Storytime: I was contacted to make 60 pieces of sauced chicken for a surprise baby shower celebration.
🤔 I thought about how to pack the delicious sauced chicken to look presentable and professional and get it delivered. I knew I had no Buffet serving tray, so I had to improvise.
I used my biggest cake pan (22" by 16" by 3") as my serving tray 😃. I lined and covered it with aluminum foil and gently arranged the delicious garnished sauced chicken in the pan. Then I protected it with cling film first and aluminum foil second to seal up the pan.
It was so perfect and when the guests ate the delicious chicken, they were surprised, satisfied and looked for me to give their compliments and they all enjoyed the chicken and commented on the packaging too and that made my day.

Debt is good when you are leveraging that debt to make more money. But getting into debt to buy stuff that only means more expenses or that will not even last in your life is bad debt.
Well said. But I have to learn how to leverage it wisely. TBH, I have taken loans for investments that burned me later on. So don't know. I had everything planned out pretty well to.
Yeah, it's a good thing to stay out of debt. Those who use it to their advantage won't be in debt because it is assumed that they make more money and they are able to pay back, so it's just for a period of time.
The one that is bad is taking loan to spend on things that don't generate more income.

Rep. Crank to Newsmax: Rare Earth Minerals Deal 'Good for Ukraine'
Rep. Jeff Crank, R-Colo., told Newsmax on Tuesday that President Donald Trump's proposed deal for Ukraine to grant the United States 50% ownership of the country's rare earth minerals "would be good for Ukraine."
Crank, appearing on "National Report," was asked if he thinks it's fair for Trump to demand half of Ukraine's rare earth minerals as a form of reimbursement for the weapons and financial support the U.S. provided during a war with Russia.
"Yes, I do think it's a good thing if you think about it," Crank said, adding, "It would be good for Ukraine."
Rep. Jordan to Newsmax: Need More Answers on Theft of 400K Tax Returns
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told Newsmax on Tuesday that the House Judiciary Committee, which he chairs, is looking into what he considers a favorable deal that a former IRS contractor received from the Biden administration's Department of Justice leading to him pleading guilty to stealing thousands of tax returns and delivering some to left-wing media outlets.
The former contractor, Charles Littlejohn, pleaded guilty in October 2023 to unauthorized disclosure of tax returns and return information, and was sentenced in January 2024 to five years in prison, according to the Department of Justice. Littlejohn reportedly admitted to using the IRS archive to access the tax returns and leaked them to The New York Times and ProPublica.
"We're going to work on getting more and more details about this whole thing," he said. "But I think it's a reflection of the Biden Justice Department and what their priorities [were]. Remember, this is the same Justice Department [that couldn't] tell us who planted the pipe bombs on Jan. 6. The same Justice Department [couldn't] tell us who leaked the [Supreme Court] Dobbs opinion. Same Justice Department [that couldn't] even tell us who put cocaine at the White House.
"So, you know, there's real problems there. I'm really encouraged by Pam Bondi, Todd Blanche, Kash Patel, Dan Bongino, the folks who are going to the Trump Justice Department, I think it's going to be a whole different story."

Harris told The Chris Salcedo Show that Americans need to be patient while Attorney General Pam Bondi reviews all the information before it is released.
Rep. Mark Harris, R-N.C., told Newsmax he is confident classified government files relating to the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy, and civil rights leader the Rev. Martin Luther King will eventually be released to the public.
It's been a month since President Donald Trump signed an order to declassify the files so they could be released. That sweeping blanket order also covers the release of information surrounding the jail cell suicide of convicted sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

City Journal reporter Christopher F. Rufo took to social media Tuesday to announce that Gabbard is preparing a memo to be sent to all intelligence agencies to identify the employees involved.
"Memo sent. We know who they are. Action is underway," Gabbard wrote on X while sharing Rufo's comment.
About an hour after Rufo's post, Gabbard's deputy chief of staff confirmed news of the memo.
"The DNI sent a memo directing all intelligence agencies to identify the employees who participated in the NSA's 'obscene, pornographic, and sexually explicit' chatrooms and to terminate their employment and revoke their security clearances," Alexa Henning wrote on X. "Deadline: Friday."
Apple has said it had an active oversight effort to avoid legal risks and that the proposal inappropriately restricted management.

