Major worries and concerns growing in our family

For awhile now I have been doing all I can to avoid posting about the current stresses ongoing with our little tight nit family unit. Mainly due to the fact I just am too humbled to seek for help outside of myself by working for what I make in life. This is a quality deeply instilled in me due to the man that raised me and his father before him. We come from a very working class Irish-American family, from County Cork, Ireland to be exact a couple generations ago, so its ingrained from birth that the only right way to make it in this world is through dedication and work. There comes a time though when obstacles are so heavy in front of you that you sometimes have to suck it up and admit to yourself the only way to resolve the issues maybe through the help of others, its taken me a few weeks and a lot of new friends here in Steemit to grasp that but many have begun telling me to write what I am about to share openly with you in this post. I do hope you guys read this one completely because this is a bit more of a personal situation in my life that is wreaking havoc within my family bad.

My father, great man and silent giver to all

My father's name is John Flaherty, a very hard working man his whole life and actually spent many years of his youth over in Vietnam fighting for this country. My dad though is not a very political man, he mainly went due to the draft and due to a passion within himself to help others and defend the strangers in America that he considered family in the late 60s and well into the early to mid 1970s.

From there my father was an electronics engineer, working even in a few top secret programs with sub contractors that were building systems that ultimately landed in with NASA's usages. We don't know much about this side to his work, he has kept faithful to the system that national security was involved so as far as we know that is between him and his company.

Hard times hit though in the late 80s for my father. Dedication to his work did not pay off like it does for so many small timers working in government contracts, so he was laid off and its been up and down financially ever since. He ended up moving us to Florida when I was 10 from his home state of Connecticut and from there the constant attempts to rebuild a life for our family, including my little sister Kelli has been an up and down rollercoaster as it is for many Americans due to the way this country runs.

The present issue going on

To speed you up without a long day to day story about 70 years of my fathers life, we had a horrible bit of info come back from my fathers doctor at the local Veteran's hospital 2 years ago that my father carries with him 2 aortic aneurysms located near his stomach. The chances of the slightest jerk or movement could rupture this so he has been under the care of doctors at the local VA but still to this day the important surgery keeps being put off.

We have theories on this in my family, my dad is the silent type so he seriously does not feed us all the info out of pride but we suspect the reason in the last 2 years he has not been into surgery could be due to insurance and lack there of for men in the VA system so they keep putting him off. While this is going on my dad had to take a forced retirement so to make matters worse he is now stuck providing income via Social Security checks which is sinking them even more in debt than ever before....good old America looking out for the guys they put in harms way as usual.

Today I got a jist of the situation in passing that my father is risking his life due to finances. He is too proud to fully say it but today their fridge just went on the fritz and through stressful worries I found out how seriously in debt they are and this is creating a perfect storm of him putting his health issues off. I am personally as well in a rebuild issue in life and my sister just got through a serious divorce so we are all stressing out in the family trying to figure out what to do so my dad can unburden himself of this needless putting off of such an important surgery to save his life.

Doctors have told my mom that he is a literal walking time bomb, and this was over a year ago so how he is still moving around in the pain I catch him in is beyond me. Definitely a humble tough guy never wanting anyone to put themselves out for you him but I think its time I try to take a little charge in the family on this and seek help.

I am going to try to put aside funds I earn from this here to help them, kind of surprise them with a sum as fast as I can to hopefully get him to afford the simplistic and most important thing a human deserves and that is a healthy life after so many years of service to his family and to his country. But I am not with a lot, this is part of the reason those with my Steemit Blogger Central project see me so determined to work 16 hour days, just so I can get ahead to help others and also to help my family out.

I hate to beg or ask for help but if you could maybe pass this around so we can use this post to at the very minimum raise enough to help my parents get a fridge would be sweet, can't expect the community to pay for everything but a boost towards them to not stress as we sort this issues with his needed surgery could go a long way. Stress is bad for aneurysms and right now that is worrying me and my mom here.

Thoughs that know me know this post was not easy for me to write up but I am feeling very up against the wall on this one, this man has put up with a lot of my shit as a wild kid, has always been there for me through anything I done in life and I really want to give him some quality to his life as swiftly as I can. The man is my hero, always has been even if he doesn't see that daily out of me, the suffering right now I see him deal with is just not fair.

This just further divides me from this US Government, you would think they would better take care of those under their Veteran's funded budgets but they don't. I been to that hospital with him numerous times and its a madhouse of inanities how many people sit there all day like they don't matter. I truly hope in crypto we form something better even in health care because the way its being done, its not right!

