My 20000 Steem Power Acceptance Speech

in #life6 years ago

Today is a big day for STEEM, Steemit, and everything else that runs on this blockchain.

NoNamesLeftToUse - 20000.jpeg

My introduction post earned me a nice, fat $0.00.

I worked on one post, everyday, for eighteen consecutive days after. I earned $0.10 in rewards for that effort.

Yes, I was still learning. Those posts were not great, they're weren't even good, but that didn't mean they were bad, and I knew that.

Then it hit me.

I already knew I was taking an unconventional approach to blogging. My skills had improved, I was feeling more confident rather than less after so much of what some might call defeat, so I decided to turn up the heat.

Boom!

Guts everywhere.

A solid team of curators known as Curie noticed my blog once I started to produce the now defunct Haffanower series.

Those rewards weren't just money to me though. I experienced a rewarding feeling. A rush. Then it was time to make a decision.

Do I buy new shoes with this money, or should I wait, invest, and attempt to prove a point?

Point Proven

Bonus points, for style.

Majority of my posts were still earning under $1.00 after I finally got a taste of what some may call, success.

It didn't matter to me. I decided to continue travelling down the road I was paving for myself one brick and one day at a time.

I was having fun. People were finally noticing how I wasn't being serious in majority of my posts. That was a huge step up because at the time I felt like a dandelion in the middle of that lawn where the guy comes out every morning to mow it with scissors.

The point I wanted to prove to everyone was how anyone can come here, start at the bottom, do their own thing their way, and succeed without taking shortcuts.

Why is this important to everyone and everything?

Because

I read Ned Scott's(and team) message.

The focus now seems to be more about development. Developers are being encouraged to create more content in the form of applications. Fantastic, and yes, we all see how the developers can gain a lot of attention and support from the community. That can be observed on the trending page nearly every single day.

Here is a quote from the post linked above:

We have seen massive growth in the number of third-party applications built on top of the Steem blockchain that are now flourishing. This includes Busy, DLive, DMania, DSound, DTube, Utopian.io, Vessel, and many more! We are very excited to see the innovation coming from our developer community, and we are looking forward to seeing a lot of new applications in the coming year.

It's true, we need roads, and I can certainly respect those who build them. I see why they're important.

What are roads without the cars though?

I'm a car, travelling along, one of many. Without us, these roads are useless.

Without the people contributing content to prove the concepts, all of those applications just end up being dandelions growing through the cracks of an abandoned parking lot, withering away in the sun.

I've been paying attention.

If it wasn't for those of us who came here to Steemit early to blog to our heart's content, there wouldn't be a demand for those applications now, or new ones in the future.

Thousands of us, myself included, helped pave the roads for the developers. Many who started on Steemit now utilize these other apps, because they asked for them.

Because the focus has shifted, this does not mean we should stop checking our mirrors.

The upcoming communities feature to be implemented will not function properly without content producers willing to test them out and be rewarded for their time.

Many people see these new apps pop up, they use them, they love them. Steemit.com is loved by many as well but at times it seems like it's turning into a toll road full of potholes. Not because of bad design, I'm proof that it works just fine.

People think they have to pay to have what I earned. They're being forced to purchase votes with the hopes of getting attention. They're being forced to pay to be robbed of the opportunities I had when I started here. Some of that money is going to developers and witnesses instead of the people those developers and witnesses depend on in order to be able to succeed.

I've Come This Far

And now all I'd like to do is make a simple request.

Rather than making people pay for attention, let's go back to paying attention to them.

Thank You

Everyone.

First off, congratulations!

I was wondering if you were going to do a special post for crossing 20k. Such an awesome milestone for you. I've recently crossed one of my own, 1k, but I did that mostly by buying STEEM and powering it up. I know you're proud of the fact that you have earned everything you have here, and I respect that.

Still, it was an important goal for me. I have had it since I started powering up a month and a half or so ago. For me, I had a look at this beautiful platform and wanted in immediately. I didn't want to wait, and I felt there was an opportunity cost at stake. I could either buy and power up now, or regret it later. I didn't want to wait to be handing out significant amounts of money. Today, my 100% upvote can give someone $0.30. That may not be much per post, but if I vote as much as I'm supposed to I can give out $3.00 every day.

