A Power-up Series For The Philippine Community & Every Newbie And Answers Every Steemit-Related Question!
Brief History
Before steemit, i was surpassing Google.
Tackling the aspect of "surpassing Google"; that has to do with surpassing the search engine "Google", here is some things i like to say in my mind's eye:
Type the word "money" into the Google search engine and it should at least give you the address to the nearest ATM.
Human intelligence beats artificial intelligence! Google wake up, else i take over.
In general, "i wanted to poke the globe from its outskirts, with beautiful awesome vibes and rain it with more "tears of joy" and one of the gifts involved in accomplishing this, was an innovation from me!
One such innovation, is a special type of social network, one that infuses the world with love, brotherhood and forgiveness; one that brings about equality and turns boring internet into a haven; a home!
I drew up the entire model for it and stayed in research-mode to rehearse it into fruition, then i found steemit & steem technology and i instantly understood it.
"Visions within a dream"; i understood those word from Ned Scott from day one on steemit, without reading the whitepapers. I instantly grasped the underlying beautiful concepts, forming the base of steemit's creation and i saw why it couldn't crumbled. I saw why it fixes!
I didn't stop surpassing Google! "I continued surpassing Google with steemit.com
Why Won't Steemit Crumble?
"Mining with minds" in a never-ending loop, guarded by a reputation model that checks behavior is genius every time and a gift to humanity".
If you decide to take a pause, turn your mind's ignition off, even for a short period and think that steemit will falter; "sleep tight; someone out here on steemit, is mining".
When I look at it from every angle, the first law of steemit states that:
"If you bunch up creators; innovators; great minds and especially "humans", out of their own hearty volition, to mine steem with their minds reputably, while making them stakeholders, co-owners etc, of steem technology; then this equal to or greater than; 'a never-ending mini-dream'. @surpassinggoogle
So how about, we look at steemit and steem technology as ours!
So how about, we look at steemit and steem technology as ours! Investors here, most definitely; convincingly see steem technology as if it is theirs. Whales, dolphins etc; definitely see steem technology as theirs!
How about steemians like me, with say 1,000 steem power and below?
How about if we started to treat steemit, like the co-owners that we actually are, as well!
My point is, if you own a house and you get tenants into it and they misuse the furniture and puncture the walls etc; do we hastily react and pull down the house? Do you leave the house out of tiredness and abandon ownership of it; to the tenants? Most likely, no! We will passionately put in effort to renovate it; to fix it and if it is only one room in the entire building that we own, we will renovate and fix that room!
So if you have only 5 steem power; you are co-owner of steem technology.
Now, "steemit is beautiful!" If my dear little portion of steemit, is starting to grow scars, do i quit?
"I will try donate my portion to fix the entire steemit or fix my tiny portion of steemit!"
My conviction is strong! Is yours strong yet? Let's try to fix that, within this post!
Steemit isn't build to fail!
But if it does fail; in my case, there can't have been a loss! The culture of "mining with minds" as instill in us incessantly by "steemit", will continue endlessly! Only the token changes!
For an investor here on steemit, it may not be that easy! But the "solution" for steemit not to fail, is easy;
"We must make sure it doesn't fail and we can!"
Due To Steemit; "Everyone is a GIVER!"
Steemit and steem technology means alot to different people and for some steemians; amongst many other things; steemit is a means to GIVE. "A means to inspire, influence, touch someone out there; by means of a simple upvote or by means of a timely comment".
Once possible, I would buy steem, power it up, just to give it out in upvotes.
If giving has become as easy as an upvote; "Then for the first time ever, WE have all given".
"If we have all given; then we have not lost!"
Be on steemit and there can never be loss!
"Come For The Rewards, Stay for the community!"
I wont lie, this is a big statement! On today's internet, a "true community of great minds" is LUXURY. It doesn't exist anywhere!
Facebook can suspend your account, if you live in Philippines and you even as much as send a friend request to someone in USA.
Steemit is ours and if it fading, we will fix it, enhance it, etc; BUT just if we are a bit tired; if we maintain community at the very least; some steemian out there, will fix it or create something to fix it!
We must the steemit community, deep, strong and filled with love; a haven; a home!
Steemit Has Lots Of Drama?
There may have been talks of drama on steemit, the downvotes, disagreements, people leaving etc!
Then "sift the bad, to find good in it" and you will notice, that the really beautiful drama on steemit, to constantly see; is in the truly loving, homely, heartfelt, enthusiastic sweetness; that it spills endlessly, in its every nook and cranny!
A core facet of steemit growth is the conviction of its base community and today we will try to tackle this, within this post and strengthen our community while answering every newbie's steemit-related questions and create one gem of a post that we can share all over the internet, to help us in accomplishing steemit growth on the outside.
Steemit growth starts from the inside; YOU & ME!
The truth is: if your conviction about steemit and its community is at an all-time high, you will be drastically more effective at bringing friends, family and new ones to steemit. I tell you, your vibe will be just plain different.
If you fully understand steemit, as also a means to empower humans and create best versions of society; presenting steemit to everyone you meet becomes a notch easier!