If you can please upvote, I am going to take what comes at this to put on a card for my parents to catch up their bills so he can focus on his health and stop being stubborn about it. I thank all of you that take the time to read this and those that help, at the very least send a few prayers to our family, its been an ongoing rough time and we could use the break.

Sort:

All the best to you and your father.

Thank you so much for that and the support. I just followed you and it means a lot to us during this constantly stressful time. Wasn't easy sucking it up about this and posting but I figure we are family here and we do so much for each other that I figured its just time I let this out.

I'm following you, too. Keep up the good work.

Really appreciate that. If you notice my feed has been more related to the crypto and Steemit community, rare I post personal stuff but I figure its time, I been here long enough and everyone here is growing to be a second family to me and my fiance so I think its time now and then to get more personal with everyone. I am really honored to have you with me here, don't be a stranger

Of course, nothing wrong with sharing personal things here during hard times. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thank you....I am sure its something that will get easier for the family, just one of those moments where one stress hits after another. Really do appreciate the support, this is why I am full time in here helping with my projects to promote others work in Steemit, real genuine good people all working together is a very powerful thing

real story of girl in my society
To those who might find this offensive, please don't proceed.
And to those who think this is a ninja technique of getting attention, please kindly think of your favourite bad word, and think that I gave that to u 😂😂
So I am girl soon to be 20 and for me, football is life. From school days I used to play wrestling, football with boys and used to be a don 😂 Friends said I should have been born as a boy. Btw I am a straight girl 😂
So let's come to the point. I think thinking about is Ronaldo actually leaving real Madrid or it's just rumours is actually better than worrying about what to wear to please anyone. And worrying about can Gianluigi Buffon win CL in his last season is far more better than thinking about Falano wore that and looked better than dhiskano. And discussing about the transfers in this window is better than discussing about people and their personal life.
I know everyone has their own interest and their own point of view, but discussing about people on their back is never a good thing. I won't say every people out there who doesn't watch or play football or any other sports has the same habit or there can be a people who are interested in both sports and cheap strategies. But to those who have a spare time to think about others everytime, grow up people. I have not stated any gender here, so please, the feminist people will kindly be ignored.
And to those dear people (only for them Hai) who think that they should get a special treatment or respect just because of their shitty gender, work hard, fight for that and earn the respect yourself.
And last, if girls think that some happiness lacks in their life, some thing's still left even though u have every thing, some celebration lacks in ur weekends, please try being a football fan and wake up at 12am to watch football rather than to wish someone a shitty Happy Birthday that comes every year. Because football is HAPPINESS ❇
Peace 👌
Plz follow and upvote me i am new in steemit

@binaya please don't take offense to this but I figured I would just help you out here in case you do this on many posts. Steemit has users running around that will downvote you for comments like this, I won't because I get it you want more followers but the community may frown on you for this and by looking at your reputation score of 6 I suspect you already been getting downvotes. This post here was a very personal one that took a lot of courage for me to write and while I appreciate you trying to grow but its probably in the wrong way here by leaving a comment not related to the articles. Just as a heads up the whales see stuff like this they will downvote you till your rep is 0 and then no one will be able to see your profile which rules you out from making anything with Steemit. Don't think you are aware of that so wanted to give you a friendly bit of advice to not do this in comments because I seen many people end up with worthless accounts for it.

sorry for that .i am new here(steemit).so support me and encourage me

No need to apologize, honestly get it and your drive to grow your page. I just noticed your REP points being so low, anything below 25 usually means people with a lot of voting power have downvoted you so be careful out there in how you ask around for followers, they get so picky with how we go about it. I actually run a thing called Steemit Blogger Central on Facebook, Twitter and we have a Slack chat now...it helps people reach others and maybe a route you might want to take to grow. I resteem posts for users in our Slack so if you want here is the links for my stuff and maybe that will help you out.

Upvoting and resteeming, sweetie. I'll keep your dad in my thoughts. Hoping for the best!

I really appreciate that help, main thing right now is just getting the help to take a few issues off his back, the surgery stuff we are about to have a long talk about this week so I can find out what is the hold up and why he is not having this done. Its financial though, I am sensing the ongoing ups and downs on my parents is making him financially put it off. I plan to take my earnings here with some side holdings of BTC and combine it with this post, should help cover the fridge issue that happened today. I really appreciate the help here and spreading the word. Just to be able to help my parents with the help of this community and friends within in it is a blessing.

upvoted and retweeted. hope it all comes together.
There is no glory in unnecessary suffering.
Thanks for your help today on steem central and the slack. Much appreciated

Thank you so much buddy, I just hope at the least I can raise enough to hand over to them to at least knock something out so they can get this surgery going. I am unsure if he is just fearful to put them in debt more by doing it or what but its like you said very unnecessary but its that old school working class pride instilled in my dad. I have had enough of it though lol...gonna give him all I can out of my pocket and show him Steemit can be of help. Maybe then after he is healed up we can get him on here to thank the Steemit family. Thank you so much and no problem about the slack, glad I got you guys a place to grow together

I'm sorry to hear about your father @sflaherty. I served my country as well and it saddens me how little our governments do to help out veterans who are in need. Sending your family well wishes and hope your father gets well soon.
Reestemed.