I am not an artist. I am a bit of a writer, for fun, but I am mostly a developer (though I have not really shown this side of me yet here). I can't help but feel a bit guilty after what you said about developers. You're right; all the apps in the world won't make a difference if no one is here to use them. If I keep getting distracted away from my project ideas it will be a non-issue. Still, it may be true that I aspire to help build those roads... but if I someday succeed in that venture, I will also be driving on them, here, with you. I will always strive to be a "giver," not a "taker."

Thanks for all that you do to help the people here, and raise awareness about the issues Steemit has, and mostly... thank you for all the laughs and the interesting artwork so far. I continue to look forward to your next post every day. Thanks for being awesome.

Build the roads. Nobody is stopping you. Just know that they go both ways. Sure, I'm proud of my personal achievements here but I'd like those developers and everyone at the top to know the place is working, they did a good job, and there's someone here willing to prove it. They don't seem to be looking at us as much as they want us to look at them though. That's a one way street, and it's not going in the right direction, for now, but hopefully soon they figure out how to develop a line down the middle. Dammit, I can't fricking talk today without bursting into stupid analogies. Oh well!

"They don't seem to be looking at us as much as they want us to look at them though. That's a one way street, and it's not going in the right direction, for now, but hopefully soon they figure out how to develop a line down the middle"

i sincerely hope they can sort it out asap.....it is demoralizing when u chat up the big guns or dolphins especially when you have a bright idea on how to further promote steemit and they simply ignore u! i have experienced this recently with regards to an idea that i have concerning bringing International NGOs to showcase their work on steemit as well as use the platform as a means of alternative funding for notable projects.... Despite the fact that my idea has been shunned by the big guns, your post has given me the courage to run with the idea; and more than ever before i am determined to acheive my objective and prove that an idea can succeed even without the initial support of the big guns!!!

I did not realize I'd be motivating people today or when I wrote this. I just felt like telling my story and saying a few words.

Just do what you have to do and try to depend more on yourself than anyone else. If you want something bad enough, you'll get it. Frustrating things can and will happen, but don't let that stuff blind you. Keep pushing, work hard, focus on you, you'll get what's yours.

Thanks a million...i will soldier on!!!! Watchout for @fqtee folks-i will surely succeed on this platform.....Cheers to all the small guys trying to be big....See u all at the top asap!

Congrats on your achievement too buddy!

@nonameslefttouse

Pleasure to meet you!

Rather than making people pay for attention, let's go back to paying attention to them.

Yes!!! I agree!

Following you. I love people who think and express themselves just like you did. Awesome stuff.. Glad I met someone else, just like you, who spreads realism like this...

Very cool to meet you. :)

Nice to meet you as well. I saw your post on my feed. Someone had resteemed it. There are plenty of us out there who refuse to pay for those votes and we're doing fine. If you ever have time, have a glance at this post where I compare those votes to crack cocaine. It's about 2 weeks old now. Nobody was defending those vote bots. People are sick of them.

....and I understand why.. :)

Rather than make people pay for attention, let's go back to paying attention to them.

Reading the above left me emotionally imbalanced, I literally shed a tear but this time it's similar to @Surpassinggoogle's "teardrops". Tears of joy knowing that one day I will also share my success story on this platform.
Thank you for @nonameslefttouse for this amazing and inspiring piece.

This is an assurance and encouragement to many of us out there who even felt like giving up not to do so as there's a hope and reward for continuous hardwork and perseverance.

For some people, the level of oppression on the steem blockchain is undeniable. They think it's abnormal to have low payouts on perceived quality contents, but you've proven otherwise through this post. We have to accept that there's a growth process on the steem blockchain and we cannot skip it. And just like my friend @lordjames would say, "we'll have to unlearn many things and relearn in order to speed up our growth process, we'll have to try new things and take meaningful risks".

Thank you for sharing.

Well, I always say one thing. In life you will meet with wolves who wants to tear the system apart. Don't join them. Do what you believe is right and one day you will break through.

Just work together and help build each other up. It takes time. It's slow, but tomorrow will still come, so look forward to it. That's really all I can say, other than thank you. Good luck to you.

Thank you for your kind words, I've taken them into consideration.

Congrats! How active and the quality of your posts is pretty impressive. And thank you for the support. I hadn't realized you were supporting me and I wasn't even follow you. Some fall through the cracks sometimes.

