I see some stress forming over HF19 needlessly
I know today is exciting due to the nature of the HF19 empowerment going around. We all worked hard here and finally seeing a push ahead from the amazing dev team and system but there is some lingering fears I am hearing as I chat around about this event today.
Right now POLONIEX has their Steem wallets down for maintenance due to the HF. This might be a little blessing in disguise to limit everyone from going nuts and cashing out in droves. Sadly though I went to Bittrex to see how we are doing and it appears people are dumping their extra earnings right now, I get it...sure that was going to happen but I hope everyone here for the long term keeps in mind a little stall to sell could help everyone in the community.
Right now we have a huge opportunity to add some Steem Power to our wallets which can build us up to the top if we view Steemit as a huge long term investment. If we treat this like a huge gold rush we could crash this coin for a bit and I would hate to see that happen. So as a public service announcement I wanted to post this and remind everyone to think in the long term, protect your investment and not low ball your worth due to the new found wealth showing up right now. There is more of that to come if we be vigilant and invest wisely with Steemit.

I get it though, we have bills to pay, I also have to slip out some of my earnings now and then to provide so its clear to me that we all have our own needs with our personal earnings. Just remember one thing, holding Steem Power is money in the bank as well, consider that your savings account and your huge factor in earning more down the road. I sure don't want to be the guy banking out and regretting it later.
Enjoy the excitement that HF19 provided but lets make sure we keep the Steemit dream alive for all.
Some great points made. I'm in it for the long term, so I'm not worried if there is a temporary contraction. Pull backs are natural parts of the market cycle and allow new money to enter in at cheaper prices while others sell off profits. This new hardfork will also encourage new people to join steem once they see that you don't have to be a "whale" to monetize your continent. I upvoted and resteemed.
I totally agree, pull backs in the market are healthy and show a true economy forming, and its is so great some equality has finally formed here where its limited within other coins. My basic view is to just stress we keep the long term in mind as we profit. I get not everyone is here for that but just kind of point out we must maintain to keep us profitable long term. I really appreciate the upvote and resteem, hope I come across with a message of positivity because its truly a moment everyone should celebrate
I'll be a long term holder with you. We are still in the early adoption phase in my opinion. I see no reason to cash out anytime soon.
I feel the very same way, we have a good jump start so we might as well bank back for when the mass crowds come in.
I've never cashed out any of my steem power and I've seen the price rise from 20 cent to the recent high. There's definitely benefits in holding.
I agree, its always best to maintain that long term plan and I personally plan this to be a full time long term gig myself. I just figured remind them before they all go nuts lol...there is a rush going on I seen on Bittrex so we may have a recovery phase ahead after this if people don't kind of space it out lol
It was bound to happen. If you think deeper into people have probably sold from fear of people selling and the price dropping. It's a funny cycle.
It is a very funny cycle. Working over at PIVX taught me a lot and I guess I am not like the usual traders anymore now. I only see long term goals and funny how these guys sit and watch charts minute by minute, you only make real money long term and scrape change just waiting on a rise come in 10 minutes lol. But they play it that way and they cause the volatility but maybe in time they will grasp the real way to earn.
YES... This is a Very Important Post for everyone on STEEMiT --> from Whales to Minnows.
However, should the STEEM price go lower, it will give many minnows the opportunity to actually purchase STEEM and quickly acquire much more voting power.
It will certainly incentivize everyone here to reassess the truly incredible, long-term strength of the Steemit Community and the corresponding long-term value of STEEM, the currency.
...AND perhaps HF19 will encourage & motivate both minnows & dolphins to save up their STEEM Power rather than spend it elsewhere outside of the STEEMiT community.