Thank you so much my good friend. Its sad, its a strange mix....my father's stubbornness to tell anyone the extent they are going in debt and the VA constantly putting off the surgery for last minute over insurance and money. How he has prolonged this as long as he has and bared with it shocks me. I am sure this will turn out fine but maybe if I can just toss them a little something to take the debts off them or force him to take the help to get the surgery finally done will be a huge weight lifted. I know its in the few grand level though and not expecting that much help but maybe to get him the fridge he now needs would be a plus. Figures this hits them after scraping by to fill up the shelves. Thank you for the resteem, all the help I can get for them is so appreciated buddy

This post received a 39% upvote from @randowhale thanks to @cryptodan! For more information, click here!

thank you @cryptodan for that generous whale upvote on this. And thank you to @the-traveller for the wallet tip, just seen that buddy, means a lot to us. All this is going off to the exchange come pay out and putting it on our Bitpay card for my parents. Forcing them to accept help for once...lol.

Tweeted, upvoted & re-steemed. Vets deserve it.

Thank you so much, my dad has no clue I did this yet but I am hopeful he will suck it up and for once let someone help him. Really means a lot to me for the help on this. I been keeping this to myself and trying to secretly pull together stuff for them in crypto but its time I wake up that a little help is needed in this area. Its a tragedy how Vets are treated after they age and unneeded by the system. Especially though that went to Vietnam, probably one of the worst messes for soldiers in 50 years.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your Dad and family, brother @sflaherty - I don't think it is anything at all to ask that your Steemit friends raise $$$ for a fridge. That's really not much to ask at all considering what your father did to fight for our freedom in a time when those who served were unappreciated and often shunned. I hope enough of us can come together to help and make a positive difference. God Bless

Thank you @lanceman , I just feel bad in a way because I am so financially rebuilding myself when they have things hitting them hard lately. Biggest hope is to raise just enough to get him this fridge, they are arguing about this and stressed out so bad lately its just not beneficial to the growing health concerns surrounding his situation. I just don't get why the VA keeps doing monthly checkups to pass him off for another month for 2 years now. I know they are keeping an eye on the situation but you would think by now that would have been done and over with. Poor insurance system for Vets in this country, risk your life to risk it more on their health ideals

I wish your father well and you and your family peace in such a stressful time. Up voted! Life has a funny way of working itself out just hang in there.

I really appreciate that help, I try to keep positive whenever stress hits...its just the hands tied situation to help when I want to help my parents that has me a little stressed. Thankfully this community and people like you make me have a little power in doing something for them and I can't express how much that means to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart from my family, every little bit helps a ton right now

Resteemed for you. Your family is in my heart. <3

Thank you so much for that, truly helps more than you know.

my mothers maiden name is flaherty and they hailed from county cork, we may be related in some way.

That would be crazy but its possible. I have family over there still, distant family but a bunch of them lol. I do know there is a ton of Flaherty's and O'Flaherty's in that region but a lot of them are related. My great grandfather came from there and settled in Connecticut, a lot of that side of the family stems from New York and Connecticut. My dad, he is a stubborn, classic Irishman about his health so I figured put this out there in hopes I can shove some money in his face and make him do what needs to be done. Really appreciate your comment, be crazy though if we are related. Followed you cousin lol

Our thoughts will be with your family Flaherty. Resteem, upvoted.

Any way to help

2Kz

I truly appreciate that my good friend. My dad is just the most stubborn guy in the world lol. Won't let anyone help so I figured its time I took charge behind his back and just raised what I can and hand it over. Not taking no for an answer on this one, he is gonna have to just get used to the idea doing it alone is not accomplishing anything. I really appreciate that support, means so much to me with your help

Most dads are stubborn man. Mine has a bad hip and he insists of going abouts the day to day the same. Being angry by pain, but not doing much about it. Its really sad to watch. There is only so much us young men can do. To help, to learn, and to not put ourselves in that position.

