Global harmony is our mission. World peace is our vision. Our community's open mic event attracts 100+ musicians and thousands of listeners each week. We provide a haven for creative expression and genuine connection. All are welcome. Every contributor can be proud of the fact we are building a live music movement, sharing songs with an international audience.
Each week, our community recognizes a Spotlight Artist. This is a person who shares artistry and personality, offering musical performance and generous listening to fellow musicians. Our virtual song circle upholds the pattern of a traditional open mic event, respecting those who listen twice and talk once.
For the 78th week of Hive Open Mic, we will explore the following theme: "Amante." In English, this means: "Lover." This theme is selected by Spotlight Artist: @franciscodesousa, who is a brilliant guitarist and song carrier from our beloved nation of Venezuela. Everyone is encouraged to share the collective current as we express and connect through: Amante.
“Amante”
This week's Hive Open Mic theme is: “Amante.” This is a pressure-free invitation, encouraging us to explore new territory together as artists and share a common ground as a community. Musicians always have full freedom to bring whatever music feels inspired in the moment. Here's a timeline, for anyone wishing to look back, be present, or prepare future entries.
How To Play
1. Produce - Introduce your video by saying the words, “Hive Open Mic Week [1],” including your name. Perform a song.
2. Present - Post your video in the Hive Open Mic community. Include the tag #openmic.
3. Promote - Share your link in the comments section of Sunday's open mic invitation in order to ensure your entry is heard.
4. Prosper - Build relationships by engaging with fellow music lovers through uplifting comments.

Show your support by engaging with the musicians. The greatest gift you can give to an artist is your attention. For this reason, we humbly ask that you offer some friendly words. You can reward musicians by offering applause as if we're in a pub, a coffee shop, or concert hall. Your friendly comment might be a vital voice that gives a musician the wings to fly, or the gills to dive deep!

Glad you're playing this song. I remember when you introduced it to me a long time ago. Would you say you can see noticeable progress in your videos, from one take to another?
I tried singing it with the capo on the 6th fret this time , normally I would play it capoed on the 5th.Lately I've been trying to sing all my songs in a higher key than I was previously able to.
Im not sure if that's progress really ,I just enjoy singing the song.
I definitely think it's progress to explore new territory and stretch ourselves musically. I am totally with you in this. In fact, I just attended a live music event tonight and I got invited on stage to play a song. I sang this new song an octave higher than I'd ever voiced it before, and wow, it took on a whole new energy and vibrancy. I feel the same is true for you.

Um, you might be right about that. I'm new at the Spanish language. Personally, in my interpretation, it translates to "Lover," which could also mean a romantic relationship with a spouse, or yes, perhaps, a frisky fling with a total stranger. :)
