Sunflowers at Burnside Farm: Market Friday

After much delay with rain and cloud cover, the sunflowers have made their debut, adorning the fields with their own brand of glorious sunshine. Look closely at the sunflower, it is actually a flowerhead, made up of many, many flowers. Raise your hand if you knew that fun fact!

Some of you may remember that this same farm, Burnside Farms was where I brought you to see their tulips in bloom. There isn't much that makes me miss going then or at this time of year! Turn around slowly. You are surrounded by sunflowers.

Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see the different markets and cultures of our friends here on Hive.

I bought a season pass, also known as a passport, which gave me admission to the Festival of Flowers for the season. For the tulips, the season was about three weeks, depending on the weather. The price for the passport is $75.00 which is a lot of money, but, I could go every day and whenever they are open, also: you get five free stems each time you go. As an added bonus, the sunflowers season is about a month and if you have a passport, it is free, also with three stems every day. Deal!

#15 IMG_5742.JPG

I think that they had a lot of snippers disappear with the tulips. This season, you need them to cut the tough stems. They bought all new ones, but, you must leave your keys or an ID behind. They hold it hostage until you bring their snippers back. I bring my own. Otherwise, I risk having to wait for someone to turn them in.

How nice! A people carrier~ You can walk! The first blooming is about 5 acres out of the almost 100 that are blooming. That is good, on the one hand. That means we will get a long season this year. That is good news. The tulips shut down ten days early in April. The weather turned so hot, the tulips were dying. Almost overnight, we got a sustained temperature of 90 F (32C) for days and days.

Hop right in! I will ride up to see which field I need to be in and walk back, this way I can check the progress of the other fields when I go back. I will probably come back tomorrow and one of the weekend evenings so we can watch the fireworks. They are always fun! Food trucks and fireworks, then they decided to have the local Winery attend. Virginia is big on their vineyards. Oh, yes. It is #MarketFriday, I may need to buy some!

Tips for your trip to Burnside

Bring water and stay hydrated
Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
Wear a hat or bring an umbrella for shade in the field OR we’re happy to loan you one of our “Sunbrellas”.
Wear comfortable “farm-worthy” shoes.
Prepare for walking. The fields cover many acres.
Wear sunscreen and bring bug spray (just in case).
Pack a picnic. They can provide a picnic basket if you don't have one. There are picnic tables for your convenience, there are food trucks, different ones every day. See their FB page and site to see the field conditions and menus for the day. All information about the tips was taken off their site.

image.png

They will introduce SUNSET FESTIVALS this weekend! It will be kicked off at 4 pm - dusk on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunflowers, live music, food trucks, and a fireworks show finish the day. If you cannot make it, I will take pictures for you to enjoy.

#5 IMG_5589.JPG

As per normal, once you have entered the fields, you may stay as long as they are open. It is always a fun time to make a day of it. This was a good show for the first time out. They will continue to open up every day, adding more to their collection. It will be an extravagant show by the time they are all open. All 5 acres open like this and 95 more to open!

#2 IMG_5657.JPG

The sun rises in the east and the sunflowers face the direction of the rising sun. As the sun moves in the sky, the sunflower moves along with it. So when you got work in the morning the sunflower greets you and when you come home, he is waving as you pass. When the sunflower seeds mature and get heavy, the flower no longer moves, but, stays facing east until they are harvested by the birds or humans.

#13 IMG_5714.JPG

Everyone who purchases a ticket for entry gets 3 sunflowers that are included in their ticket price. We also plant beautiful sunflower mazes! They have sunflower mazes, I think there will be three and they have staggered their planting, so each will bloom for about ten days. One maze in bloom each week! That will keep the kids happy!

image.png

I spent a couple of hours out there, walking through the little rows, trying to get in the middle of the sunflowers to take pictures. Everyone that was in the field at this time was ecstatic with the display of flowers. I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to coming back a few more times to enjoy the flowers. How can I resist?

image.png

I cannot imagine what it will look like in a couple of weeks. Overwhelmingly beautiful, if I had to guess. Have you ever been to a sunflower field or farm? I have been to many farms/fields that grow sunflowers around their gardens, but, this is the first sunflower farm I have paid to look at.

