It is with great joy in my heart that I want to share with the amazing members of this wonderful steemit community that I AM A MILLIONAIRE! Someone might say, did I just hear her say millionaire? Yes millionaiare by my country's standard. I checked my steemit account balance this evening. What did I see? $10,184.
Now $10,184 * 360 NGN =3,666,240 going by the current exchange rate Yes, 3.6 cool million naira.
I could easily have kept my mouth shut and not reveal it to anyone, although nothing is a secret on the blockchain. However, the main reason for writing this post is for the sake of others who are still in doubt of the fact that STEEMIT IS CHANGING LIVES FOR THE BETTER.
A PART OF MY STORY
Everyone has a story, I have mine. I am a Nigerian woman, who graduated from college /university in 1999. About a year after graduation, in the year 2000, I was mobilized and recruited into the compulsory one year national youth service corps (NYSC) program.

With fellow National Association of Catholic Corp (NACC) members (3rd to the left in my corp member attire), Abuja chapter at St. John Paul II Papal ground, Abuja. 
After serving my country for one year and 'passing out' of the NYSC program in July 2001, the search for job began. This search lasted for years. I'm glad now that I faced that challenge then, because it made me look inwards in order to understand my strengths better and look for other opportunities to serve humanity, which I did and I'm still doing. In 2001, I got a private job with a company, ALFMATIN VENTURES, Abuja that use to sell Nigerian telecommunications limited (NITEL) scratch cards. Alfmatin put a little over 1,000,000 NGN into that business. We use to buy 1 million naira scratch cards daily from NITEL, with a discount of 200,000 naira. The market was very good then as we sold all scratch cards with a profit of 100,000 naira, making a total of 300,000 naira daily. I was ALFMATIN's secretary, cleaner, messenger as his only employee and earned 15,000 naira for all the job. Please bear with me for the long story. I counted 1 million naira cash every day, money that was not mine. I started asking myself and my creator, WHEN WILL I COUNT MY OWN MILLIONS?
Two months before I left Nigeria in 2010, after completing my master of science (M.Sc) degree in Medical Biochemistry, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), I got my very first regular job as a Biology tutor in Shallom Academy, Nsukka, Enugu State of Nigeria. I earned 15,000 naira/month, because it's a private institution. Tutors in state and federal high schools earn 3-4 times more.
Fast forward to 2012. I got an 'enviable job' with the Embassy of Nigeria, Belgrade-Serbia in October, 2012, where I earned 8,400 euros/year. I was barely able to save 100 euros/month, had very little time for my studies, which is the primary reason why I'm in Serbia. When I had had enough of all the threats and harassment from both management staff and one fellow local staff, an agent of the Charge D'Affaires a.i., I threw in the towel and honorably resigned in September, 2016.
Thank goodness for family support. My family members have been very supportive since I resigned and I am grateful to them for that. I am the kind of woman who always want to be financially independent. My mum raised me like that & my husband can attest to that fact. Meanwhile, I started managing 2 facebook fan pages ;one dedicated to health matters (in my field of public health practice), the other dedicated to crptocurrency matters. I also manage a facebook group, similar to my facebook health page.Then came one blessed day on the 17th of March, 2017 (6 months after my resignation from the Embassy), while I was surfing the internet, I stumbled unto STEEMIT website. After reading what is written on the landing page of the website, I decided to sign up immediately. My first steemit post was submitted on the 18th of March, 2017. Today, 2.5 months later, my steemit account is worth $10,000.

OPEN SECRET ABOUT THIS SUM OF MONEY
Steem power (SP) is the open secret to how come about this kind of amount in my account. I have been powering up/accumulating steem power since I began my journey in steemit. Little by little power up every now and then. Thanks to one of my siblings. When he sends me money, I use it to quickly power up instead of spending it on things that are not of so much value. So I encourage you to always leave steem power in your account. The more steem power you have, the greater your rewards. Watch my video tutorial on how to power up steemit account using fiat. The process is the same when you want to power up using cryptocurrency. The only difference is that you skip the step of withdrawing money from your bank account. Use bitcoin, ether or bitshares to buy steem power for your steemit account. Other ways to get steem power (SP) are first to earn steem and steem backed dollars (SBD) by writing very good posts, curating , voting after which you can power up the steem.

MY OWN BIG BROTHER AND PERSONAL PERSON, @richguy, thank you very much. Don't worry, just give me the vote that you have now, it will count for my reputation in steemit. It's not just the money that matter, but reputation. Proverbs 22:1 states ''a good name is better than riches''. Money is very good, but reputation is better. That we can only get from the positive contribution which we make in whatever organisation and group we belong to. I'm not praising myself, but I know fully well that The Embassy of Nigeria will forever miss my contribution, especially during our events where we had to showcase Nigeria, Nigeria people and culture. My culinary/cooking skills, organisational, Serbian language proficiency, singing skills (I sang the Nigeria & Serbia national anthem during our independence day celebratation, October 1st in 2014 and 2015 consecutively), good communication skills etc. was a plus for the Embassy. Now, I've moved on. Certainly, you will get there and I'll be very glad to celebrate you. I love celebrating people, especially those who make positive impact in the society and community in which they belong. Cheers.

It's just that with steem at $2.50, it's more difficult. However, if one is an active daily trader in the coinmarket, he/she can stiill earn decent cryptos to use for power up. In Venezuela 1 million Bs is less than 200USD !! The salaries in Venezuela are terrible. A "good regular job" is something like 50USD or less.
@nenio Really? I never knew it was that bad in Venezuela. In Nigeria, a million NGN is equivalent to 2,724 USD (today's exchange rate). Until I saw $3,000 in my steemit account, I dared not proclaim myself a millionaire. Thanks for the good will and your contribution.

Thank you so much, @barrydutton for the acknowledgement, commendation, and best wishes. Oh yes, the letter. I refrained from not adding the official letters I received from my former boss, which clearly shows how I was being harassed in the Embassy. It all began with a verbal threat right in his office, after which it turned to official threats with a memo and using a fellow local staff (his puppet and agent) against me. I had a terrible experience ! It wasn't like that when my former Ambassador was still the head of mission, but as soon as the Ambassador left in February, 2016, the persecution began. So for 6/7 months, my former boss and his cronies tormented, harassed and threatened me. Then on the 2nd of September, 2016, I just decided to leave them for good and today I'm very glad that I made that decision. It's almost impossible to fight a system that is hell bent on bringing you down. The only thing is to rise above them, which is what I have done. I really appreciate your comment.

I've been an activist and harassed by the "state" and related AGENCIES -- so I really understood and appreciate what you dealt with.
It's quite tough to be an activist. Call me an activist, because I am one. I was the only one in that office who used to really speak out fearlessly, but politely. My colleagues then looked up to me to help err their views, because they were scared of being relieved of their jobs. Anyway, all that is past. I'm very happy with my new found freedom, which led me to discover steemit.
