Here is what happened:
- A couple of weeks back I developed a feature to counteract farming on Hive
- @ctime was one of the accounts upvoting posts/comments of farming accounts right before the window expiration end. Therefore it got added to the blacklist.
- After a few weeks that my change was released, I think that @ctime realized that his last-minute upvotes were counteracted by my bot @hive-defender so he decided to mess with people and started upvoting random users right before the window expiration.. just to cause chaos.
- @keys-defender follows all @hive-defender votes and the former has a downvote trail followed by accounts with high-VP used for anti-abuse (of which @ctime is not a fan of). The trail got triggered for all the posts that were automatically downvoted by the anti-farming feature.
The automated downvotes against ctime upvotes will now be processed only if the target account has a @spaminator downvote.

I had a feeling it was someone figuring out how to mess with the bot. I'll re-enable my trail following now, Fortunately due to my own dumbness I broke my trail following for quite some time and only ended up downvoting maybe 10 posts which I went back and manually corrected.

I really did not understand what was going on with those negative votes, until I found out and investigated, it is very bad what happened, it leaves me with a very bad feeling, it is not right that this bot affects third parties in their problem with the @ctime account, if they have a problem with that account they should fix it with him.
I feel like when in my country the police catch you being innocent and give you a beating they lock you up and then they realize the mistake and just tell you "sorry it was a mistake" and let you free just like that.
Repair that Bot bro please! And if you are so interested in taking care of the problem of some abuse in the chain do it manually so you will not have failures.
Downvotes are a fact of life on Hive. Don't worry too much about them, especially when it's just cents involved. I get them all the time and I've had some that wiped out all my posts for a week. If you do good stuff then people will help you out. This is a rare accident by someone trying to do good.
That's right, this time it was just a few cents, but in the future it may be more, I am not against the @key-defender project is good even the @hive-defender is also good, but they have to eliminate the margin of error and abuse in them system as this happened.
And if for you the negative votes are a daily thing, for me it is not, I take care not to incur in any fault not to expose myself to this type of things.
No system is perfect. The fact that we can earn anything is pretty amazing, but we have to accept some risk with that. Even if you do nothing wrong someone may take against you. Better to accept that than get upset by it.
I hope they catch the person responsible, in my town we would lynch him and hang him from the nuts, have a nice day.

Not really, lol. A bad guy stole a police car and started giving tickets to random cars parked on the street. The tickets are now being removed. Big deal.
The bot is already repaired now (it's the first thing I did).
Hopefully at the end of the day all the tikets will be remove, we should also see how to reinforce security or see how to prevent it from happening again, because it really does not affect so much because it is not an important amount, but my post looks very bad with these negative votes.

Honestly, I was EQUALLY concerned that the above mentioned accounts were compromised somehow, because @splatts is a dead account of @jlsplatts and because others don't have posts or look sketchy, alongside witness names who could lose votes due to downvoting planktons.
It's credible to have taken the time to repair the damage.
I want to note, new users won't go the mile to investigate or complain. They will leave and start talking shit about Hive on other platforms. And I posted additional responses to the comments on my post. I'm here to HELP us all win, believe it. Ironing out the kinks is preparing the road for newcomers.

You don't need to run the script, only accounts that accidentally downvoted you can use it to remove all 150 downvotes

@acidyo @pfunk I see manual legitimate downvotes of shit content as a positive thing, including spam, plagiarism and abuse such as $500 posts of nonsense. It is demonetizing it, and silencing it, which is the very point of downvoting that shit content.
Likewise, when it accidentally does the same thing to non-spam, original, non-abusive content; it's still demonetizing and silencing. It is.
The definition doesn't change based on WHO it does it to, and people will naturally feel discouraged (as the spammers would and should feel if it was done accurately.)

The problem with you people is that you thought the potential rewards are already yours even when they're not yet on payout. Before the payout on the 7th day, the potential reward still belongs to the reward pool. As one whale can allocate that reward to you, another whale can take it away.
