I could refer to her as my childhood love if one is able to say such things at an age were concepts are blurry. I think the idea would be to reconnect. We talk a little bit every once in a while, but I've seen she's doing really well and that makes me happy. About where to go. I think Italian food would be the easiest choice as she's half Italian.
If I could choose any other person, I think this guide Mike Duncan from the Revolutions Podcast would be an interesting dinner date. I just would ask him to tell me about anything in history and enjoy listening to that witty and sardonic way of storytelling. Also, I think he might be an even easier pick for food. Nice burgers, fries, cold beers and a lot of stories about History's interesting events and not-so-well-known facts.
I really like the idea of that girl coming over for dinner; trust you to have a really thoughtful answer. I love how you find happiness in her happiness, that she's doing well. You're a gentleman. I have visions of the embers from the past growing to flames at your dinner and, I agree, Italian food sound pretty perfect.
MD is another nice choice and I think there's be great value to come from that dinner over beers and burgers.

Well, I don't know about embers. Because that's a one-sided issue. But who knows what might happen. Hey, happiness is as contagious as Covid, so as long as you see happy people and aren't a nutjob, well, you will get a bit of it.