BURNSIDE FARMS - 11008 KETTLE RUN RD. NOKESVILLE, VIRGINIA 20181

Over 100 acres of sunflowers!
Come on by and pick your own!

#14 IMG_5740.JPG

We could wait for the tractor and farm hauler to come back, but, why? The sky is clear, no rain in sight and the walk is only ten minutes or so. A nice evening for a walk. The fields were planted in a staggering fashion. Every week, another whole field will be blooming. There are 100 acres and there are less than 5 acres bloomed. So we have quite a bit of time left to enjoy them.

They grow in the fields, in a garden, or sometimes pop up out of nowhere. Flowers, always. To color my world. #alwaysaflower. Sunflowers are always a showstopper and a welcome sight.

Next Burnside Farm Event? The Haymarket farm will sell Christmas trees, starting the day after Thanksgiving. See you there!
Address: 4905 James Madison Hwy., Haymarket, VA 20169

Sort:

$75 bucks seems to be a steal especially if they are all as happy and smiling as Cheyenne! I suppose that is the result of being around so much beauty all day long 🙂. Lucky ducks!

They always seem to be happy, and they make going there fun. Cheyenne is part of the family, such a nice family and everyone does their bit. I like the way they work together without worrying who is working harder or longer or.... or...

I think you are probably right. It would be hard to be around all that beauty and not be happy about it.

Lucky, indeed!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words.

#MarketFriday loves you!

We are syncing up some. Sunflowers. I was going to add this little tidbit to my MarketFriday post but ran out of room. I always learn something new at Beaty.

IMG_3871.jpeg

Sunflower trees ... who knew? I keep threatening to grow a 3 sisters garden with sunflowers too. Imagine that:)

Burnside Farms sounds like an amazing place. Sunflowers; mazes; and firewords. I can't wait to see what they do in the autumn.

https://peakd.com/@dswigle/re-prydefoltz-ry9m4p

Sunflower trees!!! Oh, do it!!! A three-sisters garden sounds amazing! :)

Autumn is a little slower. More mazes, with corn husks and pumpkins, of course. Apples harvest and cider. I will have to look-see what else is going on!

Thank you for dropping your link!

I got a lovely bottle of dry cider and hops from the farmers market last Saturday. Yum.

Don't drink and drive with that. :) I like the dry cider. Not every place carries it, but, it is my first choice. I cannot/will not drink the other.

I take it, you have given it a proper taste? :)

Oh I don't drive ... lol. City dweller. And yes ... don't give me a sugary mess. I'd rather just take a pass too:)

Haha! I drove as a city dweller. Had to make it out to the country some days to see my parents.

Did sell the car in NYC but, kept it in Washington DC

Sugar = less is best. None is perfection.

Feeling of freedom among friendly faces, what a lovely outing. Flowers within flowers, like spinning wheels in the sunlight.

Have a cheerful bright new week !LUV

Sunflower offers so much 'good fortune and positive opportunity'. Macro photography looking into this amazing plant which offers radial and bilateral symmetry.

No wonder this bloom creates so much joy when one can walk through fields dazzled by their extreme beauty expressed by artists.

Greetings from @bluemoon! Thanks for reminding me...
First Time In My Hive Life

Thank you so much, Dan! @bluemoon I know I already got you, but so much easier to keep track of all the different front ends that don't always show up in my searches!

I just came across another post from Balchik, here The thing that struck me is that he seems just as smitten with it as you are. It was nice to see that. :)

#MarketFriday loves you!

With pleasure, @dswigle! I know how hard it is to find the many posts in this community that appear at such different times and even days apart from the established Friday.

It's generally hard to find certain posts, of people you are interested in, when there are so many of them in your case. I am at an advantage here, I don't search for posts according to where they are posted, I search by author, I am at an advantage because my list is short, with a little over twenty...
And so I miss many times and that's why I decided to put on automatic vote all those I like, at least the vote I don't miss. And to save time.

Yes, lightcaptured is a true photographer and his black and white is perfect, in fact, he loves B&W the most. Gorgeous shots of the queen's garden, my favorite is the one with the cat! I missed this post about Balcic, it was made when I switched from manual to automatic voting and it was a time when I was testing the app and making mistakes.

