Hello Hello Hive - Eliza-Anne here!

Hello Hive!

I am Eliza-Anne, but most of the people close to me just call me Eliza or Eli. Double Barrel and double trouble as my folks always tell me, lolz!

I actually started sharing stuff here about two weeks ago and have a few posts up on my profile already. It was only about half way through that, I noticed some people on the platform introducing themselves with complete posts about it. I will be honest, I am not really big on being in the spotlight, I prefer to just exist in the background somewhere quietly going about my business lolz, so when @nanixxx and the “emotions and feelings” community (@hive-102879) brought it up in a couple of my comments, I started to get the feeling that it was pretty custom practice around here and figured that I should probably get to it sooner rather than later. No point introducing myself to people after they have already gotten to know me for like six months I guess, ha!

So, here I am! Pretty much as my profile says… I am just a beach bum sharing my world. Ok, that is not entirely true I guess, I don't just sit around all day watching waves roll on to the shore or tanning my butt cheeks, lolz!

I am, I suppose a little bit of a “jack of all trades and master of none”. I have never really settled on any one particular thing and by social standards am probably seen as a total failure or "lost cause" because I decided early on that “life” would be my education. Thankfully my folks have always been real good to me choosing a path which connected with me, rather than doing something which I hated every second of.

Hello.png

So... what do I do when I am not staring at the clouds, watching the moon or tanning my butt cheeks on the beach?! Lolz! I do a lot actually!

I do a little bit of freelance modeling and have done so for a few years now, but not enough to turn me into a prissy missy - only enough to give me a little bit of extra cash and mostly for smaller gigs which mostly fly under the radar which suits me just fine. The photo above is an oldie from a couple years back. It was a beach shoot (just my thing haha) for a summer lifestyle campaign.

I also do a lot of remote online work which involves a little creative layout, writing, editing and such. I am no pro, but I manage to get some decent side hustles doing stuff like that and have built up a lot of what I do with Fiverr. Mostly, I love to challenge myself, learn new things and because of that I suppose you could say that I have built quite a diverse skillset for an almost 30 year old, omgosh I am getting old, lolz! Naaah, I am a firm in the fact that age is but a number and I have plenty of those left to adventure through!

I spend a LOT of my time looking for ways to earn a living online because I value my freedom and I will do anything and everything to protect it. I don't EVER want to be stuck in a cubicle in an office, or operating on repeat from nine to five 365 days a year.

My folks gave me the kickstart of freedom by allowing me to have the choice of "who" I want to become, but it has always been up to me to not mess that up. A value and principle which I give a lot of weight. Sure, I follow my own path, but I do still want to make them both proud in some way or another you know?!

That was actually how I came to discover Hive. I began exploring crypto a couple of years ago (thanks to my dad) and mostly looked at ways I could get into it with airdrops and such. Over the last couple of years I have gathered a little bit of this and that. Not like I am going to be buying a beach mansion any time soon, but I am in love with the freedom of decentralization technology and even though most of the complicated stuff goes over my head completely, I do try and hang on to what I can understand.
Somewhere along the way (and more than once) Hive popped up in search results when looking for ways to earn crypto. I admit, I did not check it out the first, or probably even the second time - lolz, but I did... eventually, and now I am here, YAY!

My friends tell me I was born in the wrong era and that I should have been prancing around in woodstock with all the hippies, and maybe they are right. I do generally sway towards the simpler things in life and I keep my life pretty simple too, even though I guess you could say I live a simple life, in a modern way lolz!

20220508_084145.jpg

I absolutely LOVE spending time at the beach and outdoors in general. I love to draw and paint stuff, but its mostly my own ridiculous doodles and abstracts which I do just for fun and to escape into my own little world. My mom is a writer and my dad a chef, so I suppose they are responsible for my insatiable love for reading, writing and eating! Ok… and cooking, but not always. Sometimes I go through really lazy stages!