Thank you, and yes, this blog of mine can be quite busy at times. I don't mind feeling virtually invisible some days. Falling through the cracks might be something else I'm good at as well. I still managed to pull this off. Stayed true to myself since day one and haven't looked back. Majority of the content I produce is based on entertainment and I realize it's not for everyone, so I just go with flow.

I remember we've talked in the past now. Your story is one of success and hard work. I can totally see that.

"I'm a car, travelling along, one of many. Without us, these roads are useless." Very well said ! This is the core of Steemit, recognizing this fact is the key, and I hope it won't deviate too much from this philosophy.

Congratulations on the 20 K SP, it's an awesome feat to say the least and a great inspiration to all joining Steemians ! You also didn't have instant success, that's very important to realize. It might sound magical to get paid for blogging but it's a lot of work to get the ball rolling !

Thanks a lot... and that's right too: This did not happen over night. I didn't show up with money to flash around or thousands of followers from another network. What's behind me truly was some of the hardest work I've ever done in my life. ...and I grew up on a farm.

Haha I believe you. I had to put in so many hours of work to get just a little bit of traction. The work has to continue. I find a little time without being interactive and you fall behind quickly. That's why it's important that you love what you do otherwise it will be hard to last in the long run

I was away for five months. I quietly left, didn't say a word. Then I showed up and surprised everyone. I didn't know what to expect. I thought I'd be starting all over again. I was wrong. These people, they had my back. I couldn't believe my eyes, but it was real. I was able to pick up right where I left off. I'm still impressed with everyone and my level of respect for them shot straight through the roof. I'll never forget it.

I also like to surround myself more with the loyal types, instead of playing the popularity contest. If you only concern yourself with money on her you will burn out quickly

you must have some kind of thing for dandelions?

"The upcoming communities feature to be implemented will not function properly without content producers willing to test them out and be rewarded for their time." I think communities are going to help greatly, in the long term. I think once they are implemented, it will be bumpy for a bit, I hope I am wrong. But, I can see how they will greatly help with retention and address some of the issues you bring out in this post.

I have really enjoyed meeting people who think differently than me through the current 'fire hose'

The communities project will have it's ups and downs. The idea came before a few of the problems we have now, to address the problems we had then. It's a slippery slope now. If we solve the old problems but include the new problems, we're back to square one. These are growing pains though. We're testing an incomplete product.

The way things are set up now, I prefer to think of it as a park full of buskers. That exists in every big city all around the world. It's a model that works. Segregation on the other hand, it's not always the best. Organization is a good thing though. If it's a fire hose now, I'll still be going with the flow, regardless of how much pressure there is. Not many can take what they have now and make it work for them. I learned a lot from MacGyver.

P.S. You should make some dandelion dishes someday. They're delish!

Damn that was good matey chops!! We had very similar beginnings. Well as everyone who has made anything of themselves here has!

I think the same everytime I see more focus on everyone else and those who buld the roads

There are many out there like us, that is true. With so many more new members now, one would think the trail we broke would be a paved highway to success by now. Instead, it's like they added speed bumps and forgot to put up the signs to warn travelers. Then they turned their backs and went on lunch break. We finally hear back from them, after all this time, only to find out thousands of people weren't given any credit for their efforts. Hopefully, in next year's message, when they address failures, they'll mention how they forgot about everyone.

I was just talking today about everyone's different roles on Steemit and how they are equally important! The techies are of course necessary but the creatives are equally necessary. No one will come here and/or stay if there is not interesting content. It's typical however of techs to just assume their contributions are more important. How do I know this? I used to be married to one. 🙈

I watched your show today. It's true, everyone plays a critical role in this. The entire plan Ned and his team laid out simply won't work without people like us. Mcdonalds customers don't flip their own burgers simply because someone developed a spatula.

Wow. That was beautiful. In a brief way, you captured the essence of curation groups like @curie, and reminded us of every thing Inc. is missing. You got a new follower 😀

Thank you. I still see Curie in action. So many of the new members I've been trying to help eventually earn the same rush I felt because of their combined efforts. I see their posts get noticed and the comments afterwards once they finally get the attention they deserve and it reminds me, of me. I know it feels good and I know it helps motivate people to continue on. Thanks again.

