I had to go into an office job today. It's the first time in 10 years that I've done that. I mean, I've been to my corporate office in the last ten years, but today I got on the train, got off at the right station, got on the subway, and walked from there to work. I officially became a part time commuter. It's possible that as soon as 2 weeks go by I can get back on the road, but until then...
Hard to talk about what's it like. I am a huge believer in education. I think it has the power to lift people up, but the game is rigged right now. So many students go to college, but less than half will graduate within 6-years. They don't tell you that stat when you're on the tour. You're going to spend maybe $150k, and there's a shot you wont' get a degree out of it. Even if you do it's not like the jobs are paying a ton of money. You're lucky if you make $50k out of college in a lot of places, but that doesn't go much past food, rent, loan, car, and utilities. Throw in kids and you're family rich and cash poor. I'm one of the most fortunate people in the world with a PhD and 10 years of experience and I'm barely hanging in middle class.
So, world economics are broken. I love education, but I feel like a small cog in a big evil wheel. I don't want to perpetuate student debt. Those are 30 year shackles for many people. So, I told my wife my latest dream.
The talk
Actually it went pretty well. I got her to sign up for Steemit. So, she knows about this place. She's read a little on bitcoin and getting more comfortable. I think when she realized people have million dollar accounts in this place that it's not a play money thing. When I showed her what posts could make she started maybe seeing how Steemit could play a bigger part in our lives.
So, I used that as a good starting point and I told my wife I hope to be able to quit my job and do this full time. In my dream world I'm doing that starting next year. I love blogging. I love this community. I love the empowerment I feel using crypto. I want this world to change and I think taking power away from immoral banksters is the best thing I can do with my life.
Intention
I have some odd beliefs about the universe. I believe that the mandela effect is real. I've personally experienced it and I have surveys totalling more that 50,000 people to track that experience. Things we take for granted as never changing do change! What animal will lie with the lamb? It's not what you think! What did the disney witch say to the mirror? It's not what you think. Where is your heart in your chest. It's probably not where you believe it to be. The universe changes around us.
I think one of the things that impacts those changes is our intention. Intention is a hard thing for people to grasp at this level, but it's not that much different than your every day experience. You set your intention in the morning to brush your teeth after you get up. You set your intention to finish your project by the due date. I set my intention for how I want my world to look. I have set my intention to be a full time blogger and steemit advocate to young people. I hope it's as early as next year. I might still go to the exact same schools to talk to the exact same kids... But now I'll empower them with a different type of knowledge that I think can free them.
So, universe... there you go. I've set my intention, made it public, and setting my internal radar to attract what I need to attract to make this happen. If you're reading this; I thank you and love you and appreciate your support. Namaste!

My universe changed 5 years ago when we found out my husband is sick. Now I cannot work away from home/farm. His meds are 1000/wk and insurance won't cover. So there are my intentions. I hope that my blog and videos provide value to others so that I may provide for my family. So far, steemit has been a real boost and I love interacting with everyone so far!
You get a follow. Make a great post and I'll make sure 1200 people see it and let my heavyweights know to send it some love. If I could alter that dream at all it'd be an aquaponics farm. I'm glad that you're considering a bright future here on Steemit :) It's actually quite funny how I'm trying to figure out, which will make decent money first? My social media accounts (normal ones such as YouTube with my 15K and my YouNow with 1K) or Steemit. So far, on some days I make more money through here with 250 followers than even if I had like 30K on YouTube. I'm really glad that YouTube's Ad boycott inspired me to push past my comfortable limits. We're here now and that's all that matters. I see a bright future for us all as long as everything keeps growing :)

