The Ultimate Savings Account.

CUB Kingdom as a savings plan.

For quite some time now, my primary focus for accumulating Crypto assets has been the Cosmos Eco-system. I have found the growth and explosion of projects there to be most rewarding, plus it has given me plenty to post about here with all the airdrops and new projects rolling along. But the focus there has distracted me from something I should not have dropped the ball on.

Cub Finance.

cub finance.png

Gradually, over time I have moved most of my assets away from Cub, and into various Cosmos eco-system projects. For quite a period of time in fact, I had no Cub holdings at all - directly anyway. Indirectly, I have always felt that I still have some connection, through holding SPI tokens. As part of that program, I manage the @spinvest-leo account, and most of its assets are on Cub. So personally, I drifted away. Even with POLYCUB on the horizon I never really felt the urge to get back in the game, until the last minute when I shifted some assets into the Kingdom.

However, I have come to see that this has been a misstep. Now that crypto is my main source of income, I am realizing that having all my funds locked and needing weeks and weeks to unlock is not a great idea. I need a liquid savings account, that can be quickly converted to fiat if unexpected expenses arise. And, looking around, it is becoming more and more apparent that the Cub Kingdom is the best place to build that savings fund.

Why CUB Kingdom specifically?

Firstly, the CUB token price is, to my mind anyway, quite undervalued. Particularly since the recent dump, it feels like an absolute bargain. So, a savings fund that has a high potential over the coming months to gain in value is a no-brainer. If the plans to role out numerous POLYCUB clones across the range of EVM chains do eventuate (and I see no reason why they won't), then demand for CUB should grow significantly as more people see the benefit. Stacking CUB's under $0.25 feels like an obvious move here. I'm not a huge fan personally of USD based stable-coins as a savings plan, growth assets appeal to me much more and CUB fits that bill.

Second, CUB fits the needs of readily accessible liquidity. I had a moment yesterday where I wanted to pull a hundred or so dollars of crypto, to buy a few NFT's. I was able to, in a matter of minutes, pull a bit out of the CUB kingdom, send it to Binance, trade to ATOM, pull it out, and then trade on Osmosis and mint these NFT's. It literally took minutes, from CUB in the Kingdom, to NFT's in my wallet. I had no other liquid funds at the time, and being able to do this so fast is a big tick for having a savings fund in the CUB Kingdom. Flexibility is so important, and having easy access to funds makes pouncing on opportunities so important.

Third, decent APR. Money saved in the CUB Kingdom earns a decent APR, which has increased lately thanks to the "Pendulum". Earning basically 50% APR (65% APY) on liquid savings is an awesome deal. No way for money in the bank to pay this. Of course, Farming Liquidity Pools can generate this kind of income, or more. But to have an auto-compounding, single asset savings account, instantly accessible with no penalties, and no Impermanent Loss risk, is a very attractive option.

Fourth, airdrops. As we have been seeing, Holding CUB has the benefit of qualifying for the POLYCUB airdrop. This is quite a lucrative additional benefit. The benefit here is not just the current POLYCUB drop, it also stretches in to the future with the other outposts, or "pride's" that are in the plans - starting with Avalanche it seems.

So, overall, CUB shapes up as a superior place to build up some readily accessible capital.

HOW?

So we have taken a look at the why, now down to looking at how I'm planning to go about this. Currently, my Kingdom position is roughly 6000 CUB's. Not nothing, but nowhere near what I would like it to be. So, here are a few ways I plan to boost it:

  1. Post payouts. I have been very grateful that my recent content is being well supported. An obvious source of funds to build my CUB position is from HIVE and LEO post payouts. Simple to convert, and if I keep up with providing content people like, a source of funds coming from income rather than existing capital.

  2. HIVE. I have started to power down HP. I know the HIVE maxi's around will hate me for this, but separating emotion from logic, it just makes sense. HIVE powered up with a 13 week unlock, earns 12%, up to a possible 19% (16 from delegating to @leo.voter plus 3 from inflation). Compared that to 60% on funds with an instant unlock and all the benefits listed above. I know there are other benefits from holding Hive Power, and I have no intention of powering down all the way, but swapping some from HP to CUB makes sense for me.

  3. POLYCUB. One other source of funds, that may be a controversial take around here, is that I am selling my POLYCUB airdrop. Having no other available funds to put in to farms or kingdoms currently, I have made the decision that my personal airdrop will get converted back to more CUB. Probably not a great choice, but looking at the long run, I'd rather build that position to be much better placed for the next launch of Avax-cub than have a relatively smallish position on the two platforms. Boosting my CUB for the next time makes sense in my head. Besides, I still get a nice amount of POLYCUB exposure from my SPI involvement. Part of why I love @spinvest so much is that it gives me the freedom to take a different course of action to many, and still have exposures to all of these things.

So there you have it, CUB is the ultimate savings account.

What do you all think, am I making a mistake in any of this planning, or on the right path? Will I regret not stacking my POLYCUB drop into XPOLYCUB?

Thanks for reading,

JK.

I'm with you on this one. Not selling hive as that's my baby but I'm selling polycub to buy more cub. Poly could be a success but if they keep rolling out platforms for the next few years then could could create another 10 successes.

That's why I've sold all my random bits for cub this week while the prices are stupid cheap.

I want 100k of them by the end of year so now I just need to make more funds to keep buying. Polycub is just going to be one of them.

Yeah, the more I look at it, the more underrated I think CUB really is. $0.22 is an absolute bargain, and I'm with you on the 100K target, that is what I am eyeing off also.

I agree with everything you write.

I have been putting a little in the HBD savings everyday, because I do think having a rock solid safe space is a good idea, but most of the rest I make goes to other things, including LEO and CUB.

