ONE MONTH!! My Family and I Have One Month To Move Out Of Our House That We Put Everything Into!

in #life7 years ago

Hello Steemit friends, there comes a moment where the worst possible thing in life can just happen, and the worst possible thing becomes your biggest blessing. I am praying that this is that blessing.

10 months ago I found out that my daughter Nala Rose Ford was going to be born. I looked my fiance Nikki in the eye's and said, "My daughter is not gonna be raised in our shitty apartment." Then I got beyond lucky...I found somebody who would do a rent to own with me until August. In the process I completely fixed up this house, made my daughter's room look absolutely adorable, and built my credit up with only one goal in mind....to be a home owner, proud father, and husband.

Then today at 4:30 pacific time, it felt like my entire world came crashing down. I got a call from the bank saying my loan would not approve the amount requested. Then I got a second call from the owner saying that I have one month before I have to move out of his home.

I truly believe this is going to be a blessing in disguise, and that everything happens for a reason. But with a newborn baby I am praying that this blessing happens sooner then later. I do understand that this is not the initial home I wanted to raise my beautiful family in, but I worked so damn hard to make it mine. I invested everything into this house, and was so proud I brought my beautiful daughter into it.

I apologize to all my steemit friends and followers for putting a sad post into the atmosphere, but this is one of the scariest moments that has happened to me. I expect nothing but the best from this point forward, and I know that where we will be in a year is going to be ten times better.

Thankyou for taking the time to watch this vlog, or at least read the blog. Please have a great day and know that you are all amazing. STEEM ON!

Just read you post. It's a scary time so no need to apologize. Your baby is adorable.

Thankyou, she is perfect! Appreciate your comment

'If you haven't struggled, you haven't lived'
May you get all what you deserve... You are a great father..

Thankyou very much! I am beyond appreciative for your comment! That is a true fact! Have a good day!

Sorry to hear of your woes. You seem resolute to make it through. That's probably 90% or more of what counts.

Thankyou very much! I believe it is also!

That's terrible news brother. I can definitely relate on many levels. Keep your head up. Now is the time to get focused more then ever. What can you do? What can you do now? Start fucking doing it now, your new plan needs to get engaged immediately.

Thankyou for this comment! It was real as fuck, and I appreciate that! I have called every realtor and have a meeting tomorrow, and have sold all the firewood I own already...next up is no bills this month, and then focus on the next month! In other words......shit is rolling brotha

You've got the right attitude about it. Something better is going to come along, you weren't meant to be in this house. Your family has a home coming you just need to take a breath and figure it out.

Thankyou very much! You are definitely right! I know we weren't meant for this..!

From One Texan To Another You Know You Want To Help. The good news is you do not have to do anything but upvote and resteem. Let's make this story go viral....https://steemit.com/community/@binkley/could-steemit-crowdfund-usd100-000-to-buy-a-couple-a-house

Ugh, Dillon that is rough. I don't have a lot of steem as I am new here but I can resteem your post. Best of luck !

Thankyou very much:) I honestly appreciate people just taking the time to click my blog! Have a great day

Man, I feel you on this one. I was renting an old farmhouse that the owner wanted nothing to do with. We poured heart and soul into it, rebuilding the deck, replacing the floor in places, remodeling, etc. Then one day the owner's daughter decided she wanted to live there. We ended up in my inlaws' basement with 3 kids and soon one on the way. We tried 3 times to buy something but it always fell through. Finally we found the perfect place for us with a few acres. It was a blessing in disguise, for sure. If it hadn't happened i would still be there fixing up someone else's house instead of living in my own investment. Keep your chin up. You'll get there and look back on it and smile.

Thankyou for your story! That is basically how she was wrote for us.....it is a heart dropping, gut wrenching moment! But I am glad it worked out for the best for you and I know it will all workout for the best with me. I appreciate the kind words

Wish you the best and your daughter is beautiful sending you steemit love, light and blessings.

Thankyou very much, I appreciate every word!

Like @youngogmarqs says, "if you woke up this morning, you blessed."
Man I'm feeling for you, I know how much work you put into that house, but like you said, maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Something bigger and better may just be right around the corner. Just gotta keep your head up man, even through the worst of times. I'll be putting out good vibes for Nikki, Nala, and you! 🙏🏻

Thankyou! I felt like I was stealing his line a little bit when I was saying it....I'm grateful to be here, I am grateful to have two wonderful girls in my life! I'll appreciate the bad times with them and how we get through them

I am SO sorry to hear this news! Damn... :'( :'( It's so hard for young people to get houses nowadays...the struggle is real. You have put in so much work, and to have it stripped away because of the bank saying no, is just totally unjust. We need to change the world!

