollar on his introduction post. You and I aren't a public figure, so we have to earn that place by our talent and struggle. We can't just give up in the middle of the road.

Find out what you're doing wrong! Look at the trending page's post, how they are doing it! Make plans accordingly and post again. Only hardworking and patience won't give you success if you don't add some tricks there.

4. Be Consistent

Give people a reason to follow you! Find some niches according to your talent and post regularly. If possible try to write a regular series according to your niche. Suppose, if you're a traveler than post your travel blog according to the day or part - like day 1, day 2, etc.

The main point is don't just hide after posting 1-2 contents. Try to post at least 5-7 content in a week. The more you post, the more visibility you'll get. More visibility means more followers and upvotes.

5. More Comments, More Engagement

Commenting on other's posts is a great way to create more engagement, especially for newbies. If you post at least 100 comments in a week to increase fast engagement. Posting comments will help you to make some friends and followers, which will affect your profile as well.

Target some big fish who have high HP(hive power) and make some genuine and post related comments. Make it like a habit.

But remember, don't make spam comments and only comment if you know about it, otherwise you'll look like a fool.

6. Analyze Tags

Most of the people aren't getting enough attention on their blogs just for using wrong tags. Many bloggers even don't care about the tags. I am saying this because I was thinking about tags for the last few days and analyzed most of the posts. Honestly, in the beginning, I also used some tags in my Hive posts which don't make any sense!

But remember one thing carefully before reading this article. Post popularity doesn’t entirely depend on tags. It depends on post quality, type of post, type of community, followers, the popularity of bloggers as well. But I can say that 20%-25% of post success depends on good tags.

7. Find an Active Community

Posting on the community is a great way to get more popularity. If you are an artist than find an art-related community to post your content, rather than just post it to blog using #art tag.

I am not saying that posting directly to the blog is a bad thing, but as a newbie, if you want to earn more and get more attraction than target a community and be a consistent write there.

Because according to my analysis, people are getting more engagements in communities than just posting in the blog directly. For example, instead of using #game as a main tag, people are posting more on the community Hive Gaming as posting on this community is giving more payouts.

8. Participate in the Contests

Look out for contests and participate to earn some rewards. It will help you to get some juicy upvote from contest organizers and sponsors. And if you win, you'll be known by a lot of users.

I also won an SEO contest at the beginning of my Hive journey that helped me a lot to rise in Hive. Click here to check all ongoing competitions under the #contest tag.

9. Write with Passion

I talked a lot about this in my last article. Your readers are skilled people, so they will understand if you are just writing for money. Write with enthusiasm and emotion so that readers can believe that you love what you do!

Only then your post will get some attention. Only write what you enjoy. For example - I love SEO and I enjoy writing about it. It's not always about the money, because I am getting better and better after writing consistently about my favorite topic. It's not a good idea to write about things you don't know or like at all.

10. Join in Discord Servers to Promote Yourself

Discord helps to make a group where the same minded people can chat or talk with each other and share their works and ideas. Almost all of the communities have their discord servers or groups. You can join those servers to make some new friends and promote your content as well.

Here're the links of some popular Hive community's Discord servers -

I know how you feel if you don't get enough attention even after posting quality content. I hope these tricks will help you a lot on your journey. If you're really depressed, my previous article can help you to find some motivation.

LOVE the how to guide on this one, because we need to onboard new people and get this out in the open for the masses. Sharing this on twitter because of that. We need more hive people outside of hive!

Great! Thanks for sharing this on Twitter. This type of social sharing will help us to onboard more bloggers! :)

Great guide, very useful even for people that have been on Hive for a while :)

I wouldn’t recommend whales or people with the most hive power for people to get out there and talk to. I’ve done that over time and have tried engaging with some of the biggest players on here but I’ve gotten almost zero responses or feedback from them. It’s a shame really. I would say find popular posts where the poster is talking to the ones in the comment section. Those are the best ones to go for because you can really develop a bond with them if you’re consistent with engaging them.

Great post otherwise! I’ve been finding a lot of new users and trying to guide them along!

That's why I will recommend engaging with those big fishes only, who care for small fishes. Don't waste your time on the people who don't value friendship.

Great suggestion! It's also an awesome way to increase engagement.

Great post! I'm new to HIVE and this is exactly what I needed. Appreciate the post! Feel free to check out @mindmoneymuscle and provide any feedback on my posts. Thanks!

Just checked your profile. Let me admit, your articles are extraordinary. Your niche is mainly "motivation", right?

The problem I saw on your post that you are just posting on your blog, I will suggest you to post on the community as you're a newcomer. Posting on the community, at this moment, will give you better exposure. As you can see, this article was posted on the "OCD" community.

This is just my own analysis. You can give it a try.

Just seeing this! Thanks for the kind words. Yep, motivation, informative, etc. I'll make sure to start posting as a newcomer. Again, appreciate it!

It's truly useful for me... Thanks for the tips.

You're always welcome, dear! :)

Do you have any idea as to what the difference between "hot" and "top" posts are here on HIVE?

These two options confuse me a lot like others. :P According to my analysis, the trending or top page shows the most upvoted and highly rewarded posts. And Hot page shows all recent posts which have a smaller amount of upvotes and rewards than trending page but have potentials to go on Top page.

If you look closely you'll see trending pages mainly shows highly rewarded but old post (even 24 hours old post), and the hot page shows mainly recent posts. It's kinda middle stage of "Trending" and "New".

This is my own perception, so it could be either right or wrong. Thanks for your question.

Thanks for helping me understand the difference between hot and top posts.

Great job on the How To Guide. I am a newbie to all things blockchain. This was super helpful and I will be checking out the other links in this post. Making your content accessible to a broad range of readers and being authentic in your writing are two of the most important takeaways for me.

Thanks a lot for checking out my article. And welcome to Hive! Keep shining! :)

You're welcome, @pitboy And Thank you! Have a great evening!😀