I hope you noticed a difference in approach to the place, he is talking about the botanical garden and I am talking about the Queen's Garden. Naturally, history is seen differently in such cases. Lightcaptured is Bulgarian, I don't know what area he lives in but he might be even further from Balchik than I am! Strange, isn't it?

I cannot remember how I automatically voted! I have some and I need to add some, take away some. I do most manual, but need to change the auto. Where do I find it?

Thats funny you should say that about the approach! Had he not said Balchik, I would never had known! The approach is definitely different. I live seeing how different people see the same thing. The cat! Definitely for me!

I used to have a list. I hope you have been having a great day!! Can you guess where I went already??

20230721_090504.jpg

I too searched a lot and finally found it. I hope you can log in, they ask for HiveSigner, which was a mystery to me but I managed to get into the program, and I think you will too...
HiveVote

I guessed it, of course. In the sunflower galaxy!

I had the program but couldn't find what I was looking for. I appreciate your help! Thank you!

I thought you were interested in those you follow, i.e. those who get the automatic vote from you. In FANBASE you find that and there, on the blue wheel, you can change the data, you can delete and in the box above, where it says "Welcome dswigle", in your case, you can add new people...
I'm attaching this screenshot from my program.

:) Have a great day!

Thank you. I wish you the same!

WOW 100 acres of sunflowers that is amazing and so beautiful

Knowing how you love flowers i know you loved your visit there

here is my post for this week where as is your sis peace and the beauty of nature mine is chaos

It always amazes me how much 100 acres really are! In the world of sunflowers, once it covers most of the land, it will look like an endless sea of beauty, something that will take your breath away. I hope it blooms as planned, but we all know Mother Nature will have its own plan. :)

There is something redeeming about flowers in nature and sunflowers carry it with them wherever they are. You are right, I do so love it there at the Sunflower Farm!

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your words and your link! As always, thank you for your support! I hope you are staying cool up there! We are dying on the vine here. :)

#MarketFriay loves you!

Yes Mother nature for sure lets us know often who is in control :)

Have a great day

Thanks so much! It is Saturday! It is hard to not have a great one, especially given the weather is perfect today!

Enjoy the beauty of this day!

Well, that's my definition of a sunny story :) Kudos and congrats for the top pin, pleasure to be in your company :)

Thank you! What a nice thing to say. I never post into Pinmapple, but I do love perusing the profile. :)

Thanks so much and it is I who bow down to your photography. Thank you for dropping by and leaving your words.

Have an amazing day!

Ha! Now that you say it, I love the pins; the community is great but a bit overcrowded to me, to be completely honest, so I also post inside other communities, mine as well, I have to develop it :)))
My pleasure, completely :)
Have an awesome Saturday yourself too!

Thank you so much!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time. I've never been to a sunflower farm before, but now I'm definitely adding it to my list of places to visit.

I love the fact that the sunflowers are planted in a staggered fashion, so there will be plenty of time to enjoy them throughout the season. And the sunflower mazes sound like a lot of fun! I can't wait to see your photos of the farm when it's in full bloom.

Sometimes when I am driving through the backroads, there will be a field of sunflowers that are planted. It always surprised me, yet, it is such a beautiful sight.

I agree about the staggered planting. It really extends the season and I suppose it makes it a bit more difficult for them also when it comes to harvesting. It makes harvesting a longer process too.

I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

#MarketFriday loves you1

Hi Denise
Wow, that's a huge field of sunflowers. And although it is a little expensive what you have to pay, it is a great thing that you can go as many times as you want.
I have always wanted to visit a sunflower field because I love those flowers. I recently found out that there are some large sunflower fields here that are being reactivated to make oil. I am very curious to go but it is about 5 hours away from the city, and I have not had the chance yet.
I hope you can make the most of those visits.

Here is my post for this week. Yesterday, I forgot to leave the link here;)
https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@coquicoin/giving-a-second-life-to-my-books-for-market-friday

Have a great weekend 🌻🤗

The $75.00 price was for the tulips and sunflowers together, Which was a good price together as I got ten tulips (almost) every day. :) Over 200 tulips! Now sunflowers, 3 every day Close to 100 if I go (almost) every day. I couldn't nearly afford that many flowers.

