WHY IS IT SO HARD TO MEDITATE?" (ecoTrain QOTW)

Meditation is what I call the highest stage of reflection. It's a period where we manage to reduce external noises to concentrate, connect and activate the mind in a period of attentive musing. Originally a lot of people believes that reflection is meant to be only a spiritual exercise. While it's actually a spiritual exercise, connecting with one's inner self in a bid to attain a height of spiritualism isn't the only way we actually meditate.

In fact, because meditation is an inner reflection. We must understand that the human body is an epitome of diversity. While others might be seeing its process as activating their inner chakra, we must understand that, meditation is a process of reflecting on life, it's intricacies and challenging ourselves to understand things that might beyond our understanding.

The highest Stage Of Reflection

Although, everyone would personally have a different definition of what meditation can mean, but subconsciously everyone has been at different states in their lives where they subconsciously create a reflection, double back, check their lives, think about issues that might be predominant in their lives.

This is to say that we inadvertently meditate, without intentions, we soliloquize, give time to series of monologues especially to situation that seem to be totally overwhelming. The heightened state of intentional meditation is to marry the body, soul and spirit to have an inalienable and unadulterated connection which should brings peace and wholesomeness.

This means that in situations where we choose to Intentionally meditate, the aim is to not necessarily tap into a spiritual realm but surely reach the peak of fulfillment within oneself.

Here's why I say meditation can be deliberate, so also, it can be unplanned

......Many sees meditation as only premeditated. This is why it's thought that they haven't meditated. People go through challenges and most times, we become aware of these challenges by reflecting on them, which results into a perpetual state of sadness. But either we're sad or uplifted, mediation is basically to be aware. Now the big question would be: why is it so hard to meditate?

With every of my expressions you'll totally understand that meditation is not difficult. It's only Intentional or deliberate meditation that seem hard or unachievable. Why is this? People are busy with their lives. Getting by on a daily, surviving a hectic job, keeping up with a nasty boss, the hurdles of meeting up with am appointment, raising a family, seeking for ways to make providence, attain comfort and quality of life as well.

Intentional Meditation A Quest Of Difficulty

Intentional meditation is meant to achieve a state of nirvana for some, in the case of some other people it's meant to seek spiritual rekindling. A state of realization which can be majorly spiritual and one of the reasons why we find it rather difficult to mediate is that sometimes..... Mostly our "physical" overwhelms our "spiritual" aspects.

This is generally true because we're carnal, our lives on the surface is more inclined to physicality and if we don't attain physical satisfaction it'll be difficult to seek things that are spiritual. This is meant to say that our physical aspects needs to be taken care of. Nevertheless, we're mostly distracted by the hustles of life.

We have physical hurdles to scale on a daily basis. Should we even begin to talk of not being in the right state of health to actually meditate. A lot of people are going through mental exhaustion. They're distracted by their own mental incapacities which brings a sense of unfufillment.

More Physical Rather Than Spiritual?

This is to say that for us to deliberately meditate, we must firstly be external whole and fulfilled to a particular extent. However, we as humans, we're surrounded by insatiabilities, the issue of inflation, bad government, unfavorable background, dealing with our incomplete natures and all that. No one is complete, so this makes us naturally insatiable.

We're seekers of the utmost levels, due to how we seek for comfort, solutions to deprivations and all, we end up being unaccomplished on the surface in other to seek deeper accomplishments. This is simply to say, we find it difficult to mediate because we're not fulfilled, we're often busy with life so much that we forget to tap into that spiritual relationship with our MAKER.

Nevertheless, I've said this early, we meditate inadvertently on a daily basis, this is just a state of realization of what's happening outwardly. To meditate intentionally is to deliberately seek beyond the physical and this is difficult, because by default we're phased with issues that pertains to the things that are real to us.

I wonder if I should participate in this….maybe as a video.

I find the most useful way to treat meditation is as a detachment from thought. Thoughts come and you just observe, until they get tired of not having you to engage with them.

It’s difficult for me because my body is always demanding attention, but I find walking or other things that are not thought of as forms of meditation to be much easier. It doesn’t have to be long to be effective either. I’m glad so many people are trying meditation these days though.

In my own case, I think I endlessly meditate, it doesn't have to be rigorous to attain that desired effect. Yeah, I understand how one's body can be demanding, it might be a niggling challenge that we have to pay attention to. However getting off the plain of usuality to reflect in our own unique ways can count as forms of meditation.

I think you should do a video. I'm more better when I write that's why I didn't do a video.

Minus our carnality, I feel like there are too many distractions around us, these days I have promised to spend time in the morning praying, meditating, and reading the word but sometimes I find myself being distracted in thoughts and falling off.

Our minds are a bit busy with the things of the world, I guess that's where carnality comes to play.

You're absolutely right when you say that our minds are too busy, that's the aspect of dealing with life that I continuously laid emphasis to. However I feel that we might choose to or we might not, one way or another, we do meditate which results in some of the changes in our lives. Thanks for dropping by.

Choosing is difficult but in the long wrong, there are so many benefits.

There are so many distractions in this world. I feel when when separate ourselves from the world, we can find a place to meditate. But we must remove the distractions from our environment.

The distractions from our environment are inevitable because we coexist with our environment. Well we can also find ways to reduce them as that take our heart away from what's really important. Thank you for coming through.

You have really dwelt well on this topic and I wouldn't disagree with you especially where you said people are trying to hustle and find means in surviving and trying to work a plan for meditation, it's somehow not working for them where they don't wish to create time for it.

Life itself requires utmost concentration and people are concern with real-time issues that they even forgot that intentional meditation is a thing. Thanks for dropping by

I don't see meditation as such difficult thing though. Because it's not until one spend the whole day on inner thoughts before meditation occurs. We just have to train our mind well enough to the point where we can observe if it is our subconscious that is doing the meditation work.

It's not difficult, the ability to do it is mainly inborn, but finding the time and premise is what makes it difficult.

Well said. Alot of distractions set in our way, especially our daily activities.

Meditation to me is just like reflection. Just as you said.

There are times I just want to focus on me, on my inner man. This sometimes has me taking a stroll with music while I ponder on things I've done, things I'm doing and things I want to do or I should do. This helps me exercise my mental very much and points forgotten things to me.

Also, Meditation as a Spiritual exercise is the best form of relaxation. Getting intouch with your Maker does wonderful things to the mind, soul and spirit.

However, I do face hurdles of distractions daily and they are not small in anyway. I'm a young lady with needs, if you know what I mean. Which is why I put it as my priority to meditate atleast for one hour daily. This stops me from making regrettable decisions.

in situations where we choose to Intentionally meditate, the aim is to not necessarily tap into a spiritual realm but surely reach the peak of fulfillment within oneself.

Hi @josediccus. Your take on this question is very refreshing and I enjoyed reading. I see meditation as connecting with our inner self in order to understand the universe in its entirety.

It's like the answer to any question we may have is around us but we need do away with distractions in other to get the answer. The way I see it, the more advanced our world gets, the more distractions increase. Meditation is part of my daily lifestyle.

The hustles of life keep one busy and not having a calm mind to meditate. The same thing goes for me when trying to have an intentional meditation.

As for me, the best way I meditate, to connect my soul is when I play the guitar. That way, it's easy for me to connect.

I find it though to just sit and close my eyes without feeling uncomfortable. But when I pick my guitar, it gets to a point that I enter that rhema.