I agree, lol...they come from that old school you work, you feed your family and you leave when its your time respectfully. My dad is the quiet type as it is, getting a word out of him is energy wasted sometimes lol but I tell you this, he seems to put hints out there he needs help but you ask him whats going on its everything is fine. This fridge going out though was the kicker for him I think, him and my mom rented homes and apartments all their life and saved to finally buy a house about a decade ago but the finance company raised rates on all Americans here so that has been hell and due to that things in the house been unmaintained. When that went out today he tossed it up in the air that this house was going to kill him because he is sinking money in it constantly vs his health, thats when it hit me how much he is keeping the struggle to the chest.

Haha sounds like my dad. Doesn't want to leave his house... king of his castle. In our case its the kids growing up and the value of the house increasing tremendously (as we live near Toronto and the giant housing bubble).
That's just how us men are, stubborn.... hahaha

lol we will end up the same way probably, I catch myself questioning his stubborness but doing the same thing on my kids and my fiance at times lol...just rubs off on the generations over time as we age I think

I call it being a man haha

Upvoted man

Hope you get all the money you need to get your father operated

Thank you so much, just followed you but I could have sworn I was following you already....maybe a system mess up. Main thing right now is to just get him with some of these bills off his back, I would love to raise enough to hand him the operation costs but I believe that is looking over a few grand so I am kind of just hanging the hope on just getting him as close to it as possible. I really thank you for that support and help on this. It wasn't easy to open up publicly here about this, I am usually a spreader of info and positive vibes but friends kept on me to open up about this hidden stress going on so I figured this community is as much of a family as my own lately so keeping this to myself probably was the wrong way of dealing with it. Our family appreciates you for this, will keep everyone in the loop from now on about the outcome

My upvote added 40 bucks to your post... Hope the best for you two.

Thank you so much @theprophet0 for that huge boost on this. Really means a lot. I try to usually just post crypto, news, anarchy stuff but seeing the stress lately on my parents made me feel its time I opened up to this great community I been backing a lot lately. You really did us a huge golden and I can not thank you enough. I been following you by the way for a few weeks lol...just been so busy with my Steemit Blogger Central thing for the community that I haven't had much time to comment on everyone's posts. At the least this will at least help my dad to tackle the bills getting in the way so he can take care of the health issues, I will keep everyone posted on this. Thank you again so much, starting to feel a little like I can maybe help them a bit more than my own personal situation was able to manage

No worries! I wish you the best.. I don't like to see people struggling.

I am the same very way. It just hits at the worst moments, me and my fiance are just about to get ahead of the curve so our hands are so tied past a couple hundred we have to spare to help...on our side things are looking up but my parents just seem to keep hitting life roadblocks. A lot of it though is the raising of the interest rates on their home, government has them pretty enslaved as home owners which started this trigger effect when we look back. Very appreciated and its going straight to him come pay out. He is going to be so pissed I did this here but hey when you need help you ask and he is stubborn about that so had no choice lol. Thanks again, good spirit about you which is refreshing

I know how difficult it can be because we are in the same boat, only difference is that my brother and are sickly and my parents are the ones taking care of us.
I know what it is like to be in the position you Dad is in. I hate feeling a burden to ANYBODY!

There are many good people out there who will be willing to give a helping hand. Every little bit counts! I will try and help you spread your post.

Be strong , keep your chin up. Upvoted and passed along.
Everything of the best to you guys.

I am so sorry your going through the health issues yourself...its so hard when something of that effect is out of your hands. You need anything I am here to also help....I try to be more the helper than the helped but sometimes we just have to admit to ourselves reaching out is needed and the only option left. Its a hard thing to do but I will say this its amazing the outreach this community will go to help one of its own. Thank you so much for the extra help...means the world to us here

It is a shame the way that the US and the UK treat their veterans. I think that anyone whoever operates in a theater of war should be put first in line for any medical help they need, insurance or not.

Men like your father (and mine) are of a different breed, they don't show pain, fear or even ask for help, not even with the simplest of things.

Pride is a tough badge to unpin, if only for a moment.

You have my vote and follow!

Good luck @sflaherty

The system is so broken it isn't funny, you would think a soldier no matter how long ago it was serving there country would have treatment and care from its boss in the government but they just do a false public service to look good yet put off spending too much on them when its needed. Its a sad situation but one i hope us working in crypto will overtake and correct. I really thank you for the comment and the help here, means so much to me and my family. Just followed you back, keep in touch and I will keep everyone posted on what happens along the way

Thanks @sflaherty! Who couldn't sympathize? Your father might be feeling lost, but he is certainly not forgotten, especially by those who care. I really wish your campaign all the success and if I can help further I will.

