@theycallmedan
I gotta find this clip and make it!

Wow! I feel more than happy being recognised by @theycallmedan in this recent community token talk. Thanks to the @newbies-hive initiative for shaping us to deliver better content.

Hey!! thanks for replying! take a look at the newbiez initiative I am doing for the Splinterlands playerbase!

Okay, I definitely will.

Thank you for the shout out boys and I appreciate it.

Looking forward to hearing you guys speaking at HiveFest :)

@theycallmedan @starkerz Checkout this post about my onboarding effort with SplinterLands Newbz. https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@unorgmilitia/fully-onboarding-sl-newbz-how-and-why Maby mention it next time, and see if anyone else wants to get involved.. Me and @notak have been kicken but in the splinterlands discord.

Around 1:00:00 you were talking about the El Salvador wallet and @starkerz talked about automatically sending rewards to Lightning wallets.

This is where Lightning is a bit of a pain in the arse. There is no "address" you can usually send funds. Everything is done in real time with invoices and payments which find routes at the moment you try to send them. There isn't really a store and forward system like email or a central repository like a blockchain.

The system we use for value 4 value payments in Podcasting 2.0 is called Keysend and relies on you having an online node of your own 24x7. That's what I'm running. Chivo wallets can't receive lightning this way.

They have to generate an invoice (which is valid for 5 minutes), paste that into my lnd.v4v.app page and send Hive/HBD. Within those 5 minutes the app pays the invoice and returns the change. The similar system being used for tipping lightning to Twitter doesn't work because for some dumb reason they only have invoices valid for 57s which is just stupid!

Anyway I really do need the other part which is lightning to Hive/HBD. I really think that converting Lightning to HBD on Hive could be a killer app for El Salvadorians. Work is ongoing on this!

not really connected. but kinda.

if we get hive/lightning in and out option, would not hive be great place for example an online store. you want to buy something you transfer it to hive and use it. as a seller you don't have to have a nod running 24/7, you get hive/hbd to your account and move it to lightning when you want to?

I am working on this... we absolutely will have two way Lightning <> Hive before I'm done with this!

One thing is free upvote to counter DVs (which should work well IMO) but the other is whole upvoting culture on Hive. Curation rewards cannot be only one factor. We simply have no access to data about account's past behaviour on the blockchain.

-Powered-down/earned author reward ratio.
-Self-voting index.
-Usage of voting mana.

All these informations should be seen by default on the users profile on major front-ends to avoid rewarding drains and exploiters. It would say much more than simple reputation.

There is a big responsibility coming with voting, embracing it fully may be only a value for the community.

that is a good idea, to simplify, it could perhaps also flow into the rating value

i was listening to several "big" crypto podcasts and also seen some tweets last week about web 3. Often i think Hive ticks a lot of the points that they talk about, but they pretend like it does not exist.

Listening to few of this ctt episodes (several times :D ) a theory popped in to my mind. They are all long time crypto investors or people with some capital that they want to invest and make potentially big money from it.

Could it be that Hive is ignored by all of them because there is no way for them to be early in it? (it is for sure still early, but i mean early like premine, first to get to it, ICO...)

I know/see a lot of the underbelly of crypto. I've been more & more focused on Hive as I see it having long legs in the climate to come.

The first thing whales look for is an OTC deal. This is standard in all markets and is something that collides with web3 in a big way. Web3 flips the investor's mentality upside down. Bitcoin proved this, you didn't need to hit up Satoshi for an OTC deal, and it took investors a LONG ass time to get in. Everyone asked why it took legacy investors as long as the time to get into BTC (Saylor being the "bluechip" here) - because of the above; there was no OTC or premine.

They do a premine, choke supply, artificially raise the price to ridiculous market cap, and will die via death by regulation and free-market awareness. The OTC deals will dry up due to regulation. People will realize owning a centralizing amount of coins on a coin voting system is not the responsibility they want, & that will be the adapt or die situation.

Another great episode for crypto community talk. Thank you for shout out. The goal of the experiment was to explore the Hive wallet features, which are are so unique and powerful. It is one of the biggest selling points for Hive, its Hive wallet. I hope to make this experiment more interesting in the future. Thank You.

Thank you so much for the shoutout to the Hive Cebu Bloggers community! It's an awesome help to us. We are so lucky to have an awesome leader in the form of @purepinay and the team helping out newbies in our Hive Journey.

