After the closing dinner, the theme for this HiveFest was set. FAMILY. It is hard not to agree with the theme, especially for me. The person bringing this family together in one place, @roelandp. A truly amazing gentleman. Running on almost no sleep and still managing to keep everything punctual, on track, and pulling big smiles. Very well hosted. Much love.
The final words were spoken by @arcange following roeland, and very eloquently so. A brief look back at the previous fests and how each one was different from the others. I honestly did not want the fest to end. These were the best 4 days I have spent in what feels like ages. Meeting people I have known for years through the blockchain, made new friends, and even came up with plans on what we could potentially work on in the near future. In just a few years, the blockchain has turned into something very different than what I knew it was and the HF was solid proof of more great things to come.
Not too late into the drinks, @poezio recited a very beautiful poem. Extremely well thought-out and beautifully worded. It is hard not to love him, and without him, the presentations would not have been as smooth as they have been, as well as so much behind the scenes. Just a few minutes spent with him throughout the 4 days was enough to leave an impression worth mentioning.
A perfect caricature of how Hive makes a difference. I do not know if they realize what a huge difference they have made, but I took the chance to tell it to them in person. I am humbled that I could speak for many that have been able to receive the kindness. Brimming with positivity, extremely inspiring, and just such beautiful individuals. I am glad we also had so much we could agree on, and also that we could challenge each other's beliefs.
Each one of us has the power, big or small, to do something that'd seem very negligible to them, but would be life-changing for others. I have had the chance to meet such people, and thank them, even get to know them a little better. People who have literally saved lives. An unconditional bonding, that's family.
It was extremely rewarding to learn others journeys and how the blockchain life has been changing their outlook on life and lifestyle, itself. Spoke to some who are new on the chain and some who have been here for quite some time.
Since the first time I came across the magazine I was completely blown away by how well done it was. Flipping through the pages and checking it out top to bottom. And then enter the creators of it and I was so happy to meet them. But when I went to take pictures with them I noticed @quekery missing. Either he was busy throwing buckets of water from his tent, or the gang signs by @smooms has to do something with the disappearance. During lunch I was reading the "What was before the HiQ existed?" by @mary-me. I remember when HiQ made their introduction on the chain, and having a physical magazine now is simply amazing.
I loved Gandlaf's takes on various topics. Not only did he simplify complex topics, which would otherwise sound like gibberish to me, with ease. But he is very knowledgeable about almost everything and conveyed the message in a very easy manner. There are also other things that I really appreciate, but I have told that to him in person and I am sure he understands. Here are pictures of before and after his reflective Hive t-shirt temporarily paralyzed my eyelids.
I would not be alone if I said there were people we have all met in the HiveFest that have had a massive impact on a personal and much bigger level. I know a few who, just by their genuine emotions and words, have pushed me in the right direction. Prior to the HiveFest, I felt very lost. With personal things as well as my Hive journey. It is this heart-to-heart, no filter, very genuine conversations that come with good intentions that make this so special. I want to thank you for being there, not just for me, but for the entire chain. Wish we cross paths again.

I was not too far away from mynewlife or engrave just a few months back, but I am glad I could put a face to the names at HiveFest. Looking forward to the video, mynewlife. The work he put is worth all the applause and genuinely so much fun to be around. Engrave, hope you got a coaster man. I never thought we would agree on the things we discussed. See you all again in Krakow IF I go there to meet the guys at @krolestwo.
It is just a small step forward, but @tibfox said it best. Just by observing the HiveFest he has found newly renewed valor to chase his passion for a project he has been working on. To give yet another go, this time all gas no brakes, because the HiveFest showed him the real potential we have at hand. And that is what the fest should be about. Maybe we can expect something big coming from @diyhub? Can't wait to see his work come to life as I know for years now he is an exceptional dev, and can't wait to see him again hopefully presenting at the HF8.