Thanks for the follow. I look forward to hearing the good news down the road ;)

Biggest thing with my dad, he is a genuine person that always puts himself before others, he has never learned to this day that health sometimes needs to come before the family so he can be around to keep his ways of putting the family first. Its that old school mentality and I suspect also a bit of fear about the surgery too, I wonder sometimes if he just tries to forget his issues with his health out of some fears he isn't condoning to us in the family. I will definitely keep you posted, I will slip updates in there between my normal crypto and anarchy posts lol.

Haha, I hear ya! My father and stepfather are the same, and I am sure I come across like it to my son, but sometimes everyone needs an ally, and i'm sure your father will realise that!

Whether that alliance comes in the form of opening up to you and your family, or accepting whatever is raised by the community here, it will happen and will put the wheels in motion towards his recovery.

I look forward to your updates bud. Fingers crossed.

I know I catch myself doing things as a parent I hated my parents doing on me, like telling me what to do lol...now i do it, just comes with the job of parenting and makes more sense when you become a parent yourself. I am sure he will accept the help, he needs it but I hope its not drama for him to take it from me lol

You'll just have to leave him no choice. lol.

Have the fridge delivered with a note saying "With love from Steemit". lol

It is very late for me...

I saw your msg and pulled this up since I saw the title and what it is about - and you matter to me.

I will pay this proper att'n shortly but wanted to say something.

TY for sending me the link about this buddy.

Thanks Barry, you been a true friend and a huge help always to me here on Steemit, just a little bump in the road for the family but we are working through it. Most of all, the show always must go on so I am trying to focus between that and carry on the SBC project. Its always great to have friends like you keeping me going and keeping it positive. By the way, you were right about LOGAN....not so sure about that one lol...its good but not great, and yea the little girl annoyed me too lol

I think the most tangible way I can help you this week is do a post on this for you and the family, borrow some of your wording to keep it real and then donate to you.

It also keeps the issue in the newsfeeds, a few days apart so it does not seem spammy too.

I thought about this all last nite when I got offline and part of today. If that is OK with you.

Sure, if you find you have the time to do so. Any help right now is deeply appreciated. Just not liking the position I am in to not be able to full on help my parent...we are just about to get above the water ourselves but I did take some holdings yesterday and got them food thankfully. I really do appreciate the help...I am also trying not to push it on the community, figured one post and let everyone know whats going on with updates is plenty but I am still kind of small fries here in Steemit so it doesn't get around too much on my side. Still trying to blend the personal family issues and keep at it with the SBC project has been hectic but the show much go on or no one this way will be any better. Thank you for your help, feel free to use anything you want and my parents will truly appreciate that very kind gesture.

Upvoted and resteemed neighbor. Hugs to your entire family. The healthcare struggle is real....

I finally said its time to open up about this, took a lot of pride swallowing but your situation kind of showed me maybe its best to know when help is needed and not everything can be done by ourselves...thank you for that. I am sure this will work itself out but the push here to help was so amazing that I believe I can at least limit the stress of the things falling apart for them, a fridge and filling that back up with food will at the least make sure that new drama won't stress him out as he is sorting out the medical issues. Really appreciate all the help

Sometimes the stress is worse than the illness. Youre a strong sort but Im glad you shared!

Stress can be a killer, this I know too well after surviving myself from a ruptured ulcer in my past....over worries in life only, so we have a lot of effect on ourselves with stress so I try to limit it myself as much as possible

Best wishes to you all.

Thank you so much for the warm wishes of wellness. Just followed you...really appreciate the help and time reading this post of mine.

A son who looks after his father, what an example !!i give all the positive energy!!:o

I truly thank you for the support on this. It just pains me to see how much good my dad done in our family and for the country here to be just constantly struggling through no provocation or reason for the constant bad luck and karma on him lately. Even if I hand over a few hundred between this post and my previous posts it could just dent some of the stresses so he can start to focus on more positive aspects of what he needs to do and that is take care of himself. My dad does a lot of putting family before himself but right now he can't do that anymore so I need to push him towards losing that stubborn side to fend for everyone. Thank you for helping me on this, I just followed you and hope you keep in touch, will keep everyone updated on what happens

Please continue to help your father, for me you are a great example of how a family should be !! love and be loved, by those who did so much for the family !! i want to see more posts about your father !! :)) sending all positive energy !!