It would be really funny if all "old" larimer projects come together and connect to something big :D

Is not project eden his newest thing?

Ya, it's an EOS DAO however. It's quite interesting with the randomization, only can join if invited, consensus can remove a person if enough agree, etc. I can see this type of DAO having merit for a variety of things so interested to see how it plays out over on EOS.

EOS sounds to me like that sandwich, big but useless :P

Excellent Theycalmedan community

Dan summarised it rightly; it's the renters mentality. They don't intend to create anything sustainable and there's really no plan for it.

Also, the wallet is trash and they used the worst devs in the world to make it.

Funny thing too, like YouTube in China, Twitter is banned in Nigeria. But yeah, VPN makes life easier.

Thank you for the shoutout @theycallmedan. Our team is beyond flattered and grateful for sharing our successful event in your today's talk. Also, for supporting us!

Awww! You're awesome Dan!🥰😊 thank you for the shout out for @purepinay 's team! 😊 we really appreciate it. This inspires us a lot. 😊

Our team is beyond grateful for the shout-out in this community token talk, Dan! Thanks a lot!

@starkerz, Magandang umaga to you too! I thought your Tagalog sounds really cute! Well, let us know the wedding date, and will the crew to do the decorations. Hehe 🤗

Thank you guys for cheering for our team and kudos to everyone who were also featured specially to @geekgirl's experiment, I thought it's a clever idea, although my brain froze after after reading the first announcement of the contest, so I'll leave it the current participants, lol!

Best Regards,
Gil

Hola... quiero manistfestar una incógnita que me tiene sufriendo: es porque no tengo atencion en mis publicaciones por parte de las ballenas... acaso me tienen silenciada? O es que no estoy haciedo bien los post?? Por favor quisiera saber 🙏

Technically - due to the snapshot, nobody started at zero and essentially, everyone 'premined' their Hive based on what they had on Steem. So, I'm calling bullshits and feel jaded LMAO

Here is a detailed summary article about the Community Token Talk Podcast episode:

Hive's Decentralized Future and the Fight Against Centralization

In the latest episode of the Community Token Talk Podcast, hosts TheyCallMeDan and Starkerz dove into a wide range of topics surrounding the growth and development of the Hive blockchain ecosystem.

The discussion began with TheyCallMeDan reflecting on a recent tweet he had posted, which used a clever visual metaphor to illustrate the dangers of coin voting systems that are undermined by pre-mined token distributions. He explained that while coin voting itself is not inherently problematic, the common practice of founders reserving a significant portion of the token supply for themselves creates centralization issues. TheyCallMeDan praised Hive as an example of a blockchain that has avoided this pitfall.

The hosts then turned their attention to the U.S. Treasury's proposal to tax unrealized capital gains, which they view as an overreach that will ultimately hurt average citizens more than the wealthy. They argued that this is part of a broader trend of governments trying to extract as much money as possible, often under the guise of pandemic relief efforts or infrastructure spending.

The conversation then shifted to an analysis of the Nigerian central bank's new digital currency, the eNaira. Starkerz pointed out that the eNaira lacks transparency, as the public cannot see the blockchain or verify the token supply. He likened it to a "shitcoin" issued by the government, highlighting the stark contrast between such centralized digital currencies and the decentralized ethos of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

The discussion also covered recent developments on the Hive blockchain, including apparent "stealth purchases" of Hive tokens that seem designed to accumulate the asset gradually without drawing too much attention. TheyCallMeDan and Starkerz theorized that a sophisticated entity may be employing tactics to slowly build a Hive position without significantly impacting the price.

Additionally, the hosts touched on the upcoming HiveFest event, expressing excitement about the opportunity to present alongside representatives from Peerplays. They also discussed the community-driven "Newbie's Initiative" on Hive, which aims to produce high-quality educational content to onboard new users, as well as the efforts of community members like PurePinay to organize local Hive meetups.

Finally, the episode covered updates from the BitShares blockchain, which is preparing for a hard fork that will enable features like decentralized lending pools and peer-to-peer loans. The hosts speculated on the potential for synergies between the Hive and BitShares ecosystems, given their shared graphene-based technology.

Overall, this Community Token Talk episode provided a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the Hive ecosystem and the broader crypto landscape, with the hosts offering insightful analysis and commentary throughout.
