Fujifilm is unique among the camera manufacturers. They have made some really good stuff, and they have made some obvious mistakes, while all the other manufacturers only insist and improve on their mistakes!
For example, Fujifilm have made a terrible mistake by ruining X-Pro series with an abominable tilting screen on X-Pro3 model, which we graded as A Major Design Flop! four years ago. What happened since then? Well, X-Pro3 had a dismal sales result, and was discontinued without replacement like no other digital Fujifilm camera ever!

Second mistake was with very popular X-E series. X-E4 was made smaller, but without all the dials, knobs and buttons functionality X-E3 had. They should retain the form factor and handling, improving the internals only. Thank God, they didn’t make the same mistake with their absolute hit — X100 series!
The phenomenal X100V, which was announced in February 2020 with the original price of $1399, due to high demand was not possible to find&buy over the counter, and a second hand units were priced as high as $2000! And this time, Fujifilm did the right thing – they didn’t remove anything of the goodies, and added improvements into a body that is almost identical to X100V. It is just 1mm thicker, which makes a bit better grip, but looking at it, you would be hard pressed to distinguish new model from the old one. Like a classic car with a new motor inside. And what are the differences?

You really need not to change anything on the outside of the camera with excellent handling and optics, and while it is – in its class – better than Leica, with the cost more than half of the cheapest Leica M Summicron 35mm f2 lens!

He also said that in-body IS is not up to declared 6EV, but rather 3EV – which is still better than Leica!
Of course, this is not a perfect camera by the simple fact that lens is not interchangeable. You can add two conversion lenses – Wide Conversion Lens WCL-X100II which gives you 28mm field of view (35mm format equivalent), and Tele Conversion Lens TCL-X100II which gives 50mm field of view (35mm format equivalent). But that would be a band-aid over a serious cut. True solution would be an X-Pro4 with a global shutter sensor and sensible, fully articulated LCD screen. Which we almost certainly won’t see until next Thursday…
While you are waiting for perfection, have in mind that Fujifilm has transferred the production to China, and currently can produce around 500 units a day.. So, you must preorder…

Who could ask for more?