Hey mate, more marketing is always fine by me :) It's how the Steemit community grows. What exactly do you mean by abundance? Do you live by the laws of abundance (as in there's plenty of love to be found for everyone, money, work, etc. as long as one looks for it and persists through all the shit)?
I try. But I think a lot of this economy and system has been designed to feel lke we're always in a lack for things. The way money works is that at the exact moment it's printed it's issued as debt. That means a year from now you owe more money than was printed. Where do you get that? other people, but eventually it catches up with you that there is never enough money in the system to pay the debt. That's a major part of the scam.
Heck, when Steem hits $100 you can retire early. I feel like that is very real possible in the next year or two.
Yeah, I'll stick this in the comment section for now. I'm still waiting on another BTC to invest in steemit and golos. But after that comes through I'll post that I think we'll hit $5 by December. HF19 is a winner.
Keep up the fight. I will do what I can to support your effort. I see how hard you work at this. Your efforts really show. I just joined and haven't even started on Steem (medical issues) but I am already getting a sense of the family here and I bet I am not the only one out there that will help to lift you up. Man, thats was great, honestly. I am happy for you that you were able get back on that corp ladder/slave trade deal, at least you have an income ... I can tell you first hand when you make the decision to leave that life to start your own biz, life becomes so much better. But when that crashes it is hard as hell to get back on that corp ladder or any ladder anymore ... At 56, I can tell you, anyone can fall through the cracks.

This really hit home for me. I've been in career for 20+ yrs and made <$50k last year. I don't enjoy it anymore. Not really anyway. There's so much more to life, and I find happiness in family, church and friends but it's about time to move on. Thank you thank you thank you thank you, so much for this post man... I really really appreciate it.... The honesty gives me chills.... I thought it was only me but I am happy that other people are seeing it.... the system is broken, something is definitely wrong....I can share my experience...currently I am a medical student and hopeless....I did all that's required of me....graduate with honors from high school, get my first degree BSc, numerous certificates and volunteered on numerous projects... I have a GPA above 3.5 and still I am struggling to pay for school... I am in debt and can't even get a loan, I feel worthless even though I graduated top of my class, most of my peers have kids and family and I am struggling to find money to pay for school....Something isn't right and I feel like I have been lied to.... I don't even know what the future holds for me, tuition has doubled on me and they keep raising and adding fees that the scholarship is practically worthless....I feel responsible for the death of my dad, as he has taken this burden so much on his shoulders, I get sick everytime I think about it....I went as far as setting with the Dean of the School and this was his response, "Mr Mitchell, you are one of my best students and I wish you the best but until I start seeing some money on your account we cannot allow you to move forward, I would have to ask the security to remove you from campus. I am sorry but this is how it works."....its sad because you expect doctors/ school administrators to be competent and compassionate but this system is producing questionable apples....I look at some of my peers I consider excellent student and I see their struggles, I look at student who I know for a fact does not know anything blowing away exams.....something needs to give....please get on a microphone and speak about it....they won't listen to me but probably they would listen to you.....everything isn't as it appears to be....I love Bitcoin, and I wish I had put tuition money into it, I be so much better off. I have been following the altcoins and gathering and storing them in my wallets...I love steemit and I am here for longterm...this is TRUE VALUE

Congratulations on coming out of the steem closet and setting your intentions. If you keep a positive attitude I am sure that you will continue to get closer and closer to your goal at faster speeds.
I'm not sure which theories this idea overlaps with but have you ever thought of infinite realities, where each possible reality already exists and each reality is nothing but stationary "snapshot". Time doesn't move, our consciousness is just experiencing those snapshots in a certain order to create the illusion of past, present and future.
This would explain everything from dreams (experience reality in a non-linear fashion) to the mandela effect (skipping over to a slightly different set of snapshots).
So your intentions and your emotions, actions, beliefs, they are deciding which set of snapshots you end up experiencing.
Not sure if you are into this but I thought I'd share it with you.
Yeah. Def a possability. I tend to think it's not quite that because I think we're seeing a merging of timelines. That version doesn't explain to me how there are groups of memories that conflict. That's why I think it's like 2+ servers merging.
I recently had a discussion with my wife also about joining steemit, though it is too soon to say how much it will become a part of our lives. As an occupation, I think it would benefit her even more than me, since she can't do the office job. Her main concern is putting herself out there and facing rejection. So far, I have found this to be one of the most supportive places on the web. It is better place to share ideas than Facebook - and those people are supposed to be friends! I am really happy to see your success here @aggroed and I wish you and your fam the best on this journey!

