Hive Open Mic ( #openmic ) is a global community celebrating live music on Hive. Each week is a new event, encouraging musicians to share songs with an international audience.

Global harmony is our mission. World peace is our vision. Our community's open mic event attracts 100+ musicians and thousands of listeners each week. We provide a haven for creative expression and genuine connection. All are welcome. Every contributor can be proud of the fact we are building a live music movement, sharing songs with an international audience.
Each week, our community shares the gifts of musical performance and generous listening. We celebrate songs of every style, and we make real relationships with music lovers worldwide. Our virtual song circle reaches globally, while upholding the classic pattern of a traditional open mic event.
For the 84th week of Hive Open Mic, we will explore the following theme: "En Honor y Amor a Ellas." In English, this translates to: "In Honor and Love of Them." This theme is selected by Spotlight Artist: @joseguira, hailing from Venezuela. Everyone is encouraged to express musically through this common thread of connection that we can share.
“En Honor y Amor a Ellas”
This week's Hive Open Mic theme is: “En Honor y Amor a Ellas.” This is a pressure-free invitation, encouraging us to explore new territory together as artists and share a common ground as a community. Musicians always have full freedom to bring whatever music feels inspired in the moment. Here's a timeline, for anyone wishing to look back, be present, or prepare future entries.
How To Play
1. Produce - Introduce your video by saying the words, “Hive Open Mic Week [1],” including your name. Perform a song.
2. Present - Post your video in the Hive Open Mic community. Include the tag #openmic.
3. Promote - Share your link in the comments section of Sunday's open mic invitation in order to ensure your entry is heard.
4. Prosper - Build relationships by engaging with fellow music lovers through uplifting comments.

Show your support by engaging with the musicians. The greatest gift you can give to an artist is your attention. For this reason, we humbly ask that you offer some friendly words. You can reward musicians by offering applause as if we're in a pub, a coffee shop, or concert hall. Thanks for clarifying your intention. I think "the women" is understood in the Spanish language, with its feminine spelling of the word "Ellas," although in English that word might be plainly translated as a gender-neutral word: "Them." So I like the idea of keeping it open to interpretation. However, I do very much like your suggestion of focusing energy on the love and respect we show specifically to the women.

Creo que "las mujeres" se entiende en español, con la ortografía femenina de la palabra "Ellas", aunque en inglés esa palabra podría traducirse claramente como una palabra neutra: "Them". Por eso me gusta la idea de mantenerlo abierto a la interpretación. Sin embargo, me gusta mucho tu sugerencia de concentrar la energía en el amor y el respeto que mostramos específicamente a las mujeres.

Hello, community of singers, instrumentalists and poets, I am once again participating - attending the call of @cabelindsay and the invitation of @vdc - in this inspiring thematic contest that is now in its 84th week . This time the theme should be "IN HONOR TO THEM" and I have decided to sing a song in honor of the great Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni, a controversial lady who left us some beautiful and controversial poems. On the beach of Mar del Plata, Argentina, there is a statue in her honor that marks the place where she decided to end her life by submerging in the sea.