Congrats @nonameslefttouse! You've always been a passionate user on the website, going through the motions even when shit keeps hitting the fan on steem lol. This is your least insane post by the way :P

Thanks @kevinwong, for the words and the visit as well. I think when shit hits the fan, I just call it a shit shower and start lathering up. Does that help make this sound insane? I hope so. Certainly don't want to be losing my touch.

Bravo, that was a great acceptance speech!
unnamed.gif
You're an inspiration to all the minnows out there to keep working hard on their blogs and creations. Keep it up!
Congratulations on the 20K SP, here's to 20K more! 🥂

One woman in that gif is doing the Night at the Roxbury car dance. One is headbanging. I don't want to know what's on the back of that gray haired woman's head on the..or is that guy? Hmmm. Oh! Hi, didn't see you there. Thanks. Cheers!

Just focus on that gentleman in the front damnit!

I got a very nice welcome wagon when I came here. Think my intro post is still my second highest paying post in the short 250 days I’ve been here. I was very blessed to get a little taste of reward so very on. A lot of kindness and wonderful people where around me back then.

A lot of amazing things are being created for Steemit. A game I been playing on Steemit I think is still in beta. It got some very cool and active developers in it. A few times a week they are updating something or talking about new stuff they are working on.

Congratulations on earning 20k SP.

Now excess me I need to go bleach my eyeballs after finding a poem that had over $200 worth of SBD crack injected into it.

The development world is where it's at now, apparently, and it's great to see progress. As long as no one gets left behind, things are looking up. We'd never leave grandma sitting on the side of the road just because that hitchhiker is fricking gorgeous but there's only so many seats. At least put grandma on the roof rack.... wtf? How's that for an analogy?

Sadly those who don't change get left behind. Video and written format are the future. I don't do video so i'll just enjoy things while they last.

The more sites like youtube push out content creates the more they will look for sites that will allow them to still do video.

We live in a world of automation now where human life is not valued much. Poor grandma would not be left on side of the road she be put into a wood chiper to make room for more automation.

Congratulations! That is quite a milestone you've hit, and I love that you did it organically, with blood, sweat, and probably some tears. You deserve many rewards for your efforts...and I'm so happy for you. Today is my one month anniversary, and I look to people like you to give me the determination to hang in there, so thanks for encouraging the little minnows...plus, you are one hella funny guy!

Thank you. I truly hope you folks can find a way. I still see the potential here. I don't want to feel like I was lucky though. People shouldn't have to sign up and then feel like they missed out. I still think what I've been able to accomplish is sitting on the table for everyone else as well. ... my funny is failing me today though. I'm not the best at this being serious stuff. When it happens my brain likes to shut down. I can hear what sounds like water dripping inside my head. I'll be okay though. I don't think rambling is helping my situation much. I better just leave it at that.

You, sir, are one of the steemians I admire the most. You know it.

Now I admire you more.

I'm a car, travelling along, one of many. Without us, these roads are useless.

I think the platform is great. But I feel kinda "left alone" by the people that, I think, should take care of me on this.

Sometimes I feel not only the road is getting increasingly difficult. Sometimes I feel some people (People with power, whales) are intentionally making it difficult. For motives I do not fully understand. Reasons that have to do with numbers and charts and money...

But, I tell you, I am here to stay. I am an artist. I want to live by making art, the same way you do. And you are here, as a proof that it is actually possible to do it here.

I want to do it here, no matter how much I have to work for it.

Congratulations on your well-earned power. You deserve it. And much more.

I hope I will be around to congratulate you for every success you have.

Thank you very much. As artists, we're in direct competition but that does not mean I'd prefer to be on top while others stay behind. We're in this together. The other day I had to ask an artist who was spending over $1000 per post just to trend if he was trying to force the rest of us artists to do the same just to be able to compete. There's no way an artist who wants to start from scratch here can compete with that. Steroid Olympics. No thanks... and that's not good for business either. It's doing far more harm than good. Quite selfish as well.

Thanks again though! I hope to see you doing well soon enough.

Over $1,000 per post??

Is that even a... thing... that actually happens here??

Yup. Over $1000 US, per post, every post, just to trend. They don't even tell people how they got there. They mislead others into thinking their work is there because it is popular, when really, they bought the slot. Scroll down in my blog and read the Crack post for more information.