20230426_164750 (1).jpg

This here photo is a prime example of me having one of those lazy days! That is packet egg noodles, a soft boiled egg, some finely grated cheddar and a little spice! It really doesnt get lazier than that for me, lolz! I also like to entertain/challenge myself by eating it all with chop sticks because life is too short not to laugh at yourself, lolz!

20220726_105154 (1).jpg

I am a borderline hoarder of all things vintage, weird and wonderful and my place resembles an arts and crafts fair. If I put price tags on my possessions, people would probably believe they were in fact at a market of some kind, lolz! But that is just me. I love things from yester-year and the history they hold. There is just a magical something about them.

I am not much of a socialite and I tend to stay away from crowds both online and offline.I enjoy spending time by myself, doing “whatever”. Not to say I don’t enjoy social occasions with family and friends, because I do. Those, to me, are quality moments, which is what I prefer I suppose.

I walk a LOT and travel too, but mostly locally. I guess you could say I try to live in the present as much as I can, which is why I always try to keep my life as simple as possible. Weird to share a photo of my flip flops? Probably, LOLZ! but if I am not barefoot, then these babies carry me around everywhere, although they are displaying signs of soon retirement, hehe! And when they do, they will be missed. I look at them and I dont just see a pair of shoes for me tootsies, they are symbolic of an entire slice of my journey here. They represent so many moments, adventures and emotions.

20230426_200120.jpg

Well, now that I have officially discussed my feet with an entire space filled with (now) complete strangers (but hopefully soon friends), let me move on very, very swiftly, lolz!

Among the many things I love to do is reading. Sometimes, I think that perhaps my lack of desire to socially engage is because there is always a wonderful world awaiting me in a book. An adventure or romance a million miles away on some fantasy island where reality never comes knocking.

I write a lot, always have done and I have like a gazillion notebooks which are all filled with my random internal wanderings. Perhaps I will share some of those here along the way. Like I mentioned earlier I guess my moms influence has something to do with that. I would LOVE to write a book one day. About what?! Who knows! Time will tell I am sure.

20230426_203558.jpg

As you have probably gathered, I spend most of my time alone and I think that was what eventually drew me to finally check out this hive space. I guess I have been looking for a space to share the little things (and maybe the big too) which happen in my life with people I can get to know at a pace which is comfortable for me. Not to feel forced into it, like you sometimes do in person... know what I mean?

Anyways, let's see how this adventure unfolds! It has been pretty awesome so far, except for that "cross post moment". I did a couple of cross posts, mostly because I was checking everything out and what what... but I did not read the rules of the community I cross posted into and did a double take when I was in trouble for that hehe. Live and learn yes?

I did get featured in a post by the curators @curangel because @galenkp shared my post with them I think. Thats how it works? Well, either way it was SUCH a cool surprise, so thanks so much for that!

I am really looking forward to meeting you all as I go along. I have already met some super awesome people. Always up for a new adventure and am loving this one so far!

Thanks for reading this and for looking at my flip flops lolz!

Eliza xxx

PS. I have had a look around at quite a few of the groups or communities but would love to know about more so maybe some of you can share some of the hidden gems?

PPS. I also see that so many of you have twitter references in a lot of the comments. I don't have twitter but it looks like a lot of you connect there???? Maybe you can give me a little insight? I don't mind creating a twitter account but have just never done it because I am a hermit, lolz.

PPPS. Thank you to @ylich for your introduction post guide. It helped a lot and also thanks to @hive-102879 for sharing it with me. I hope I did a good job!!!

Awesome, looking forward to your posts!

Hi @eliza.anne, a great self-presentation & nice photos, congrats. I really enjoyed reading it. I don't know what you're going to write about in your books, but believe me, they'll be a real success, if they will be in the style of this post❗ Ha ha, I dare not ask you, why they call you double trouble 🤣 PS. Regarding Twitter, you can use Leo Threads instead and use #gosh in your post,...See you soon

Hi @miljo76 :)

Thank you very much for the wonderful compliment on my writing and I am super relieved that you enjoyed it. I was a little nervous to be honest, lolz!