Couldn't agree with you more. Sometimes we take for granted all the sacrifices our parents do for us to give us life and a good life. I even admit in my younger years I was a huge pain to my parents but nearing 40 now and at that age where you can see the light of what they did do to having kids of your own. Its a thankless job and now and then we should take a moment to thank them for keeping us alive and well. Really appreciate you seeing that nature and hold that value, hoping more people view these things the same way. Definitely will keep you and everyone posted on what happens. I am with a positive outlook as tough as he has been through this he will overcome and be granted many more years with us, just a scary moment but we will keep it positive for him

After a life time we see that money or anything material that we cling does not matter without family or someone to share, your father knows this more more than anyone, for helping and caring without expecting anything in return !! he deserves another time with the family. In those moments no one better than his son to take care of him and the family as he did!!I'll continue sending you a lot of positive energy!!!:))

Such wise and true words, and your right he deserves these golden years as a time to relax and enjoy his family. Sad the way the world is to make the older hard working crowds suffer till the end but with hope maybe I can stop that outcome here for my father. Thank you for the positive energy when its needed the most, helps a lot

All the best for you and your family!!:))

Thinking of you at this difficult time my friend, life can be bloody hard at times and I hope everything works out for your family.

Thank you, its stressful but we are getting through it as best as possible. We had a talk today and my dad is in good spirits. I told them that i have raised a little to sort out their fridge issue so with that out there my dad ended up using a little line of credit he had to get a fridge today and I will reimburse him so he doesn't tack on a bill he can't afford with this post and the rest of the posts coming...thankfully that should come close to paying the new one off. Can't thank everyone enough for looking out on this post. I am trying to mix the family issues with the dedication to growing that SBC project at the same time so its been a huge juggle but we must keep at things or it will just put it even further behind.

I know the stresses and strains life can heap upon us only too well my friend, It's great that your doing your bit to help nd to take some of the pressure off your Dad. And your steem is going great guns my friend, I'm sure everyone will help you by upvoting or doing anything they can, I know I will.

I try to view the situations in life as positive as I can, I used to be so negative in my life that I learned being positive tends to help so much more with stress and the outcomes in life. Its a tough thing to do but it helps so much when people need your help. I think I am growing a lot of real friendships in here to be honest which is taking me off a little more every day. That SLACK chat I formed is really becoming a tight nit community looking out for each other on Steemit and I think will rise not only me but those involved with it. I am hopin to use that to grow us and get more word out about Steemit so I been juggling that and the life issues as best as possible but so much can be done on my own lol...learning this. The support here with you and everyone else is what I needed, even if its just a comment to remind me not all is lost is a huge thing. Its not all about money for me, that can come later with work but uniting for good causes is a must

I completely agree, sometimes the only thing we have any control over is our reaction to the problems that arise within our lives and in many ways it's the hard times that define who we are. You'll have to let me know about the slack chat, I've just been busy getting to know all about the minnowsupportproject for the last few days so missed lots of posts.

Its all about keeping a cool head in rough times, only way out is through positive thinking and sorting out the answers in chaos, well least that has done the trick for a few things in my life lol.

I created a SLACK chat for Steemit Blogger Central...basically users post there articles in various chat rooms in our slack, connect with other users and I resteem their articles to our Twitter and Facebook. If your curious you can join us anytime. Just follow the link below, sign up with an email and check your inbox for the confirmation and set up your free account and your in.

I'm wishing you all the best for your father. I've upvoted and reposted. I sincerely hope reSteeming helps it get seen. ❤️

Thank you so much for that help. It took shrugging off a lot of pride for myself here to post this, been stalling on it for weeks but after their fridge went and I caught wind how truly in the hole they are and the effects on his health its causing had me with no choice left but to share this. I really thank you for putting this out there. Be so awesome to say to them in a week stop worrying here is what the Steemit community did for you. He is gonna kill me for this though lol...he is so prideful its insane.

Appreciate their service.

Thank you for the support @nepd , its a tragedy how they put my dad in there through a forced draft in Vietnam but they expect him to be in debt in his golden years, a failed system by the Vets as well, risk your life and they just put you off. Really hope at the least with this post I can get him something knocked out to get him closer to stop letting pride and worry of adding more debt to the family and just get what needs to be done happening. Thank you for the help on this one, I guess I have a little pride like my dad, been putting off opening up about this for weeks but I think I better realize its time I let you guys in on what is stressing us out here and get the help for him if I can

I also hope things get better.

Thank you, I am sure it will....just a lot all at once but I am working on it to help and this community is so amazing already about it so I am sure something will come together. Think I have enough back earnings in posts this week to include into the mix to help the situation. Thanks for the comment of support, means a lot to us here

Praying for your family. Upvoting and resteeming.