Well-said mister! It sometimes feels like we 're producing and producing but we don't spare some time to consume (I'm talking about posts). We are posting with such greed that we forget to lend an ear (and eyes) to others' voices (and posts).
And like you said it, developers are good, without them this place wouldn't exist, but we need to grow a population of quality posters for the developers to have someone to work for.

Maybe my comments reads weird, IDK, I was about to go to bed,but I saw your post on my feed and wanted to read it. Apologies and goodnight.

Your comment is just fine. I know what you mean. I spend a lot of time producing my content. I spend more time talking to you folks after. In between all this, I still try to get out and vote. I've been doing it manually since I started. It takes time, but it's also worth it. Even with all the time I spend here though, I still can't get to everyone's post. Still, when I do miss a post and go back only to see a small handful of votes on a post I missed, I can only shake my head. It can't just be an individual effort. If I miss one, there should be plenty of others willing to pick up the slack. One big vote shouldn't be what makes or breaks a post. That's just adding to the stress of not being able to keep up.

Have a good sleep!

Oh, I have been trying to keep up with so many blogs that I end up missing people too. It is hard, especially when you want to help a specific community. Steemit is not about just getting something published and wait 7 days to make $ out of it. It's all in the interaction. And interaction takes time and devotion. You know that very well.

It also annoys me a bit that work, housekeeping and other activities don't leave me enough time to do something even better than I used to. When you are a perfectionist, it hurts :P
Well, we'll just keep doing our best!!

Have a great weekend! :)

Congratulations! So awesome, though of course it doesn't surprise me in the least having loved your blog for more than a year. Way to fit in the message every one needs to hear. Definitely resteeming this ;)

Sorry for the delay. I'm having issues keeping up tonight. Thanks for the resteem but more importantly, thank you for being such a long time supporter of what I'm doing here. You paid attention. So did a few others. That's all it took to get this far. I used to complain about low views, never the rewards. That's why! LOL

Not a problem, it's Friday :) How can people not pay attention, you're a blogging rock star! Nope, you've never complained about the rewards, that's fact.

How can people not pay attention, you're a blogging rock star!

...and nobody even knows my name. :)

What do you mean, you're widely known as Mr. Himself.
;)

Geez. You always inspire me. This made me feel so much better. I've been here for two weeks and most of the time I feel I won't make it. It was nice reading your story about how you too started the same way. I'm not sure if it was easier before. I do find it rather difficult right now, but I'm trying my best and I will continue to do so. I thank you once again, I'm glad I follow you, I'm glad I can read your blogs everyday and have a laugh while at the same time, I get inspired <3

I'm not sure if it was easier before.

We earned more before, in a sense. We didn't know it at the time though and we had no way of predicting the value would rise. A dollar then was a dollar then. If I was earning $1 US worth of STEEM back then, that might have given me 10 STEEM. I had no idea those posts with $1 would be worth so much today. I'd say it wasn't easier because you can still earn a token today that might be worth far more in the future. I believed in this place, still do, didn't buy those shoes for $40 because those would have turned out to be the most expensive cheap shoes I ever owned....if that makes sense. Think about tomorrow when you look at what you earn today. With these developers going into high gear and provided people start paying attention to each other, you'll be in the same boat. You might not have as many tokens, but the value is still on the rise.

Well done!

What are roads without the cars though?

Nice =]. Platforms can be built all day, but in the end they're only useful if someone stands on them.

You damn right. I don't mind standing on this one. It's sturdy, and it comes with a ladder. Above me is another platform. I'm only on my first story.

Analogies are fun.

How do toll bridges and parking lots factor in to your analogy?

I have no idea... I'll have to tap out on that one. It's a new day. Today's brain theme is music for some reason. You said parking lot and that "don't know what you got till it's gone" song about parking lots entered my mind and won't leave.

Haha nice =]

aaah, you little trendsetter you!!

20000 SP would be a healthy trend to start. Unfortunately, I didn't spend an arm and a leg so I will not be trending today or... ever. LOL

Ah, sigh, the good old days when trending was based on contents.. and people like us still had a chance to actually make it there...