As for the double trouble thing... lolz, wellllll, let's just say that although my folks and I have a wonderful relationship now, I didn't always give them a very easy time growing up haha!

Thanks for the Twitter tip. I need to take some time to check it all out. I will be a total newbie on that, but I will get there :D

Thanks again for the lovely comment and its super to connect!

Have a brilliant day!

Congratulations and welcome to Hive @eliza.anne!

Don't be surprise if a lot of people here (including me) would be able to resonate with your life and stories! Just like you, I'm leaning towards having a simple yet present life with more freedom to do more creative stuff, or rest for a long time, or perhaps be lazy from time to time. I used to fear that others would judge me as a failure after quitting the corporate world or jumping from one thing or another but I did learned that it was the greatest blessing I had received. If not, I wouldn't be here on Hive and enjoying the freedom I have now. 😊 So I'm so excited for your journey here and yes, you will meet a lot of amazing people along the way!

P.S. I look forward to seeing more of your vintage stuff!

Anyways, you can share your artworks in Sketchbook. Or perhaps share your dad's recipes in Foodies Bee Hive. The Ink Well is an amazing community where you can share fictional stories you have originally made. Meet fellow book lovers in Hive Book Club. Lastly, I'm am looking forward to reading some of the amazing beaches you have traveled, Pinmapple is the place to share that. You can also check out our different Communities and see what interests you.

Not sure what interface you are using, but I recommend you using peakd. Simply use your hive username and posting key to login.

To help you on your journey here, you can read How To Get A Great Start on the Hive Blockchain or check out some resources in newbies-guide. Also, engaging with the community makes it much easier to build your network and gain support. And lastly, Plagiarism and any form of abuse is considered a serious offense. Navigating here on Hive can be somewhat tricky so make sure to check out the things mentioned above.

I know all of this stuff is overwhelming but you can always chat me on discord (indayclara#7924) if you need help.

This is @indayclara from the @ocd team and we wish you all the best!

Thank you for that vote of confidence. I used to question my choices a bit and sometimes what people thought would get me down, but I decided to throw all of that out the window and just be ME, so its really wonderful to know that I am likely to find a lot more of that here. I already have... even with you it seems, lolz!

Thank you so much for the kind gestures and helpful comment. I will definitely check our your suggestions. Yes, I am using Peakd now. I wasn't in the beginning - but I saw a few people mentioning it and yes, it is MUCH better and also more user friendly.

It has been quite a bit to take in, but even though I spend my most of my life barefoot and shopping for vintage goodies haha, I do also spend a lot of time on technology for my freelance work, so I think I am picking it up at an ok speed lolz! I am not on discord though. I will take a look at that more closely when I have some time. I always thought that was just more for gamers and stuff, but I guess you learn something new every day hehe!

Thanks again for all of the info and its lovely to connect. I look forward to reading more from your blog which I found yesterday!

Have a beautiful day @indayclara

Hello again @hive-102879 :)

Thank you again for the guidance, even though it came from one of my mistakes, lolz! And thank you also for the compliment on my writing. I do love it so much and am very excited to share more with you and everyone else.

Chat again soon and have a lovely day!

When I saw that post I knew it was something I wanted to support a little more and so I sent it to curangel for some additional voting.

In respect of communities, there's a few I like a glance at my post feed will tell you which they are and I also have three of my own.

Hi @galenkp & Happy Thursday to you :)

I look for passion, personality and effort when curating and your post had that, as does this one, and so...yep, I followed you.

Coming from someone who has been here since 2017 and has as many notches on their belt as you do, I shall consider the follow a very high compliment then and say a very meaningful "Thank You". I do love to write and yes, I have a gazillion passions, lolz! I am thrilled that they came through!

Thanks also for the info re. the communities. I have been exploring a little more as well and have discovered a few more... like the "Hive Book Club" which I intend to drop my first post in later, yay! The outdoors and more, definitely catches my attention, and the weekend experiences I have already joined, as you know :) But I will definitely be visiting your feed and to see what other communities you share on.

