A fun way to stack in silver is acquiring the current year release of bullion silver coins from the different World Mints as they are released.
These are the 2020 World Mint coins that I have shown in my blog so far:

I've had this government mint bullion coin for about a month now and was just waiting its turn to be shown!
I like the design of both the obverse and reverse of this coin with the Zodiac wheel depicted around the portrait in the obverse, which makes it specific to the subject matter of the series: the Lunar animals. I also prefer the depiction of the rat in this coin over the Perth Mint Lunar III mouse design.
There are six mints in Australian: The Melbourne Mint, Sydney Mint, Note Printing Australia, Perth Mint Certificate Program, Perth Mint, and the RoyalAustralian Mint. The Royal Australian Mint is the sole producer of all of Australia's circulating coins.2020 1 oz Royal Australian Mint Year of the Rat
Silver Coin (BU)
Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, Issued a face value of $1 (AUD) by Australia.
Obverse
Depicted on the obverse is the latest effigy of the Queen on Australian coins and is based on the Jody Clark design from 2015 created for the Royal Mint of England. Elizabeth II is shown in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head.
Also included in this design element is a lunar calendar wheel. You will notice that each of the 12 animals in the cycle is represented in the design of the wheel. At the very top of the wheel, indicating it is the animal represented for the year, is a small rat.
Reverse
In this design, the rat stands on a crescent moon shape with a lychee branch behind it. Inscriptions identify the design release of this lunar collection and the coin's weight, purity, and metal content.
About the Lunar RatThe Year of the Rat is the first in the 12-year cycle of the Zodiac, also known as Shengxiao. The rat is considered a clever, perhaps even devious, animal. During the Great Race in which all animals were vying to arrive first to a meeting with the Jade Emperor, the rat used its cunning to its advantage.As the rat came to a raging river, it knew it was too small to cross the river alone. The ox close behind, the rat waited and asked the ox for a ride across. It eventually hid on the oxs head near its ear and waited until just before the finish line to jump off the ox and scurry across as the first animal to officially arrive to the Jade Emperors meeting. It is said that this is why the Year of the Rat is first in the lunar cycle.

What an interesting story @silversaver888, rats can be very intelligent! When my boys were growing up they wanted a pet rat. It turned out that it was pregnant...we had lot's of pet's LOL!😳

It is exactly the design elements that make me prefer this coin over the Lunar Mouse of Perth Mint. I was really disappointed with the PM's Mouse, and to think that it is the start of the LUnar calendar, I thought the PM will come out with a special Mouse design. So glad that the Australian Royal Mint does a parallel Lunar 3 series.
A pet mouse and more! What color were they? Your kids must have adored them! My favorite mouse is Micky Mouse, 😀LOL!

They were almost pure white, one had a smudge on his nose and that's what the Mrs named him.....Smudge!😀
When we moved from Colorado to Washington, they traveled in a pet carrier, and the Mrs was feeding them Cheese crackers....They were Hoarding them in the corner it was funny to watch LOL!🙂

It really is fun, but like you say its really hard up here and like you I loose much.
I had a loosing streak on 300 after reaching 4600... THAT almost made me cry 😁

I do have the Perth Mint Lunar Mouse, but I shall show that when I have the 5 ounce size to complete the set. My inspiration to get all sizes is Silver Slacker, and he has the entire size sets if Lunar 1 and Lunar 2. This is the year and opportunity to start the Lunar 3 collection size sets: 5, 2, 1 and 1/2 size. It may take me until next year, LOL! But who cares, right?

On the other hand, this is my opportunity to collect start the Lunar III collection. I have the Perth Mint Lunar Mouse, and I am still completing the size set. It will prolly take me to the end of the year to complete that.... If I could only stay away from hand-poured silver.

I think so too! I like this rat design. And what a nice change from the usual obverse! Hehehe... there is difference between a rat and a mouse. Did you say pet RAT! So I am thinking it is a huge pet... was it? The entire family with each having a rat... ot must have been fun!!!

It was! We bought our son a pet rat when we lived in Colorado. What we didn't know is that she was pregnant! Oh boy! We separated the boys from the girls. My rat was white with red eyes and had this dark smudge color on his head. I named him Smudge. He loved my hair and would love to cuddle at the nape of my neck or ride shotgun just inside my neckline of my shirt. Rat's love to eat whatever you are, so be prepared to share, lol! We moved here to Washington, and they traveled in a cat carrier in the front seat with me. I had them in the truck cab, my pet goat in the bed of the pickup, and my kitties in a larger pet carrier in my car that was towed behind the Uhaul Mike was driving. It was quite the zoo! He had the 2 dogs in the cab of the Uhaul. My 'rat'carrier,as next to me on the seat, and the rats would come to the slits at the top of it and beg for cheese nips. I kept feeding them as I drove and when I stopped and took a look inside, they had literally lined the carrier with them, like little pavers! The yellow brick road! They were so cool. WOW... your entire family are animal lovers! That is so cool! I've only had one cat, a Black Lab, and now my Yorkies! What fun times you have with your pets. They can be so loveable... and I know that they were created just for us to have that wonderful feeling of being adored and loved unconditionally by our pets. There must be a lesson there.

Our youngest son has the invisible neon sign over him as well. He takes on animals from the shelter that are on their last hope. Both his kitty and dog were destined to be put down if they were returned. He has done very well in training the dog. The cat has health issues that no one wanted to deal with. He loves his animals too.
Labs are great dogs and Yorkies are fantastic too! I am maybe a bit partial to kitties, but then again, I had pet frogs growing up, so I'm not normal, lol! Take care my sweet sister and have a lovely evening!😘💕🌸🤗

I think it is good to have both! It is the start of the series. YOu and I are here for the long haul, before you know it (you know that it can go very fast) we'd have both Lunar year collections from both Australian Mints. Perhaps we can both look for a third Lunar series (I think that the Rwanda one may be another good one) to get.