I've been trying to get the attention of those who can change things for months. We could all have our fair chance at the trending page back again if they would simply move the promoted posts to the promoted tab once the use of those bots is detected. Something so simple... One little thing that could potentially boost morale for thousands of people... and it just seems to be falling on deaf ears.

Sorry, what, I didn't hear that...
Oh right!

That is actually Such a great idea. I remember how exciting it was to reach the trending page - even if it was on the third or fourth page LOL Well maybe they will listen when you make it to trending :D
Another thing, I just ended up staring at that ovation gif for 15min after reading your comment there THANKS

Wo-hooo! Congratulations on 20,000 SP!

I think that for success of this platform, quality content writers, manual curators and quality content rewording bots (such as @gentlebot and @thing-2) are the key.

Cheers! : )

Thanks and I agree with you though I'm unfamiliar with those bots you mention. Robots aren't good at understanding humor so maybe that's why I don't see those names around.

Congratulations, mate. You deserve all the success you have. You are an inspiration to me (drop a comment to my last post you punk for including you to my Hall of Fame 😂). You work way too hard and are 100% original with your art and writing. You are a credit to Steemit and the platform really needs steemians lile you. Real talk ❤

I appreciate those kind words. I'll head over to your post now. Thanks for the heads-up.

Yes, paying attention to them most important then making people pay attention.. That is how we learn and grow. People mostly don't realize this point and spending their time for the small. I believe that what we learn now it will be our power at the next stop of the road.
Great speech there. Thanks for sharing. Hugs from Spain.

Congrats on the milestone! That's a major one! It's always nice to read peoples journeys here and also to read words like this discussing the importance of taking care of the good members of the community who work hard to build this place instead of on development of tools and apps. You mention thoughts I think myself of why people seek out pay for vote bots...it's become one of the few ways to get past a wall built that keeps newbies down. The system is very unbalanced and I see with friends I've invited to join recently how much harder it is to be a minnow. It's good larger members of the community like you realize the problem and discuss it so more are aware.

If everyone buys those damn votes, they just end up in the same boat. Not getting noticed, no comments, low views, low votes but each one has $100 beside their post. It makes the rewards meaningless. People need to realize they're not entitled to getting attention. They post, they sit, they wait. Sometimes it seems like they're building their own walls. They want to get noticed, but they don't want to do anything to get noticed. I do put some blame on them as well. And now that so many buy votes, that tells me they don't need or want mine, so I don't vote for them. I'd prefer to give my share to people who are trying... and I'm not the only one who thinks like that. I'm rambling because I'm currently suffering from a man-cold and I took some fancy pills.

Congratulations on your 20K! You earned it, the old-fashioned Steemit way. Which is hard to pin down because there's so much constant change, lol. With so many more people here on Steemit these days, it does seem like more of us 'old timers' don't run into each other as often as we used to. I picture us all in our cars, going down the road with the windows up and the radio on high, and we've shrunk down to be the wizened old folks that can barely see over the steering wheel. We're in our own little world, just trying not to get run over by the newer, faster cars. My strategy is to stick to the back roads where there's not much traffic! ; )

Enjoy your 20K - in every way!

I've been meeting a lot of great new folks. Trying to use this 20K to help as many as I can. Starting to wonder if it's even worth it. New roads are getting built, but it seems so many are out just to rip them up and abuse them. The incentives to keep going.... I dunno... Maybe I just need some time off.

Some of the new roads might fit your work really well. I don't know if you saw this post about using the SMTs to manage digital art. It seems so suited to your work. Kind of the next step with your art.

Congratulations @nonameslefttouse. Is there a day I don't visit your blog. I don't think so. I have been hooked on this blog ever since I discovered it. I'm less than 120days on this platform and it's not been easy getting rewards for the work I do but I have also gotten some word of advice from your piece.

Thanks and best wishes!!!

Resteemed

I appreciate your support. Those rewards, they're not supposed to be easy to get. People have to work for them. What I did wasn't easy, at all. It's hard to look at that value and not want to spend it as well. That takes more work. Anyway, thanks for the Resteem!

Those rewards, they're not supposed to be easy to get. People have to work for them.

I know right. I have got to understand the fact that to succeed in life, irrespective of wherever one finds oneself, one must build a good relationship with people. In other words, no man is an island. I need you to survive, you need me to survive. This works hand-in-hand with hard work.

Cheers!