You get it for writing good stories adn not being a dick. It's amazing what kind of community that helps build because all the typically internet asshole shit get shut down... I should do a post on that. Lemme know when she needs an account. I'm happy to make it for her quickly.
Oh yes I forgot about the rep bit. A lot of features fit together to make this kind of self policing community. I guess that is inspired by the nature of blockchain itself... A means of creating an complex organization without central authority. This is the first place I've seen it extended beyond currency and into actually encouraging people to behave and contribute usefully. Sure the idea of rep points has been around, but here the motivation is so much more powerful, and grows exponentially as we draw more people into the group. It is a powerful new technology in the world of distributed computer systems. If functioning currencies can be made without a central bank, could entire societies be made without central governments? You should write something on that!

Interesting post!I retired on disability in 2014, I blew out my lower back. Too much heavy lifting for my slender frame. It falls under the heading of "be careful what you wish for". Apparently I wasn't clear enough about the particulars when I set my intention to find a way not to have to do physical labor to earn my meager living...
As for the mandala effect, I'm not sure if the reality actually changes, or if we humans simply remember stuff wrong. On the one hand, I've experienced at least 2 glitches in the matrix, but on the other hand, I find that memory can be a tricky thing. I'm willing to keep an open mind on it, either way.
As for steemit, I figured I'd give it an honest try. I mean, what do I have to lose, beside the time that I would have normally spent on facebook...
I think I gave you a vote for witness, I didn't see your name in the top 50 so I wrote it in. First time I've voted for a witness, this is all still pretty new to me.
I'm honored and thank you for your vote. I'm convinced it's a real effect, and I'm positive people are experiencing a different subset of effects. It's a weird world we're in.
Not only is it weirder than we know, but it is weirder than we are able to know. I believe it is simply beyond the capacity if the human mind to be able to comprehend just how weird it actually is.

Glad to hear it went over well with the wife thus far! And yeah, student debt is crazy. My neighbor is pinging me for advice on buying a home and she can't get the financials to work because her student loans are like a mortgage payment already!
yeah. I have buddies that went through grad school that pay more for their loans than their house. It's no bueno. Worse yet, it's student loans that made that possible. Govt issued easy money.. What did the schools do? raise prices. The consumer is now paying more for basically the same thing with a nicer sports complex. Not a good deal.
Awaraness is one of the key points in cryptocurrencies. Knowing it is there and what will change the comming years as people will all start accepting the new way of payment and the new currencies. Good luck with following your dream, i will be right there with you!

This article really sunk into me, since I have decided not to proceed with college after putting in a lot of work, I wasn't satisfied. I agree with you 100%.. a lot of people go into college and finish it with thousands in debt. I decided I didn't want to be in that situation and convinced myself to just do what I am passionate about instead. So far I think its the best decision. Congrats on the followers! Dilemma gets me. Apparently it's always been spelt with two 'M's, but I know when I was a kid, it was 'Dilemna'.
Imagine writing 'column' one day, and having it correct to 'columm'.

I refuse to spell definately any other way. I remember going over that word a thousand times. I picked up math better than just about everyone else at my school, but I struggled with reading. I know I sounded out the "ate" to learn it over and over.

I suspect there are an awful lot of us here that believe we influence our own destinies. It takes believers to jump into the untried and still-to-be-tested. I only wish that I knew about steem earlier. I still consider anyone joining now to be early adopters, but how much longer that will last is anyone's guess.

this is a great post thank you for sharing! we believe a lot of similar/same weird shit apparently.... i think youre pretty sane for the weird shit u believe, and it defs sucks how rigged the entire system is and yeah fuck the banksters. i dont entirely understand the whole witness thing yet but congratulations on followers and witness votes! good on u dude, again thanks for the share
At a minimum a witness is a guy running a server that helps build the blockchain, which is all the information getting stored around here. I tend to also think of it like a true elected position. Like a steemit senator. Gotta help people and help the platform.
maybe try not to think of it as what senators are so much as what senators are supposed to be, senator...... ;)

how do you get votes, simply by participating in the community as you already are- and then stating your intention to be a witness. then just community members hook u votes or can only witnesses give u votes? can i vote for you? thanks for responding bru