However, I get it. No matter how cheap it is, you have to be able to afford it to get a great price. That is not lost on me and I often wonder how to approach it.

If they are going to reactivate it, they will be planting more and more over time. If you wait long enough, the fields will grow out to where you are. :) They are growing out to me now in the US. I have gone every day, even if I only drive by on my way home. It gives me a walk for the day plus, I get my free sunflowers.

Thanks so much for dropping the link! Much appreciated!

I can't believe that this is
real.
I have seen sun flowers in pictures but never beloved that they could be this numerous and beautiful, now you are there witnessing it live and sharing this beautiful with us.

I wish I can watch how the sunflowers follows the movement of the sun, I bet that it will be magical.

Thanks for sharing this beauty.

https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@monica-ene/buying-food-or-cooking-at-home-which-is-a-most-frugal-means

You can find a time-lapse on YouTube! I think you might enjoy watching it. The field that I am going to now, actually a working farm, has 100 acres and what you see is only 5 acres bloomed... so there are 20 times more flowers coming in the next few weeks. Then, I will be able to show you what amazing looks like!

I hope to be able to capture it!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words.

#MarkertFriday loves you!

I can't wait to see them all.

:) That makes two of us! Probably in a couple of days. As usual, life gets busy on the weekends!

Enjoy your week ahead and I hope life is going well for you!❤️

Sunflower! You chose, that is, you took some great photos. The sunflower is so beautiful that all the photos with it are wonderful, but I especially like yours, you captured the pure beauty of their freshness.

Your farms are such a good place to feel in the country, so close to the city. You have to know how to appreciate these places and you know this and know how to convey your joy, awakening the desire in us to look for and see at least a sunflower!

I still don't know if I will end up in a field full of sunflowers, so I hasten to thank you for taking me!

Thank you, Dan! @bluemoon It is always a challenge when they are only partly bloomy, they have many, many acres to go, and hopefully, the pictures will show it off even better. They are a little late this year, but they are making a brilliant recovery from it.

One of my best friends here (he went to school with me when I was growing up, his father got transferred to Washington, DC when we were in high school! Small world, yes? We kept in touch and now he is a beekeeper, minutes out of the Beltway. Crazy coincidence that we kept in touch.

The Beltway refers to Interstate 495, the Capital Beltway, a circumferential highway (beltway) that has encircled Washington, D.C. (the capital of the United States) since 1964. Some speakers of American English now employ the word as a metonym for federal government insiders. They call them Beltway Bandits.

Now there is information about the area that you never asked for. :) There is more, but, I won't bore you! LOL

Anyway, back to my friend. He has a good amount of land, but, his dad bought it years ago. This area had a lot of farms outside of the city and some are still here. I am a little further out than he is, but still, they are buying a farm that is about 3km away. The father passed away and the kids didn't want to farm. This is not a new story. I do love this area, but it seems like it will be citified further out than I will put up with.

So let us just enjoy the field of dreams while we can and share the joy! Thank you so much for visiting, Dan! Have a wonderful day!

#MarketFriday loves you!

They call them Beltway Bandits.

I love this. Thanks for telling me this story which, of course, I didn't know.

You took me by surprise, @dswigle! I should have realized there was more to it than just visiting farms. How I would love it and how glad I would be to know you are a farmer now too. I have to say I'll put that in prayer too...

I love the farms, Dan, but not to own. Farms are a lot of work that I am not equipped to run - nor do I want to. That probably makes me seem lazy, but, I know my strengths. That is not one of them.

I do love visiting different farms, and working farms. They are interesting to me.

I love the term Beltway Bandits, although that describes most that work around here as working for the government is what everyone does. :)

I hope you are having a great weekend!

That's what I thought you said but it turns out I misunderstood.
Surely a farm means a lot of work, I thought you were interested in land as an investment.
Otherwise, I too am lazy and have no desire to engage in hard work.

Already weekend... I wish you a pleasant and restful one too!