You did a good job and you have what so many people did not have. The patience to wait and to stay with your content as you know what you do.

This is great to see, but so many of the new users are different, looking for quick results and don‘t have this Patience.

I found by accident that a weekly activity, where I motivate people to create content by having some simple rules, I a guidance they love and with the topic of beer, many people have even an emotional topic from their live. This is the car I drive on steemit and this is something I love to do.

Thanks for you Post and congrats to you 20,000

Those who seek instant gratification forfeit their futures in the process.

I tend to write, or a least try to write humor, more often than not. That seems to lift spirits and I enjoy doing it. Every now and again though I have to take a break, get a little bit serious, say a few words that I feel are important. This was one of those days.

Thanks for stopping in. I like beer. I'll follow along.

I hate to say it, but it is clearly a matter of supply and demand. (I am also not a developer) There are more people willing to blog then there are people who know how to "Develop", i.e. Build roads.

The USA didn't move into being a wealthy country without Roads, Rails and oil.

Congratulations on 20,000 and the content creators will have their day, when we have projects and communities fighting for bodies.

The USA is wealthy? :)

By the way. Thank you!

haha, well we were once. Good point.

What we actually learn by looking at history is how important the people truly are. Corporations and politicians gave jobs to the outside world so their own people could buy things with money they didn't have. We can easily make the same mistakes here with our own mini country full of communities... and, unfortunately, I see some of those mistakes in the making, here. But remember though, I'm just some guy from Canada who tries to write jokes to go along with weird images that come from my brain. It's just my opinion.

What? Are you telling me humans might continue to repeat behaviors they are trying to change? Good Lord! We better tell someone. ;)

haha, I enjoy your thoughts, art and opinions. I'm glad your brain spits them out.

I guess my brain is like a llama... whatever that means.

First, I want to congratulate you for your hard earned 20K. Serious, but very post about your way to success in steemit and the steemit future. I belive you are a unique, at least your humor is. You have earned a lot of fans and its all because of you. I wish you the best on the road ahead and I hope I will be enjoying your humor for many moons ahead.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll be able to keep mooning everyone, I mean, keep doing what I do for a few more moons at least.

I'm inspired! I feel same way your intro post made you feel sometimes, but quitting is no option. I love steemit!

I like that attitude. Best of luck to you.

Congrats to you for hitting such a milestone! Building organically is not easy to do in this day and age on any platform so that is very commendable. I am just starting out on Steem really and am looking forward to the challenge of building from scratch and forming alliances because it seems that alliances are needed in order to succeed. Thanks so much for sharing your milestone and hopes for the future of Steem!- Ivy

We have friends, fans and followers. Treat them with respect, never like a statistic. That seems to help a lot here. Without them, we're going nowhere.

No one should ever be treated as a statistic or number, so I agree with you on that one. We should all build each other up as a community in order for Steem to prosper. To your success, Ivy

Great ending sentence... You are a great example on this platform indeed, one of my motivations to keep going for it :D

It's a strange feeling being in a position now where, apparently, I'm a motivator. That wasn't in the brochure, but I don't mind offering encouragement. It's a honor, actually. Thank you, and keep it up.

Congrats on your 20k SP
I'm also in that 0$ phase and trying different things right now.
Anyways, your posts are hillarious.
I've never read your posts with a straight face.
Thank you for bringing the smiles to our faces.

You'll find your way, if you choose to look. and you're welcome! Thanks for enjoying what I do. It means a lot to me.

i'm gonna resteem this one. I'm being followed mostly by plankton steemians just like me and i find this a very stimulative, encouraging post. It's nice to see someone that started with nothing, invested nothing buth time and effort and has such a nice result. If you are a regular car like you name it, you are deffinetly a porche where i am the Toyota you started with. I should make this post into a background for my pc just so i can look back at it at any time if find it hard to keep believing in a succesfull future for me on steemit. Thanks for the encouragement!

I read posts way back when I started about people finding success here. It was common to hear such a thing. Thanks for the resteem. The whole point was to give people hope, prove it works, prove a point. I'm not the only one either. There are plenty of people out there who started with nothing and slowly built up. It doesn't happen overnight though. Realistically, this was and still is a challenge. If you're up for it, it's there for the taking.