Find people in your niche, read their posts and leave valuable comments there. There are lots of advantages of being on steemit. Let me paraphrase what @surpassinggoogle stated. You had a vision and a life before steemit, bring your vision and life unto the steemit blockchain and sell it to as many who believe in your vision. They'll help you run with it . A little caveat, though would be for you to first work on building a good reputation here. That takes a while. So, don't hurry. As a advocate in the Philippines getting Steem running like mad through that community, what is your larger vision? Are there other countries you personally would like to get to and make a difference?
I know your health may prohibit heavy travel, but I'm sure there are many many places that need a dose of @surpassinggoogle.

I've noticed that people are trying to use "bribes" to get users like yourself to check out (and upvote) their posts. Sending small SBD transfers with a note along with it to the user in hopes they will get a return of as much or more when that person looks at the post. I see similar transactions in your wallet although I do not have the time at the moment to see if you are reacting to those or not. I just wanted to know your general thought on this kind of promotion. Does it really work to draw people to look at your content? Or is it better to stick to the relationship building side by conversing in comments?

Thank you for making this clarification @stellabelle. I don't know if it is common practice, as I don't really look at a lot of wallets. But I did see it mentioned in a post somewhere and started looking a little closer.
I'm all for relationship building. Getting to know people and building solid community is more important than the reward system. I'm a strong advocate of conversations in comments, and attempting to build relationships there.
But I dont comment on every post people I want to get to know make. Only the ones that I feel I can add something to the conversation in. Coming up with something to comment all the time is too disingenuous. So it may take me longer to build the relationships, but eventually people remember my name, and maybe get curious enough to come check out my content.

Hi everyone, im new here, please excuse my post if i may do wrong. I was invited by @surpassinggoogle to visit his profile if i needed some question. To be honest with you, i will not belive this if i haven't seen this. i was shocked what i have read here in this article, i never knew somebody in my own country to be so determined and passionate in looking forward in the future of steemit. I also felt that steemit has future, it will surpass everything i think because everything is for the user. A friend of mine introduced me to steemit, i was not so good in english but the eagerness to somehow post a blog and communicate is helping me to practice my gramar and its very helpful. At first i was so eager to start but after a while, with less votes and less seen on my posts, i was a little bit frustrated. As a newbee, i havent seen the long run yet, that's why if I look at the long run, and there maybe more bigger frustrations, how can i survive? I was so lucky i had a friend @kennyroy who is so helpful answering every questions i ask, he helped me move forward. The simple truth is, give it time, read my posts deeply and look for the underlying life lessons in it. Steemit is more about life and humans and understanding it and you are already successful just by being here. These are the best times on steemit. The past on steemit will help you realized this. In the past the price of steem was a low as 7 or 15 cents. It was too hard to earn but that base of steemians still remained to hold steemit up strong. You will learn so much from those two posts. I also pulled up old posts of mind in the first post, so you can see the earning but does it matter if you don't earn on steemit?
The easy answer is no becos learning is earning, personal growth is earning, practicing grammar is earning, good behavior is earning, friends from around the world, is earning, opportunities is earning. It wont be obvious now but it will be in the near future and ofcourse, you need mirrors, someone to tell you of your progress and with this amazing comment, reading a grasping my post and asking a thought-provoking question with "God (Jehovah) bless at the end, i can tell you for sure, that you have earned. I won't need to check you wallet to be sure of that. You are not the same person that you were before steemit because you have evolved. So about posts, being hit or miss, does it matter? Well, here is how i put it: hit or miss; as long as you evolve, it will always be a hit. As you evolve, quality sets in, even in your post, in physical real life, you decision-making is better, your foresight is better. You may never have know of crypto before steemit, now you do. For the steem, keep gathering it, there is no loss there. It may just be 10 dollars tomorrow. Presence of steemit is essential because opportunity can arise any where, any day or time and it can be a gem in the next post you read. You have the world on steemit too, so expand your horizon. Speak to be, share a piece of you, inspire.
If you have kids, the blockchain is permanent, write down legacies to leave it for them, to impact them in the future. They will shed tears of joy when they read it. These things are priceless!

