Steemit is indeed the best social media platform in the world because of the ability to reward content creators more than any other social media , its top security , storage capability , uncensorship , great people and importantly, built on steem blockchain technology. However, unlike Facebook and Twitter which are shaping our world debate, steemit still need some time in order to reach mainstream and thus become a household name like facebook -which in return will turn the value of steem to USD 1000+ in few years’ time.
According to Coindesk.com - an early investor in Twitter Naval Ravikant is on the lookout to fund a blockchain alternative to the popular social media platform:
In new remarks to CoinDesk, Naval Ravikant, the co-founder of AngelList, revealed he intends to sponsor a prize that will be awarded to anyone who can develop a version of Twitter with no central authority, and where users are able to monetize their contributions. The capital is being made available as part of an initiative that will provide financial assistance to entrepreneurs seeking to build blockchain applications on the Blockstack platform. Even though steemit has seen huge success , it is however , still on beta. I was wondering if Naval Ravikant was unaware of steemit -which provides a better service than what he requested and thus @ned , @dan et al should win the price. Moreover, this shows that management and steemit members need to do a better job in positively selling this great platform to the word in order to reach more people.
Some few points are:
- Tell your friends and Family members how they can benefit from Steemit: many people will love to get paid doing what they love.
- Deviate from spamming this platform , respecting fellow bloggers and avoiding plagiarism.
- Tell your co-workers or fellow students about steemit
- Post about Steemit on social media: Use Face book, twitter, Linkedin , youtube and twitter to sell steemit to the world.
Many steemians , examples , @jerrybanfield , @dollarvigilante , @suppoman , @sweetsssj and @heiditravels (to mention only few) are doing great work via their videos or blogs in showing the world the ingenuity and advantages of this great platform and thus have signed up many followers to steemit. However we all have to join the effort which in return will be a win win for all.
Conclusion: Steemit is indeed an undervalued precious Gem and has all the potentials to take over social media segment in few years’ time which in return will lead to an upward trend in steem price.Conversely, however, in order to achieve success, we as stakeholders must do our own part in selling steemit positively to the word- which is a win win for all.

I didnt sell rather transfered to blocktrades in order to buy whaleshares to boost my steemit post...thus reinvesting it in steemit and later converted all remaining steem dollars to steem...so do a better DD . I am all in..... in the long run.

Great post ! We definitely need to sell steemit more and reach more people ! I do as often as I can ! I would like to add though that some of the people you mentioned above such as sweetjsss always up vote their own posts at 100% power with their huge wallets giving themselves hundreds of dollars and always keeping their trending and getting even more up votes , which is constantly draining the rewards pool ! Also I found out that ned gave sweetjsss his + voting power worth a ton , trusting her to use it and up vote some great needy authors that have been getting nothing , then she turned around and used it all on herself to up vote all her own posts , making her thousands of dollars , this is why she was flagged awhile back !
anyways just letting you know my friend that alot of these trending people ( whales /Big Dolphins ) are cheating all of us , which is why we make nothing ! They also spend a lot of money on randowhale or booster by sending them 10.00 and up , to up vote their posts even more ! You can see this in gringalicous wallet as well as many others ! Most of us cant afford this !! So again the rich get richer and we get 0 !! LOL! Not at all complaining my friend , just wanted people to be aware of whats really going on here !! LOL! I understand the way you feel my dear friend...however all of us are free to use @booster or @randowhale to boost our post. Most of the upvotes from the bots come with a loss however the purpose is to get a big boost which is great so I do not see anything wrong with @gringalicious strategy...you can copy the system with at least 1SBD boost , @minnowbooster is better

I wonder who dont upvote their posts here (except some official steemit posts and or @dan and @ned ) . Oh for sure up voting is done by many but nit does count as a up vote on your 10 per day if your trying to build up your power its difficult as well if you post 2 to 4 times per day it leaves you less up votes for others ! But some of the big Dolphins And Whales totally abuse the current system I mean their up votes are worth hundreds compared to mine at 8 cents ! not at all !! LOL!! My up votes even at 100% Are only worth Mabel 8 or 10 cents ! And I only do it sparingly after I first up vote everyone else's !! Massively undervalued. The community is growing exponentially, especially in small (non us/European) markets. steem is going to really take a lot of people by surprise over the next year or two. Easily double digit dollar per steem. $10-$30. Development is happening steadily, more apps other than steemit are being opened on the block chain. Sleeping giant.

I agree that the price of Steem will likely go up. Currently I would not say that it is undervalued as the value is exactly based upon the demand.....However when this platform works out its kinks and fine tunes into a stream lined platform I feel it could BOOM. There is no question that it pays better than any other social media, now we just need to get it easy and fun to use for the average person.
I believe that the likely hood of the price of steem going way up is very real!
I am investing all my earnings into SP and also promoting this to everyone everywhere!

Whenever there is money involved there will be scams... sad fact! I think it will be hard to stop this! Also, excessive supply might become a thing.... but what I think is mainly stopping steemit to grow is the fact that the owners/devs are not looking into improving or creating applications for this platform. Last year on the steemit fest 1 they said that they will only develop 5% of applications/features and expect the steemit community to do the rest. Hope they will change their attitude or the platform will remain the same. Have a lovely day my friend!

Charles, I see you are an educated man. I am not. So I would like to throw this out there. It seems bit coin and crypto currencies are becoming very popular and money issued by the central banks of the world are losing confidence, because of all the debt and eventual inflation. To me I think the central banks are setting us up to go digital (cashless) and using crypto currency to replace their money. To me this gives the bankers TOTAL CONTROL of all transactions. Our money is now part of the atmosphere. If a central banker dislikes me for any reason or wants to direct me to do something I don't want to. I am TOTALLY SCREWED. I think without a wealth backed money system we are on the road to TOTAL EVIL.
So be careful what you wish for.
It depends on the way you see it however cryptocurrencies and its blockchain technology will help eliviate many people from poverty better than big banks , governments and central banks.
But no personal freedom or freedom of thought.
It depends on the type of freedom you want...does your government give you freedom to financial investment without poking for tax?
@charles1 people are going to need to be patient with Steemit (STEEM) as it will have it's day in the sunshine. By the mere fact that it was first to market to grow and scale will pay big dividends down the road but now is the time to grow and accumulate more STEEM. I'm waiting for the chance to grab as much as I can should it go back down below .50 cents. My goal is to acquire at least 1 million STEEM.