I have thought about selling my PolyCUB to buy more CUB, but I haven't pulled the trigger on that idea yet, so far just putting everything into xPolyCUB.

Anyway, I am betting heavy on the LEO ecosystem, most of all CUB.

Trading everything I can to CUB is a strategy for me, not what will work for everyone. If I had done this earlier, and positioned myself better I'd be staking XPOLYCUB like a mad man, but I dropped the ball and didn't wake up to it early enough.

Gotta get my diamond paws back.

This is not a mistake. This is a pretty smart move considering the number of airdrops coming our way. With each airdrop CUB will become more valuable and hopefully, the demand will rise.

I want to hit 10k HP so that I would be able to do the same. Whenever I want to throw in a $1000 into something, just power down some of the HP and do it.

All the best JK. Keep stacking :'))

Yup, everyone has their own goals and plans, and are at different stages. For me, I have overlooked CUB for a while, but have shifted my strategy to make it a core component for the long run.

Good luck with the HP, sounds like a real solid base to grow from.

My entire crypto portfolio has been built from HIVE and LEO earnings, pretty cool really when you think about it.

Thank you sir, I'm just wishing I woke up earlier and was staking CUB non-stop. Should have kept my eye on the ball.

I'm with you, seems like a no-brainer to me. 60% APY, liquid, plus the current airdrop for another 50+ days and future airdrops. I recently doubled my position there as well.

Right now my focus is on LEO. I'm trying to hit 50k of that while it's still this cheap and then I'll probably go back to stacking HIVE. I really think LEO is in for a pretty significant liquidity squeeze here in the next 6 months. For sure in the lead-up to ProjectBlank, possibly sooner. Plus, I want the LeoPower for votes. It's just a LOT easier to stack things when they're 20 cents as opposed to even 30-40 cents.

I DO think you might be better served to put your PolyCUB airdrop into xPolyCUB but, as you say, there's only so much to go around. If it works like Khal thinks it should with his design, then just a few xPolyCUB could be worth quite a bit in a couple years. That said, if it does indeed work like Khal plans, then there's no reason the future xThorCUB and xAvaxCUB and xFantomCUB shouldn't work just as well or even better than PolyCUB. In that case, you're not necessarily missing out on much with PolyCUB. You're basically just pushing your payoff back 3-6 months.

Time will tell as always.

I agree with this too. LEO is going to have its day soon enough. I have been stacking CUB during its dip. I wouldn't mind adding to my LEO stake as well... decisions!!! these are good problems to have.

Yeah, XPOLYCUB is the one I am likely to regret, out of everything in this plan. But overall, I think in the long run maximizing my CUB will position me much better overall for future launches. A bit of delayed gratification.

More LEO would be nice to, I think you are on the right track there.

I am a huge CUB bull and have been just driving everything I could find sitting around into CUB. I have a few PolyCub goals to hit and then it is all about CUB. When PolyCUB proves to be sustainable and good, the next airdrops should be no brainers... and that is all value coming to CUB. You are not wrong. (I hope)

I hope so too. I have a lot of confidence having seen the launch and early days of Polycub that the next platforms to be launched will be even better. I dropped the ball on Polycub, so better now I think to focus on CUB, and then be ready for the next one.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

True, you only missed the first boat of many bigger and better boats.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This makes me think about hodling more CUB. I am still confused about the Polycub Airdrop, lol! Is it claimable daily? I was trying to claim mine to stake them on xPolycub but I get lost after clicking the "Claim" button. It redirects me to Polycub.com and changes my wallet to Polygon chain and I couldn't claim any Polycub at all. I wonder what I am doing wrong. Thank you.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

First thought is - Do you have any MATIC in your Polygon wallet? It is normal that it will redirect to polycub.com and change the wallet, polycub is on a completely different chain to cubfinance. But to claim your airdrop, you need a little MATIC in there to pay the gas fee.

If that is the problem, the easiest way for HIVE people to get some matic is to buy it on Hive Engine. You can then withdraw it straight to your Polygon wallet and are good to go.

I hope that helps you out. If that isn't the problem, then maybe it is something else and you might have to go to the Leofinance discord and ask one of the lovely people there for help.

Best of luck, feel free to ask away if there is anything else you are unsure about.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thank you for these, I really appreciate it :) I did send Matic to my Polygon wallet and tried claiming but for some reason I still can't. I will be going to Discord later tonight to ask for help. Once again, thanks!

Cub is great. Holding cub gives us airdrops, maybe other uses later on. I think some of the farms are quite stable. Now the APR are lower but still respectable. Buy now at $0.25 is good price. Not so long ago cub was over $1 so it's really hugely undervalued !

I think so too. CUB at $0.25 is a bargain I think.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I love auto compounding there and CUB is on the range of ATL, so I am all in for CUB.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Auto compounding and easy access, plus numerous airdrops over the next year or two, what is not to love.

I enjoyed reading this because it gives me a lot to think about. I have little bits of tokens all over hive and im not staking hive and leo at the moment. It's funny how I let my tokens sit and endlessly wait in mostly liquid form waiting for mainly nothing. (project blank). I'm not confident with making money trading crypto but I should be more confident approaching it as savings. I like how you think about this

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I learned years ago that I was a very bad trader. Gave up on it, except for the occasional attempt every now and then that always ended badly. Grinding and accumulating, along with trying to keep up with the trends is my best strategy.

I hear you on all the bits and pieces accumulating without much purpose. I've found that concentrating on a few "high conviction" investments, in decent size, and then keeping options open with some dabbles that can be upgraded or ditched.

CUB just got upgraded for me back into a high conviction investment, so its time to stack some more over the coming months.