Thanks for the inspiring advice making me realize, yes we have lots of things to gain here to be frustrated and to stop, practically everybody wants to earn, honestly, was convinced because i will earn money doing what i like to do, anyway in facebook we are not earning anything but we keep on posting, here there is possibility to earn and learn, actually i wasn't that interested in conversation especially in english which is not our native language, but steemit made it for me. I am learning to socialize, to be good to others and to learn to appreciate, learn to give, gather friends, so much to earn which i never have imagined. my campaign of steemit has always been facial and i am really faced with some hardcore questions which i tried to answer few in my series why steemit?
What we need to do is to understand that steemit is a community and a community can unite as one to face the forces outside. As the statement goes that a tree cannot make a forest, it applies here too. many people get discouraged after staying in steemit for maybe a month or two and with all they have tried they hardly get a 1cent payout weekly. first, we need to see what we can do it this regards. how will newbies be motivated to stay?
Big ups to the great guys who are making steemit enjoyable for us; i must confess that i am privileged. We must translate steemit beyond the online platfom and let as many as we are inviting to steemit see the evidence of what we are saying, first from us. remember, steemit is not a pyramid-multilevel payment plan where rewards flow downwards, so the next question is this. if a steemain wrote a nice post that doesnt get seen and encouraged, what gets him motivated then?
i introduces someone to steemit almost immediately i entered in June and about a month after, she told me that she was opting out. she said that the circle-system will not allow the community grow and that she was better not wasting her time writing articles that wont get the rewards i told her that steemit can bring. how do you bridge the gap in the mindset of someone who wants reward to feel motivated and not feel-motivated to want reward?

Can you do a breakdown of curation rewards. How do they work and when is it best to upvote?
Hahaha, great question. Yes, there are rules to maximise getting curation rewards, but for me as a curator, i don't let timing deter me. i vote based on many factors and many times sift even the not-so-good for the good in it. Basically, curation is a talent too. Some people are good at it, some people study it, so it is subjective depending on the needs of the curator. timing parameters were put in place to many bot votes which are more perfectly timed than humans. for. Some people also target upvoting valuable comments too. Alot too has to do with amount of steempower and percentages. The best person to explain the timing aspect of it will be @timcliff

First of thank you for the post and more importantly the positive vibes you put into it.
My question : how long can it take to get a decent amount of upvotes or get noticed atleast for posting decent content once every other day? I tried doing my introduce yourself post and got less than 15 upvotes and managed only 3.5$ before getting an upgoat. Most of introduceyourself Steemians earn some decent amount from 20$ onwards but I definitely didn't.... What's the reason for that and yes it is my first introduce yourself. I am sure, you must understand a lot by now. Your post was top notch. but there are many other factors too. Don't worry about others. You will have good days. I left you sample posts from the past, you will see how they did earning-wise. These are the best times on steemit. Stay strong and keep going.
Learn and use feedback. If you keep posting like your last post, you will do well in no time. You can also build a niche if you want, so that your path is defined but ofcourse, you can experiment and evolve till you find that special niche.

I was always wondering what am I doing wrong but as you said things change. Do you mean on "steemit.chat"? Well, investing in steempower is always a plus cos like i said there is always a "human factor", so sometims, thing revolve around high steempower. With high steem power, there is a lot you can do, even without posting. Curation gives higher rewards, even when you never posts. Some whales only curate and never post. Plus, many people may copy your votes, using voting parameters on steemvoter, making you vote more powerful

Actually I under stand that to receive curation rewards it depends on timing as well as steam power so even if you are the tenth up vote at say 15 min but you are new and with little steem power even with a resteem your chance of gaining rewards towards steem power is 0 if say 100 people up vote it is that correct so it seems that for a minnow to up vote is kinda time wasted when they should be more focused on content creation and negate curation? until a later time. What is your view?
For new steemians, i will recommend, interaction and building real connections, so comments and posts and activity in the chat rooms like discord and steemit.chat. The link that will help you with content is above in the post. be innovative, technical, maybe stunty. Bring your existing visions on the blockchain and play them. Overtime, you will stand out or build a niche community and you all work together. build on steem power and you can combine it to grow, when you become a force to reckon with partnerhsips and opportunities will come in. If you have an expertise, offer it as a service thorugh a #steemgig or #steemgigs. On steemit, apart from outright sbds, as people get to know you, there can be opportunities, knocks of your door to opportunities but people need to get to know you first. So display you and shine and draw people in

Yes, since you may not have a slider yet to choose vote percentage, like @droucil said 10 full upvotes, over a period of 24 hours, is good enough. Not like there are limitations but you voting power gets depleted as you use it. You can find you voting power meter on the right side of steemd.com/@maad666
However, over time, when you have some steempower, around 500 steem power i think you will have the slider option, so now is the time to power up. You can ask people but then it depends on the person. In community, there are different people. Steemit overall is a loving community, so with good interaction and building connections and friendships you can politely ask for votes. In my case, i don't frown at it, if you asked me

