First Contracts

Among the startups that were interested in NeMo software, several signed contracts with the NeMo Trucking Software company.

As the software was open-source, it could be downloaded and installed freely. So, why would these companies sign contracts with the NeMo company?

They were not developing the software themselves, so they needed support in case there was a problem with the software. Also, they were able to ask for improvements.

There were 4 levels of contracts, depending on the number of trucks delivered per year: up to 10 trucks, up to 100, up to 1,000, and over 1,000. Of course, all the startups signed for the least expensive contracts (up to 10 trucks per year) as they had not delivered any truck.

In addition to these support contracts, drivers for devices that were not yet available in NeMo-Truxoft needed to be developed. These drivers were created by the NeMo company, for a fee, and became available to all its customers.

With these first support and development contracts, the NeMo Trucking Software company increased its revenue substantially.

In September 2027, the company hired two consultants part-time, Paramvir and Chen, an engineer of RG Core Technologies, to help them with the contracts.