You are right. I have bought land for investment purposes. Even if I don't sell it, it would be passed on to my kids who would have a nest egg to sell.

I used to work harder than I do now, but, life has to have balance, so I am taking my balance so I am not in a deficit mode. :)

I hope your week has started out wonderfully! @bluemoon

The week started with temperatures of 40-42 degrees Celsius and will remain so until the weekend. I like that I can stay indoors more... I have a kind of holiday at home!

I'm glad it's like that, that you've invested. I, too, invested in some land, about 15 km from Bucharest. It hasn't yet reached the value that would make me sell and even if I needed the money now, I prefer to leave the land, which will pass to my son... eventually.

It's normal to stop working so hard, I like your balance and I'm glad you do so.

I wish you a wonderful summer, @dswigle!

So sooo beautiful 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 love to look at them and love that they turn with the sun. Such a joy always.
It’s great they give you 3 each time. I would go for sure.
Yep, I knew about all the little flowers in the head 😉

What a wonderful addition they have now. Food trucks, music and a firework.
It will be stunning to see it there. Yes, take lots of pictures 😎

Thank you so much Denise for sharing.
I finally posted a post about our rental ordeal while moving… but I included also the fun parts after 😁
Enjoy reading 🤓 and listen to the birds in the video, so precious 🥰

!LADY 🌺

They are so fun to drive by and marvel at, but also to drive up and walk around the fields. We have quite a few here, especially as you leave the city and make your way out onto the backroads of America.

I know! The food trucks are really pretty good and a nice addition. The music, fireworks, and the kid's fun. All a bonus for me! I'll take pictures when I go again, which should be soon. Thank you so much for coming along, and singing my song! :) I look forward to your post!

Have a great weekend, Jackie!
#MarketFriday loves you!

So wonderful you have a few around. It is so much fun to see and visit!

Cool, looking forward to that post 😊 I love it when food trucks are pretty good.
You are welcome Denise, happy to join in and come along.

Thank you so much, have a great weekend too 👋🏻😊☀️🌺
!HUG

Food trucks used to be terrible, once upon a time. Now, they have some of the best food LOL

How did that happen?

Indeed… love getting food in food trucks now.

I think that the chefs don’t want to be stuck with expensive buildings and be more mobile.
Or it’s their way up to a cute restaurant…

Good afternoon 👋🏻😊

Dear @dswigle, you just got hugged.
I sent 1.0 HUG on behalf of @littlebee4.
(2/3)

Thanks for the hug!

Oh yes I remember our tulip visit with you Denise. What a sight to behold. I remember in Spain we had fields and fields of sunflowers but only saw them driving past. You walking amongst them like that is pure heaven

I have driven by many here in the States, and never could resist stopping and snapping a few shots. I just asked a farmer here if I could photograph his sunflowers. He was so nice and told me yes, but, come back at sunset! How nice. It rained. :( I will go back this week, time prevents me, but, I will get back.

In Europe too, especially Italy! I wasn't surprised but was surprised that there was a good amount in Tuscany, but, hard to find in other places there. Or perhaps, I just didn't see them. Spain, of course, but, I was surprised to see them in Ukraine. Not sure why, but, it shocked me. A few other places, but, that is where they stood out to me.

I hope you get to walk through it sometime. It is a very cool experience! How is your summer? I am totally jealous if you have any cool weather, it is hot as Hades here. Thank you for stopping by!

You did beat me!

Tulips, Lavender and then Sunflowers! That will be the end, they we will love on to picking fruit! Which I have already done, I can't believe I did not take pictures! Are you having a meetup?

Let's go to lunch and we'll talk about it! Thanks for stopping by and chatting, then dropping the link! Have a great night, Ace! @ace108

Wow, early in the morning but still already evening for us. 😎
You're welcome.

You didn't realize the 12-hour difference between us and Singapore? You are the easiest for me because of that difference. Although, it is that difference that makes it a bit harder too. :)

Well, good morning, good evening to us once again! @ace108

I know it's 12 hours from east coast but I'm just surprised you post at 5am

At that time, I can reach almost everywhere in the world. While 5 am is early for the US and this part of the world, in a couple of hours, they will be up. At midnight, this part of the world might be in bed.

