Good for grandma getting out there and walking! Kudos to you for joining her. I walk every day with my son about 5 km along the beach in the sand. Sometimes twice a day depending on the tides and weather. I also take a half hour twice a day to meditate. These two things help keep me active and grounded. Then I have the usual household chores and gardening.
That seems like quite an active life! If I may ask, what position do you meditate in? I haven't found a great position to stay for 30 minutes yet ...;p
I have found a unique position for me. At the beach, there is a nice big flat piece of coral. It is large enough for me to sit in the lotus position most days. Some days are harder because of my arthritis. Those days I still sit on my coral, but not in lotus. Other times I have a favourite rocking chair out under my favourite Ylang-ylang tree.
Going walking with Grandma. You made my night :)
That makes me happy!
Hi, I left a comment on DLive, not sure if it "took" so I'll leave it here as well. I don't have any workout plan, my work, drywall taping is plenty of exercise for me, and when i'm not working i'm vegetating at my computer!
tried yoga once, took the instructor two hours to get me untied! I also found you on Twitter and "followed". My twitter handle is skip1957.
Alright Skip! Great to hear from you, and glad you posted here. you actually have to login into dlive to post over there (although its the same credentials), so that's probably why it won't take.
And I love hearing about your plan, if the taping is enough for you thats great! I find that any 'work' exercise tends to only activate certain parts of my physique, and I end up having to stretch and work in the 'opposite direction'.
And thanks for the follow, I'm new to twitter, but now you'll know when I post a new video (everyday!). Do you use twitter much still?
I usually have 4 tabs open all the time when I'm online, Twitter, My email, FaceBook, and Busy! I'm online everyday at some point! :)
Hi, @ecoinstant. I used to be very active, even played some basketball (taught my daughters how to play it). But as of lately, except for walking long distances every day because of the transportation crisis we have in the country, i do not exercise a lot.
I need it badly though, but we don't have many nearby jogger-friendly areas or bikepaths and the like.
Of course, one can always figure something out, and once you create the habit you can't stop. Sometimes all you need is a partner. It sucks to work out alone.
Good for you you get to do it in such a beautiful and safe-looking area
Very good points Hlezama! Working out togethergives us great motivation!
And walking to and from work is a great way to stay in shape! I used to walk all over Bogotá because my teaching job didn't pay enough to actually take a bus between students!
There are all sorts of activities to do, even isometric activities that can be done by prisoners! I hope to try out new exercises soon :)
Be blessed, el mundo ya se esta cambiando!

I do construction work all day so on and given day I've lifted a truck load of lumber, climbed up and down and up and down and up and down scaffolding, pulled, pushed, dragged, hauled, toted, thrown more stuff around than most people do in a month at the gym. By the time my 10hr day is done I simply want to eat, shower and lay flat in a vegetative state until I find something that resembles equilibrium and then I go to sleep. The funny thing is, I love it. I dropped out of grad school to build dreams for others rather than trying to live a dream life of lies (at least that's the way I see it) In the end I'm happy, I'm stress free, outdoes most of the time, not confined to one specific workplace every day. Wouldn't trade it for nothing and it keeps me tone and in shape.
lol, does lifting the fork to my face count? I'm just kidding, I do much less these days. For me it's getting up early, drink 2 full glasses of water, then do some form of exercise, I prefer weights to the typical cardio. If you are looking for a compact, workout that combines weights and cardio, crossfit is probably the way to go. Either that or design a workout that uses super-sets, (groups of 3 or more exercises done in rapid succession with a 1 to 2 minute break in between sets.)
haha! why in the world would anyone want to follow you on twitter? boring..hey I forgot to say in your mowing video that those bushes look marvelous..like they were pruned by a professional or something. looks like you can prune anything but your beard.