If it easier for you to write in your language for a start, write in your language. If you are to write English, learn over time. Yes. You can vote for witnesses or proxy. So just one. Voting for a proxy means, you will leaving voting for a proxy but in your case, since you want to be voting on your own you can vote for witnesses. You have a total of 30 witnesses you can vote on. The second question is if my power steam is very low, can I upvote posts and comments with high balance, what is advantgaes and disadvanages of doing that?.. Also how can I increase my power steam again before the next 24 hours passing? Are comments may increase it?
Yes comments can increase your steem power. Comments build interaction and connections also apart from rewards. Low on steem power? You can invest in steempower by purchasing some. It is a good investment. Low on steem power? You can look for great posts that you feel have the potential to go trending etc and vote on it earlier than others but voting on comment could work in this case, as not many people vote on the same comment, helping you get a large proportion of the curation rewards. Overall, there is more to steemit, than financial rewards. You can also do well by doing a steemgig. Visit my first comment above. Visit #steemgigs or #steemgig. People pay you for helping them accomplish tasks

Basically is, you get some steem tokens for your post and if you powered up 100 percent, then you get all steem tokens at payout. Regardless, the price of steem fluctuates, if you check coinmarketcap steem price, so if the price of steem goes down, it affects your earnings. but not to worry, steem price rises

Well perhaps. It depends, if the person you are imitating is a good curator, then yes. Also if you are good curator and set parameters yourself, then it could work in terms of efficiency and speed. A human can get tired.

Well, in reality, the most effective way is your growing your own journey, steemit, personal growth etc and it will be more testimonial when you talk. Another way is to involve more older steemians in the conversation. In PH people need inspiration, motivation, so sometimes, a thirdparty fellow wil do wonders. Moreover, what you do is sufficient. Awareneness also counts. I didn't join steemit the first time i saw steemit but the word "steemit" did stick the first time. So don't be under pressure. Everyone does a part in growing steemit. Even your blogs rank in google and may have brought someone in organically by means of the search engines. I eventually joined steemit organically while using google. So its all good!

Yes, my witness name is "steemgigs" not surpassinggoogle. I think you can vote "steemgigs" directly. Basically, a witness host servers upon which steem runs and many other responsibilities to make steemit run and grow

You speak tagalog? haha.. that's cool! and yes, I mean what I said earlier... if I'm to ask the question it would be this.. which is better: Power 100% or 50/50 but purchase steem then power up? I have tried both but when I powered up 100%, only a small amount of SP is received.. for that post, I'm supposed to have around 6 SP since it's power up (total $ was 8.sth~), but what I got was only around 4sp.. so yeah.. I think 50/50 is better.. what do you recommend? ^^
Well, 50/50 can be better but i just leave mine powered up. Cos i don't have time to look at the market. So you can go 50/50 cos you can make gains on trades. Only yesterday or so steem dropped drastically and sbd didn't go down that much, so you get more steem. When i started i was doing 50/50 and playing with steem but then steem was around 7 cents or 15 cents and in fluctuation. SBD used to be pegged to one dollar. Sometimes do, powered up posts do better in terms of voters. some voters love voting of powered up posts better. Overall, powerup yourself
got it... and yeah, I was able to buy some steem on a nice deal I guess 2 days ago.. :) I powered up and put some on my savings.. haha.. but of course, I'd love to grow more in this community... :) Will have to do how trading and steem/sbd value goes too... all in all, my goal is to grow to help others more and earn to help my family.. lol.. xD thanks sir Terry! :D

It is reaching out to people in the search engines. For steemit build connections and friendships using interaction either by means of the comments on eventually on steemit.chat or discord. "Be whale yourself cos you are whale to me!"
Plus give it time! Build your rep. Build yourself. Become the best version of yourself and it will draw people in. Read the very first comment on the comment thread

@surpassinggoogle i am planning to conduct a workshop seminars and invite some of my friends and student so we can build up and talk about making a good community of steemit in our city, what are things i need to consider? is it good to start by just simply sharing them and teaching them how to start?
For now, it is much easier since you have people and a whole community that can help. Even if not physically present it is possible to appear on video these days. Overall, get them to join steemit, then help them out with their intro posts with a steemit verification picture. Give them freedom to post in filipino for a start, then it gets easier. The beginning is crucial especially for PH users.
Then grow in your own journey. Normally, you promote steemit by having you blogs rank in the search engines. Even the tiny interactive comments you leave play a role. But all the same, you can bring them and all grow together.
You can also comment, their first posts to me! If it requires physical presence, we can look for a more versed steemian presence to be there