I’m not surprised that steemiens like @curie and others did eventually notice you thanks to your funny ways of writing and Haffanower series. I’m surprised it took them sooo long. I guess it’s something every great steemien has to go through. First to go through these frustrating times, when you work so hard and try to do the best you can and still get only a few cents reward. Then some 🐳 notices you and gives you a great inspiration and all of the sudden you feel rewarded for your hard work. And here you are with 20 000 SP.

It's like anything in life, isn't it? Start out small, add some good sustenance, grow big.

Rather than making people pay for attention, let's go back to paying attention to them.

Awesome posts!......ya a great thinker i must say, steemit actually did change her marketing slogan once from "Your voice is worth something" to "Money talks".

What does this tell us?

Does this not hint to us that world of elites and common masses are replaying here as well. This is not a fault in the system like you said, the roads, its a fault in the cars!

We all need to see a mechanic!😏

I like that analogy at the end.

Thanks

I guess some of your word play is rubbing off one me already 😏🤗

It's fun isn't it!

Already at 20,000, holy macaroni salad!
Congrats, man. All of it well deserved by a fabulous man.

I had to put this post on hold for a few hours while I waited for previous posts to pay out just to be able to buy the STEEM with the SBD and make it official. But yeah! Big day...

I so agree. Paying attention to each other works so much better. It sure beats cutting dandelions with scissors. When you work with a community you get more done. People watch out for each other and you don't miss the dandelions because they're all taken care of

Paying attention worked before. It can work again.

Thank you for sharing this, being new in something is always hard, I'll try to keep doing my best in here, I know I'm just learning and I certainly won't be using bots, I will do this my own way. Thanks again bro.

You're welcome, and good luck to you.

Thank you bro, I'll do my best.

Congratulations. You are really a big inspiration for all of us. Happy to see your success. Hope you will achieve your desired goal soon. God bless you.

Thank you.

You are most welcome.

A great post, It was only a fewshot weeks ago I posted by first song with ideas of the multitudes flocking in with cries of "more! more!!" ..well, yes, your guess, i am still wating :)
However, failure can indeed not live with persistence and things have improved, without the artificially-induced promotion.
Anyway, I posted the same debate regarding voting robots etc, the concencus seems always to be content over reward, however i would say most of few who responded als suggested ghey would 'play the game' in order not to have to that at a later stage. A little bizzarre and somewhat ironic.

Anyone who gets caught cheating in a race will attempt downplay and justify their actions. They just find a good lie to tell themselves, and believe it.

I'll try to help as much as I can... but there are thousands of others out there who should be doing the same as well.

Exacto amigo, y te agradecemos por eso, lamentablemente hay pocas como tu y por eso hayqe valorarte eres una gran persona

20,000 is good, but I want you to get at least to 100,000.
So, waiting for your next milestone at 30,000.
And don't even think of slacking!!

100000? LoL... that's an expensive goal. We'll see how it goes.

Nonono, it's not expensive at all. Just think about it as a normal average future goal.
But for now, the next step is 30,000 of course.
And actually, numbers don't really matter. Only matters - to improve the quality of your content and enjoy what you do. So you naturally get to that point!
I really believe that you can do it, gogogogo!!

Quite funny how you are an early bird on steemit but your username clearly states no name left to use😂

I know how blogging must have been then cause the steem currencies were very low and making good money from it requires alot thats I personally respect anyone who has been here since then..

The name has actually been with me for about a decade now. It's a long story...

We were here, working, for six cent STEEM at one point, with no way of knowing if it would ever increase in value. Thousands of us dedicated much of lives to help keep the place afloat.

WTF....!!
6cent..😫
And we were all panicking when it fell to $2😂

Success indeed and you're right that there is no shortcut to success. The road maybe steep but success is sweeter when effort has been exerted. Thank you for this inspiration sir. I am on my 2nd month here in the network and still working on things. I'm sure there is something along the way for me, I will be patient :)

Two months here can feel like an eternity, yet it still seems to find a way to fly by once you look back. Good luck to you.

Great job, you have accumulated 20,000 steemy funny moneys. Now evolve or perish!

Thanks.

Now evolve or perish!

Only the strong survive.

WOOOW Seriously you just give me tons of courage with thos awesome post.
and I started to believe that I cam make something awesome very soon.
Thank you and Keep it up.