Thank you so much for the help and upvote. Can't wait to surprise my dad with this here, he may kill me for reaching out on his behalf so publicly but something had to give here lol. I really appreciate the help, this community is so amazing, good to know i got friends here who have my back as much as I have theirs

Sorry to hear this news. I know how tight it's been for you without added pressure. I feel terrible that your dad, or anyone has to go thru this. All I have for you at the moment is an upvote and a resteem. Keep on keeping on bro.

Thanks buddy, that upvote will do a lot for him. Main thing I want to do is take a little pressure off, its been an off and ongoing thing and I think its taking a toll on them lately, just very frustrated and stressed beyond what I seen my parents like before. Figure put together this and my past posts...hand it to them to help. Thank you for the help...means a lot to us

I put up a post with your link as well. Put it on Blogger Central. I feel terrible for your family.

Thank you buddy, its just one of those things, working class families tend to have it rough when someone gets older and insurance makes them have to linger on important matters. They really need to get this healthcare stuff fixed, had no clue it was being put off over finances, my dad being so stubborn was just telling us its just fine and they see no need in the surgery yet, clearly not the case after all. I will work hard to get this turned around but I really appreciate this community and you doing so much for us through it, means the world to me

I resteemed, I don't have a big following, but I hope it helps.

I really appreciate that my friend, hey its not about the size of the crowd but the quality within that crowd. The help is so appreciated, I been so busy trying to get me and the fiance up and work my SBC project that I been so out of the loop with my parents financial issues going so poorly. That fridge going out enlightened me a lot more how much of a struggle they are in. I am just about to get myself above the water so I am tied up from being able to help past a few hundred and I know they need way more. So anything that can push that to a better level for them by this community helping me so I can help them out is big to me. Already didn't expect what I raised up on this post, gonna take a bunch from my previous posts and put it together and force my dad to take it lol...he is stubborn. Thank you so much, it really means a lot to us here

My best wishes to you and yours

Thank you so much buddy, its been crazy lately but with good stuff mixed into the negative stuff. So I think we will turn it around. I figure I will put what I made this week and off this post into my dads stubborn hands and hopefully in the least that will help them to not be so stressed in the moment. Surgery does need to be dealt with, he has to stop putting this off for every one's sake.

Upvoted followed and resteemed. It is always nice to help people out in this community. I hope they will be able to get a new fridge and your dad gets the care he needs and deserves. He fought for us all,and it's time to fight for him.
Good luck and best wishes!

Thank you so much for that, I just followed you back. I agree, this community is so tight and so about helping each other. I actually run a project here to help Steemit users connect and I promote peoples articles with resteems on social pages I run. Today I found out the long days I put in here were truly for a community worthy of the time spent and I think this will encourage me to take my Steemit Blogger Central project to new heights to pay it forward back to everyone. I truly appreciate your help, starting to figure it out...no Steemian is a stranger so glad to have your follow and I am followed back so we can keep in touch. You need anything let me know, here for the whole crowd

I'm sorry to hear about your dad's troubles. Hopefully, he will get the treatment he needs and recover soon. Vets certainly deserve better treatment. Upvoted and resteemed! I don't really have much steem on here to send you since I am new, but if you get me a paypal address, I will send something.

Don't worry about the paypal or position your in, a simple upvote is plenty my friend, that is a huge gesture and does more than you know. I am not trying to raise more than is needed, main thing right now is the fact they are out a fridge, food went bad and I just want to help them get a new one and fill it back up. We are going to have a family talk about the health concerns and get to the bottom of what is going on and why its not being taken care of and go from there. My dad tends to not tell anyone anything so this is a wake up call today to get some action going. I am going to put my earnings with everyones on these posts and Bitcoin it up and give them my Bitpay card for a little while. I think its time I teach them crypto lol...maybe get them to realize this is doing good for lives, Steemit I think is about to empower me to prove that to them this week. Thank you so much for the help...spreading the word is plenty more than I can ask for my friend.

I hope everything works out my friend. My offer still stands if you don't reach what you need. Be well!

Thank you @jdawg ....way its looking between what I have and what this community has done we should be close to helping them out with the fridge at this stage. I have a little Bitcoin holdings on the side I plan to include with it so I think we are good....the offer is very appreciated, should be good to go here.

Praying and upvoting for your da, I know the proud Irish, I have Irish relatives.