I appreciate the comment @lyndsaybowes, they really do make it near impossible...and I truly thought I finally had a chance to get a house here! It needs to change.....and it needs to change fast!

I hear you. I'm 36 and I still rent. Canada is the same at the US, just not the same times as our parent's generation. When I see the older folks being hard on our generation, like we're just not working hard enough and saving enough and shit like that, it really gets me angry. They can't see how much the world has changed. This happening to you guys, is no fault of yours, I hope you know that. And I do want to add, that as much as we long to get some land and a place of our own, we have found a place that really makes us feel good. Our landlord is amazing, he lets us do whatever we want (as you may have seen) with is land. And it's a reasonable price too. No matter what, things will work out for you and your beautiful family. Just maybe not the way you expect. You have each other, your daughter has a wonderful Mother and Father, and there's nothing more a child could ever ask for but attention, nourishment and love <3

No it gets worse and worse as we go on....the funny thing is the people insulting the younger generations are the ones with the foreclosures, and who gave us these problems to begin with, I will say that nobody owes anybody anything...but we at least deserve an equal chance to enter this world. Thankyou once again for your awesome words, I will get the ball rolling and find success.

Stay Blessed my friend!! You already have more than some will ever.. A beautiful family!! Keep On Steemin On!!!

We have been in some tough spots before similar to yours. Things always work out the way they are supposed to. We will send up some prayers for you and your family. Hope the guy realizes how much you have done to the house and maybe lets you have some more time. Maybe 6 months and you might be able to find another bank or make enough from steemit.

Thankyou very much sir! I am glad to hear it will workout.. he was very short on the one month term, no room very wiggling there! Thankyou very much for the prayers you are awesome! Have a great day

Could You Crowd Fund It Maybe? Everyone pitch in like 5 or 10 Steem. With everyone buying it will force the price up kinda high too so you could cash out and at significant increase probably. Just a thought. Not sure if anyone has run a successful crowdfunding campaign through the platform. I used to own a crowdfunding website I would have waved the fees for this.

What if everyone took a few minutes to build a post like this.....https://steemit.com/community/@binkley/could-steemit-crowdfund-usd100-000-to-buy-a-couple-a-house

Then everyone would be upvoting it and resteeming it. The whole websites could essentially for a brief moment in time have mostly articles about you. People could just donate their author rewards to you so it doesn't even cost them a thing! I know it is genius.

You just need 10,000 people to raise $10 a post and donate it. It sounds doable to me! Or maybe more how much is the house? So Far I
Have Raised 11.97 SBD for you. I'll send as soon as it pays out. Keep your head up! https://steemit.com/life/@binkley/the-dillon-ford-project-challenge

Honestly....I didn't even think about that! I really didn't want people to think I was using my family for steemit money or anything...this is just a very very sad moment in our lives! But honestly after going through and reading your post...I think that can generate a lot hopefully... like that is an amazing post and you are an amazing person for even thinking it!

Seriously if that was to happen this entire platform would be the craziest and most amazing thing ever!

We just need to ask everyone we know to build a post like the one I built and then donate the earnings. We can at somepoint build a list of every blog post and we all go upvote what we can and try to raise the funds you need. It is worth a shot. we don't have much time. I'm a small minnow we need some bigger fish to jump in to really rocket it.

Plus there have been back in the old days post from like @jeffberwick and others that hit $10,000 plus. @jerrybanfield had some big ones and @craig-grant has some monster payouts.

That's terrible news. Hopefully you get to your goal one day. But, remember, owning a house is not what makes you a good dad or husband. It's great to have those goals and dreams, but a home and a family has nothing to do with a house.

Good luck reaching your goals! Followed, upvoted and re-steemed.

It was very bad news, but it is a giant blessing in disguise! The greatest asset I have is my family, and the way we take on challenges so that is a great way to look at it:) I appreciate your thoughts and advice, the upvotes and resteem means a lot!

Please have a great day!

This is so heartbreaking story and I feel for you and your family ❤️
But your spirit and humbleness is amazing.
It's scary how life can change in a moment.
I wish you all the best of luck and I have done a small thing. Upvoted and Resteemed.
Keep your hopes up and remember miracles happens every day 😊

@saffisara, Thankyou very much for your comment, upvote, and resteem. It does suck alot, but it is gonna be so much better for us at the end of this. It all happens for a reason. I am very optimistic, and I appreciate everything.