It was the only way I could justify everyone being up.

Unexpected stuff for #marketfriday! This is one of my 4-5 very fave flowers, I adore sunflowers. 🤩🤩🤩 Fantastic trip I'd love, !LUV to join.

😊😊😊😊

I love sunflowers. I love to be surrounded by sunflowers. Gosh, I want to have my photos taken here.

Here's my entry for the Market Friday, I published this on a Friday: https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@itravelrox/market-friday-shopping-at-kuala-lumpur-city-gallery

It is kind of fun taking pictures in the middle of the sunflower fields. From there, it looks like endless rows of flowers surround you.

Thank you for dropping the link to your #MarketFriday post. I appreciate it! Have a great week ahead!

It is. Being surrounded by flowers makes us young and beautiful. <3

The photo with the one flower, head and shoulders about the rest, made me laugh this morning as I am here about to walk to work. I don't really know why, but it just amused me somehow.

So beautiful. I know it has to feel marvelous to be able to be surrounded by such bright beauty.

It kind of made me snicker just a little bit too. There were two of the tall ones. It must be genetic, like having a tall parent. Sometimes it doesn't take anything for me to get a giggle out of something. It just hits me that way. Crying is the same, although I am pretty sure I wouldn't be crying over a genetically superior sunflower.

I can hope anyway...

It really is pretty cool to be able to stand in the middle of the field and slowly turn around, I cannot believe how beautiful it feels, I can never truly capture how I see it.

I am looking forward to the next few weeks as the sunflowers keep opening, to cover the rest of the farm! This is a small piece of what they have. It is in various states of growth as they stagger the planting.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your words!

Ah, I love sunflower farms. They always make me smile when I see them even if it is just a small patch of them alongside the road. Awesome stuff. I did a bit of a #marketfriday post today as well.

There must be a contest going on elsewhere. This is the third person that gives me choices. :)

Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving your link! You are on time and your words got lost in my comment section. I upvoted and forgot to comment!

Hello! Hello! Thank you for sharing your link! I appreciate it.

Wow! what a cute engine! this is a cool marketing ploy: such a walk is very impressive and memorable. Sunflowers are amazing!!! 😍 I always thought that one sunflower flower is one flower. 😃 when you described the tips for visiting this farm, I thought that I was going to the beach like this: sunscreen, hat, snack, light clothes! 😁 they put on a show there! I'm impressed! I'm sure you had a wonderful time there! The girl in your photo has a yellow umbrella, I have a similar one but pink 😃
https://ecency.com/hive-196308/@tali72/shopping-for-office-supplies

The girl worked there and she was giving out umbrellas to people so they didn't get too hot/too much sun. When you open it up, it is a sunflower! :) I think they are cute, but, because of the camera and water bottle, I didn't have enough hands to hold them, so I left the one she tried to give me behind.

It was quite shocking to learn that it wasn't one flower, but one of many flowers. I laugh at the tips - you are definitely right, but they kind of do go by many of the same rules because of the heat.

They put on a great show! I will have to get more pictures to post! Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words and dropping the link!

Wow! umbrella from above like a sunflower! this is great! It would be very interesting to see such a design. thank you my dear!

I will see if I can get a picture of one of them when they are open!

Wow! I so love the blooming sunflowers and I wish I could visit a place as amazing as that. Surely when I am there, I so love to take pics from different angles. So a lovely place.

By the way, here is my participation for this week's Market Friday:

https://ecency.com/hive-196308/@pinkchic/the-famous-dried-fish-pedjanga

Happy Market Friday and best regards.

It is so very beautiful! In another week, it will be easier to get more angles! Right now, it is just beginning to bloom, the weather was not cooperating, but, I went anyway.

They are starting to bloom, more and more each day, until there are acres and acres filled with sunshine flowers. I'll go back and see them a few more times before the go to seed. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words and dropping your link!

I hope all is well in your world!

#MarketFriday loves you!

This really sounds like a perfect outing! I love the activities they offer to make your visit even more eventful...all while you can admire acres full of sunflowers!

And I think buying the season pass is a no-brainer! That is the best value for money!