The other is for Lego...that's right, I build Lego. It's ok, you can judge, although I get the impression you're not that way inclined by nature.

Well, I was about to throw lego at you :P and then I read the last part of that sentence, lolz! Your impression was indeed correct. I do my best not to judge others, for a pretty simple reason, and that is, I don't like being judged. A basic philosophy I guess, but it works for me, mostly. Also, I tend to believe that pretty much everyone has something to teach us, whether that comes in expected or unexpected ways, so it is always worth keeping an open mind. Sure, there are always exceptions, but I am speaking "mostly".

I am looking forward to getting to know you, and so many others better as I plod along here and I will be heading over to your blog soon!

bye for now :)

untitled.gif

If you threw Lego at me I'd catch it and add it to my collection. Imagine a monkey catching food someone has thrown at it. I'm a Lego monkey. (Hmm, not the best description I've ever given myself.)

LOLZ! I have heard worse...

(not for you) haha, in general.

Welcome @eliza.anne to Hive.
great to have you onboard.
having read and enjoyed your natural organic flow a lot.
beautiful to see like minded, like hermited ; ) pips on here.
you are with out a doubt a star seed..!
and, appear to be an Old Soul too (@anttn , there comes another one..🙂)
your simple, yet strong character shines through your wards. I do agree to the above comment about your potential future books.
only problem is you have set a high standard for yourself right from post 1. (well, nearly post 1).
happy you (finally) joined Hive and looking forward to reading more. all timing is divine, I believe.
see you around !

Thank you so much @bigorna1, I am really happy to be here and its lovely to meet you!

I think I owe you an apology @bigorna1. I saw this comment notification now, but then saw that I had already replied, but don't recall reading most of what you wrote above. Perhaps I am losing my mind, although I thought that happened a long time ago already, lolz!

It is funny that you called me an old soul actually. My mom always says that to me... and hello @anttn, I am guessing that @bigorna seems we may get along, so I will be on my way to come say hi on your blog soon, lolz!

That is a really kind thing to say, thank you! Always nice to be given such a nice compliment. As for the standard I have set for myself... well, I have always liked a good challenge. Besides, if we are not challenging ourselves daily, then what are we even doing here, right?! :D

So lovely to meet you and I look forward to getting to know you, and @anttn better!

Have a wonderful day!

my fault.
first, I just wrote a short welcome comment.
once I read your post, I felt I had to edit it.
so don´t go blaming me for losing your mind. I´ve enough on my plate 😂

hahaha!!! LOLZ!!! no blame here :D and thanks for coming back again!! Good to know I have not lost the plot!

So... what do I do when I am not staring at the clouds, watching the moon or tanning my butt cheeks on the beach?! Lolz! I do a lot actually!

😆 Mory de risa con el bronceado de nalgas... esto es bueno. jajajaja

I loved your presentation and the truth is that I identify very much with your free spirit. Also with your solitary spirit.

¿Y esto del final?

eliza xxx - What does it mean? 😂

I officially welcome you and look this is serious stuff, that nanixxx officially welcomes you hahaha.... Thanks for sharing and may you be very successful, I'll be joining you.

Nanixxx needs to be more careful when writing, it's not mory but morí 🤣

Morning!

lol, yes I understood that don't worry :D

Hello Eliza. Hive is like a bank, only it's better to put your master password in a safe deposit box. When you have 200 thousand coins in your account, your passive income will be comparable to your salary.

Hi @urri2020 👋

I will definitely keep ALL my passwords in a safe place, thank you. And wow, that sounds promising hey... I am a long way off from there, but as I think most of us know well, every little bit counts right!

Have a wonderful Friday!

welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Hive, I hope you stick with us, its a great place to be if you have the time x

Hi @grindle

Thanks so much! I am trying to make the time, because it seems like a really cool place to make friends and also to share adventures!

That is why I joined, far more grown up and civilised than FB, the more I visit the greater my experience. Meeting new friends and sharing common interests can't best it

Yes, yes, YES!!! It is very exciting indeed!

You should continue writing on this account.