My pleasure friend 😊 That is a great spirit and attitude, Im sure everything turns out in the best way. Sended a little randowhale hope that helps... Frustrating sometimes when you don't have enough to give.. Lol
Stay safe and god bless

I just saw that! Thankyou very much:) I am sending blessings back your way.

😊❤️ Have a good night. Take care

It's hard when you put all the effort in, you have such a fabulous attitude, think of it as practice for something better.
Have you ever thought or looked in to buying a tiny house?

Honestly, that was the biggest reason this was so heartbreaking for us...I wish I had the before we moved in videos! We put thousands of dollars of work into the house..But our house is pretty small! I would love having just a small small house! Lol

It will be heart breaking, there must be something better coming.
Do you watch tiny house nation, or hgtv, they have a lot of ideas for tiny living, to building your own home/tiny home, these might be something your family may want to look into.
There are some amazing ideas out there that don't cost a fortune, and that could go with your family's lifestyle, sometimes being pushed to think outside of the box is the blessing.

It really really is...we are looking at property and the idea of getting a prebuilt home! So there is options..we are happy in a way to have this experience together because it shows we can do anything! Ideas like that are pretty freaking cool:) I don't watch HgTV but after looking it up, that would be awesome:)

Maybe you could talk to another bank or credit union, see what they have to say.

Honestly, I would if I didn't run the usda loan and the government loan! It was more of the person selling me the house, that backed out

If that's the case, demand compensation for the improvements you made.

I'm glad that you have your folks to fall back on for a moment. Not looking at the streets.

I tried to do that! It was a no go....I am just grateful I have an opportunity! It just stinks and is somewhat embarrassing because I was gone the day I turned 18 basically lol There house did end up not being an option though......but I did have a better one:)

I'm happy to hear you have a better option. Go ahead and remove all of your upgrades from the current house. Sounds like some unlikable people.

Sorry to hear the bad news, this happened to someone close to me also. Almost exactly like your post. Hope all turns out for the better in the end. Sounds like you have the drive, who knows maybe the home you find now is 10x better than the one you had. Sometimes bad times are the begging of something great!

I'm sorry to hear about the person that's close to you! I have read a couple articles on line of similar situations, it's just crappy and sucks when it happens to you or people close to you! But that's what I'm hoping for:)

I'm sending some whaleshares your way.

Honestly, You are an awesome guy @alao..I have enjoyed all of your posts, and your comments since the day I've been on Steemit. Thankyou very much, please please have a great night!

Youll do fine man. Beautiful daughter congrats! The right place will come. I was in similar shoes. My son was just born and every house we bid on fell through. Finally after almost a year we lucked out on the perfect place and thank God we didnt get any of the previous ones. You will laugh at this one day. Keep your head up. @dillonford

Thankyou very much!Im glad you got the perfect place, being patient and positive only produces a positive outcome! You are correct:) I do believe it will workout for the best and was truly meant to be this way!

I hope everything works out for you guys. We @sharingsociety started just months ago helping the homeless but we want to build this into a very big decentralized organization so that everyone in the world or a local community can help each other in any way needed.

Thankyou very much! I like your goals, I am definitely following you now:)

I haven't read the entire comments but your lease to own should have a period you have to buy. Since you have a legit contract you should be able to stay for the length of the lease or until you have a right to buy if you are making your rent payments on time.

You can always improve your credit score or find a program out there that fits your needs. I would find a good agent to give you advice in your market.

FYI: In SC, people who are doing lease to own and having the money be applied to the purchase can fight that they have equity in the house. Judges can make it then where a landlord would have to foreclose over evict. Again, real estate law can be different in each state.

Give me a call if you want general advice but I would call a real estate attorney and ask a few simple questions. Keep it as pleasant as you can but know your legal rights.

Thankyou brotha for the advice! The lease agreement was up... I tried to get it done, and I could not qualify for the home asking price the seller wanted! The only reason I am actually beyond frustrated was the trust the seller instilled in me....that we would figure it out regardless! I left it out of my post...because I didn't want to make excuses..go into reasoning... I only wanted to explain how things happen for a reason, and when one door closes another opens. I met with a real estate agent today!
I really should have looked into every option before going through with this though...like the money going into the purchase! I was very trusting this whole time lol
