It started with another, quite controversial, CLOSED OPENING. Still sticking to Spain, it was the Catalan opening. It was interesting in itself – in order for someone to win a match, they have to win a game. In order to win a game, one must risk opening up and attacking. Who will be the first to dare to take the initiative? By any logic, even a perverted one, that must be a challenger, because without a victory there is no title chances. The Champion can sit quietly and roost on his eggs of all 14 games + tie-break. However, in the second game, the Champion took a risk!

After the first five games, commentators have already started speculating about changes to the rules to make these matches more interesting. The most common idea is to change the time control, which goes in the direction of shortening the time and Fisher’s increment after the move. There were also proposals to play Fischer’s Random Chess960 for the title. Your @lighteye has a different proposal – to put one sister Botez on each side of the rivals for the title of Champion with the right to comment on each move.And I dare you to find a more watched program! 😁