Thank you. Trust me my family maybe American-Irish but that Irish blood is thick here lol....can be a stubborn crowd. Appreciate the prayers

Yeah, they aren't called Fightin Irish for nothing!

lol very true, luckily i am calming with age lol...stubborn though when I want something or I believe in something but mellow as can be. Much as I write here, I can be a very boring guy lately myself lol. Guess I fought the fight too much and worn down lol

Have upvoted - wish only the best for you and your family and pray that God will bless and anoint you at this time. Your hard work will not go unnoticed

I probably should have been more open about this going on with the friends I made here but its like one of those things I just figured I could manage to help with on my own. I am such a sucker for not asking for help, I get that from my dad bad but that is kind of why this is going on because my dad won't let anyone in and seek help when he needs it. I really thank you for the upvote, just in hopes whatever I can raise the next week can unburden them at the least with a bill or this fridge going out mess, they been put in the hole longer than I may even know so I will sacrifice my earnings for a bit to help them out. I am sure it will turn out fine, just amazing to me how much this community cares, that is a huge thing after all the hours of work I have done...makes it truly show me its not in vain and I must continue on here as full time as I have been and I will. Thank you so much, means a lot to me and my family

You're welcome and you are a giving and caring person so you deserve all the help you can get

That truly means a lot to me...I aim most of all in crypto to do something to push this in my own small way to benefit the betterment of the future for all. I like to look back and say I used this right and I was a pioneer to change in the right ways against the evils of the world. Through love and compassion, that is the only way we will do that. Thank you

You're welcome :)

Upvoted, Resteemed, and will donate. I wish your family and your father all the best!

Wow my friend that was so generous of you, can't thank you enough. That will go a long way for my parents. It really is a tough spot here, my fiance and I are just now clearing above our own financial rebuilds thanks to Steemit and crypto but just barely in charge enough to really help my parents. Took a lot to admit this so publicly but I really feel so close to this Steemit family after the fact I can open up to you all and you are there for us. You are a huge blessing with the gesture, I will lock that up in some Bitcoins for my dad while its low, combine this post and a few of my past posts with some of my own bitcoins and they should be set to get a new fridge and hopefully we can sort this ongoing surgery issue without these constant added stresses coming at them. Thank you, my family truly appreciates the help

It was my pleasure to be able to do it. It's tough to see your parents age and have the roles reverse. I wish you guys the best!

Its a part to life you kind of take for granted, that they will always be young and able to still take care of you and themselves. I am nearing the big 40 soon and its so crazy how fast life goes by. I believe my dad will be fine once we get him to stop being stubborn and focus on his own health vs looking out for everyone else. Wishing you the best right back, here always trying to help the community myself and its great to see others here look out as well for everyone. Going to definitely pay it forward when I get up there more, thank you again...gratitude beyond the moon here

That's so true, man. I'm turning 46 this weekend and age 40 was about the time I really began to feel the clock start ticking. Our parent's generation IS stubborn! Maybe some of the moxie will be beneficial to your dad. My father is the same way, he has so many aches, pains, and injuries but does more at age 78 than most people do at my age. You're very welcome for the gift. In giving you truly receive. It feels wonderful to finally have the means to make a little difference. Thanks for being a part of our community here. Take care and best of luck to you and your family!

Its funny but the age I am at nearing 40 seems to be this shedding of the old ways and rebirth into a more mature outlook. You kind of realize the wasted time up to this stage and take more charge about your future. A great time and probably why I am so dedicated to the things I am trying to do here in Steemit and crypto in general but I am gathering with that new found focus you tend to get stubborn and I sense that is where my dad got this attitude with age. I believe in the same thing, I have actually done a lot of paying it forward to people while I worked in PIVX coin's marketing and I guess its now a stage I need to accept it sometimes takes a community to help situations like our family is dealing with. Overall though its great to see humanity in Steemit, a lot of crypto has lost that movement touch in its communities so this signifies whatever I do here will be a new way to pay it forward. Thanks for everything. Does mean more than I can put into words

Prayers for your dad. I hope everything works out for you and your family.

That means a lot @dreamsonics and I thank you for the much needed prayers for my parents. Just followed you, feel free to keep in touch....I am here for this community as much as they were for us today, so you need anything let me know. Thanks again

Upvoted and re-steem this post my brother! Finally saw your fiance post :)

Thank you so much, the help is much appreciated. So you finally seen my mysterious fiance lol. Which post did you see? Mine or hers? I posted one a few days ago showing her off and introducing her to everyone here

I just noticed this post via steem.engin post. Hope your dad recovers well. Good luck.

I really appreciate that, he is in good spirits but we are waiting now on word when the surgery will take place, so its a little stressful but in the end we suspect it will turn out fine. Thank you so much for the help and comment of concern. Means a ton to me