I couldn't agree with you more. Don't get me wrong I see nothing but positive roads ahead now but I just concern with a mini sell off causing a huge correction to come that could take adjustment time. Either way the long term looks great now
I have always traded my steem dollars for Steem and then power it up ! I think all that cash out will regret it later .
Same here, I got bills and do send off only what is needed for the family, I am heavily though about to make sure I accumulate Steem Power. I look at it as savings, figure get so high up there that articles are my weekly paycheck and I have a back up for the future

I can't wait for my payouts to roll in so I can get some more steem power. HF19 is a blessing to a lot of us, but i agree with you. We NEED to be responsible atleast until we understand the scope of this.
Exactly, get that money of course but with a wise play to keep the market alive. I love to keep it coming in long term but I seen on Bittrex its dumping like mad lol....just to kind of remind people the importance we protect this blessing for all.

As you say we all have to pay bills, there sure will be a period of adjustment but lets consider powering up some of our rewards at least each week so that we continue to stabilise the platform.
Exactly, we should really invest with the power given to us, cash out what we need but seriously maintain the future of Steemit. Hate to make the dev team regret the help they just gave lol

natural market reaction, i won't be worried about any market crash with this coin... let the free market do its thing... the great thing about capitalism and the free market, the thinkers, investors and those with the balls to buy when everyone is selling always win... look at forbes list... check their story... if you believe in something you would be asking folks to sell it to you... I understand where you coming from but don't worry let the free market work
Oh I agree, more or less this is a reminder to those about to go wild with a gold rush mentality. Have a few friends here getting swept up so figured I would nudge a little to make them remember the long term goals here. Your so very right, you don't make good selling with the herd, always best to pick up their dropped investments...that i learned well into my scope of trading thankfully. no problem, well I trade as well, so I am always taking notes... i can certainly say, at facebook current valuation, Steemit is worth five times that amount long term, so it only makes sense to keep adding to your portfolio... once the development team and community continue to take calculated risk, its only a matter of time....remember me when you are rich my friend "Opportunity favors the brave" and "The patient man always win"..feel free to send some steem my way
We definitely think a like, I say the same thing about Facebook being a key reason why Steemit is way more valuable. If Facebook can make as much as they have then this over here should be well above that considering the use case is much more enticing for all. Only the brave bank on the opportunities, that I see every day
if we were getting 400 to 500 a post then this wouldn't be a problem. you could take out 500 a week and quite easily live of it.

Mine too, I just hope everyone remembers to go easy on this so we keep this of value for all lol. I get it, we all been struggling hard till today but that money is there for the grabbing long term if we keep in mind how we roll with it right now. I got a few things I got to cash out but small $30 dollar posts I probably will touch and that one for my dad in a few days, rest I am holding for the sake of Steemit lol

I think for me it's going to be a bit of give and take. I will certainly convert some, save some, and cash out some, but that was my plan before the fork too.
I think that reinvesting some of my Steem into the platform not only helps my investment grow but also gives everyone a chance at a bigger payout!
Your thinking wisely...I am taking a little out here and there, small cash outs because bills need to be paid but I hope we all keep some scarcity about this coin so it goes up not down lol....just figured a public reminder before the drive to the gold rush doesn't go too overboard lol. They are slamming it down on Bittrex and that concerns me a little

I imagine the price reaction can be caused by the lockoff from poloniex. But you make some excellent points, people should really consider powering up at this point.

lol...yea they might not hear me yet but they better be cautious for the whole of the community. I get we all need money but long term investments always end up making us more anyways. I know I am putting most in Steem Power where I can, gotta help some family here but at the same time I get if I don't think about the future than what is the point anyways.
it is interesting to have short term and long term plans. My idea was along those line: stack Steem when it's cheap, sell when high to get a feet in other cryptocurrencies.
My plan is to get that Steem Power high as a saving account and maybe then I will bring in enough weekly payments to call a weekly paycheck so I can add more to the SP and take some out for bills. Its all about getting it up there at this stage, we got a great opportunity to get fast ahead before the crowds get in here

I think you have to see price drops as a great opportunity. It filters out people who are not committed anyway and gives people who believe in the long term chances to invest !