I don't think I'll be able to make it though...It's a little far for me...lol! So, I'll be looking forward to those pictures you'll be taking for us to enjoy😄👍!

You will find my post for this week here.

Are you sure, Jaco? @jacoalberts Positive? I think you might be missing out! Just know that we will miss you. They do their best to offer up some really family-fun activities. They have a huge play area with trampolines, a village of mini houses for kids, see-saws, swings, and even a petting farm for kids with educational activities that are going on.

The season pass included the tulip field, even better! Right?

I will be going back a few more times and then, maybe a few more than that. Thanks so much for stopping by and for dropping your link! I hope that you have a great evening as it is soon to be coming!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Hahaha...It was a difficult decision! Wow! But now that I see that you will miss me...well, at least I'm feeling better after hearing that...lol!

It really sounds like a lot of fun for the whole family!

Wow! So the season pass included the tulip field? That's awesome! I thought it was only for the sunflowers! That is even better, indeed!

I hope you'll enjoy every single visit, @dswigle! But I'm sure you will!

Thank you! You know I will! :)

Bad luck I have passport but I don't have ticket and visa so I could not come to visit but it's looking eye and mind Refreshing. These clicks are heart catching.

My post of the week.
Happy day in the sunflower garden, many benefits one of which is the seed can be made food if in indonesia "Kuaci". Very beautiful scenery. Thank you.

Thank you for dropping your link!

It is always a great day in the garden, especially with the sunflower seeds. Is Kuaci the Indonesian word for sunflower?

The birds love the sunflower seeds!

#MarketFriday loves you!

@dswigle, that's right sunflower seeds for snack but sunflower that are planted in indonesia. There are also pumpkin seeds to make kuaci snack. Thank you, you're welcome. Happy day.

Your visit to acres wide fields of sunflowers are amazing. I like photos too. I will try to post, do we need to put bills/slips also in post while posting

Some do, some just go through how much it costs. The best way to get the feel for it is to read a few posts from #MarketFriday and you can see how some people approach it. It is as varied as the ideas are, which makes it even more fun.

Any questions, you can ask me here or on discord @dswigle

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words.

The amount of sunflowers in one place is just wild. In all my life growing up around farms and around the country life, I have never seen that many in one place. One cool fact from your post I never knew was that sunflowers actually followed the sun from rise to set. Goes to show I can learn something new all the time. Thanks for sharing another nice trip out to the market.

I always thought that is why they called them sunflowers - because they followed the sun. :)

I could be wrong! That was the little kid in me justifying the name. What you saw was less than five acres. There are one hundred acres planted and in various stages of growth. I can hardly wait to see them en masse!

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your words! Always good to see you! I hope you are having a great day! The weekend is almost upon us!

#MarketFriday loves you!

I always thought it was because they kind of of looked like a sun.😀 I think you were the smartest of us though and had that one pegged. I have never known anything about flowers really except how to NOT grow them successfully.

Yes, in such a large field like that they just look amazing. I did have a good day and hope you did too. Hugs @dswigle !

Thank you @coinjoe!!! That is awesome!

Hugs!

It's really nice to walk along the field of sunflower 🌻, i only see a little pot's of sunflower but never walked into the field.

A whole field of gorgeousness right there. Looks to be a lovely place to while away a few hours and come out of there in a joyful frame of mind! Thanks for the tour <3+66

Aren't they just the happiest flowers?? I love the way their flowerhead bobs in the breeze! It was nice to wander through the fields late yesterday afternoon, it was dinnertime, so the fields were more at peace than normal. :)

I am so happy you liked the tour, I will go back a few more times before the end of the season! Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words!

I haven't been to any sunflower farm in my life, (I have seen a sunflower, though) but this vast field of these yellow beauties is such an overwhelming and wonderful sight!
Thanks for sharing!☺️

Thank you for stopping by. This is only a 3 acres piece of field. This farm planted 100 acres and they are coming up in various state of growth right now. I hope to get back and take more pictures soon!

I saw a lot of yellow finches among the sunflowers yesterday and I am sure that is just the start of it all. I think you are right and Denise won't be out in the fields as the mice take them over. :)