Are We Barbarians? Do we think we’re better than the Romans?
I suppose if you asked someone to describe the difference between ourselves and the Romans they might answer, “They lived crude backward lives without modern conveniences” or “They were Barbarians. We’re not.” There is a tendency to think everything is better now; that human beings have progressed over the last two thousand years to a higher form – ruled by logic and not fists. I wonder if the “We’re not barbarians” comment is accurate.
I’m a fan of the Showtime series The Tudors, and have observed with curiosity the many beheadings shown in the episodes. I found it surprising that parents brought their children to these “events” held five hundred years ago. Wouldn’t we label this barbaric behavior? Why would a mother bring a child to witness a beheading, watching the head fly off and blood shoot all over? Is this any different from gladiators in the Coliseum?
The word barbarian comes from “baba”, the Greek term for speech they couldn’t understand, particularly those of the backward tribes to their north. To the Greeks, barbarians were people who didn’t speak Greek and were, therefore, unrefined. A barbarian to them was an uncivilized person, or by our modern definition, a person lacking in moral or intellectual advancement - not humane, ethical, and reasonable.
But we still have our murders and rapists acting uncivilized. Five point four percent of the United States population is in jail. These people must be barbarians, right? Or maybe the white collar criminals aren’t because their crimes were committed in a civilized manner.
There is greater danger to our political system than bureaucracy – the power of corporations. As corporations consolidate and grow more international, their power widens. Inside the United States, they use lobbyists to influence legislation in ways that do not serve the public. Many corporations control vital industries which could be used as leverage points for power. Imagine, for example, the extortion possible by oil companies or electric utilities.
A corporation is a selfish thing; dedicated to its own survival and the survival of those who run it. Unchecked, corporations could gain so much influence over government they would be essentially controlling it. What would happen if we reached a point where corporations saw the government as The enemy rather than an ally? Look at our current economic situation. As the mortgage crisis unfolded, the U.S. government forced banks to take bailout money and live with government control, but the subsequent behavior by the banks was unanticipated by politicians who do not understand business. Rather than using security of government funding to relax their apprehension over loaning money, the banks did nothing. Most want to pay the government back quickly because they don’t want to burden of being told how to operate their businesses, and Congress is powerless to do anything about it. Is this a microcosm of a bigger corporate conspiracy? Only time will tell.

Trump Administration Directs Large-Scale Federal Layoffs
Federal agencies must develop plans to eliminate employee positions, according to a memo distributed by President Donald Trump 's administration that sets in motion what could become a sweeping realignment of American government.
The memo expands the Republican president's effort to downsize the federal workforce, which he has described as bloated and impediment to his agenda. Thousands of probationary employees have already been fired, and now his administration is turning its attention to career officials with civil service protection.
The Social Security tax was signed into law in 1983 by then-President Ronald Reagan with the intention of strengthening the program's trust fund.
The law allows up to 50% of a recipient's Social Security benefits to be taxed if that person's income falls between $25,000 and $34,000, and when the person's income is over $34,000, up to 85% of it can be taxed.
The Republican Party platform, approved last summer and written in part by Trump, prohibits cutting Social Security or Medicare and rules out hiking the age for retirement.
According to Gasparino, it isn't just companies like Facebook and X that rely on Section 230 to protect them from libel lawsuits and mountains of legal fees; Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple investors could also be impacted by Carr's move to undermine the provision, depending on how far he goes.
New media companies have argued that they are merely conduits of information and should not face the same liability that a traditional publisher would.
However, Gasparino's sources say that Carr believes social media sites operate in a very different landscape than the early days of the internet and regularly make editorial decisions.
Meta's Facebook, for example, censored speech that questioned the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines, as did Twitter, prior to Elon Musk's purchase of the platform.
As the top regulator of media, the FCC has the legal authority to interpret Section 230, and Carr could reportedly erode or dispense with the shield entirely by issuing an advisory opinion. The courts would then have to decide whether to use his guidance as they decide Section 230 cases.
An advisory opinion from Carr could also mean that defamation cases against Big Tech companies that would have previously been dismissed could move forward in the court system, potentially leading to settlements due to the high cost of litigation.
Trump made the announcement at the start of the first Cabinet meeting of his second term, hailing the deal as "a very big agreement."
The Republican president has long complained that the United States has spent too much taxpayer money to support Ukraine in the war with Russia that began when the Kremlin invaded three years ago. Trump has framed the emerging deal that would give the U.S. access to Ukraine's deposits of so-called rare earth minerals — used in the aerospace, defense and nuclear industries — as a chance for Kyiv to pay back the U.S. for aid already sent for the war effort under Democrat President Joe Biden.

But Trump, in announcing the meeting, was noncommittal about any coming American security guarantees.
"I'm not going to make security guarantees ... very much," Trump said. "We're going to have Europe do that."
He said a U.S. presence working on mineral extraction would amount to "automatic security because nobody's going to be messing around with our people when we're there."
"It's a great deal for Ukraine too, because they get us over there and we're going to be working over there," Trump said. "We will be on the land."
Since returning to office last month, Trump let Ukraine know that he wanted something in return for tens of billions of dollars in U.S. help for Ukraine. The White House has applied heavy pressure on Ukraine to grant American access to its vast reserves of the minerals.
"This agreement may either be a great success or quietly fade away," Zelenskyy said. "And I believe success depends on our conversation with President Trump."
"I want to coordinate with the U.S.," Zelenskyy said.
Trump has abruptly ditched some previous Washington policies. He scrapped efforts to isolate Russian President Vladimir Putin and cast doubt on U.S. support for its European allies. That has brought momentous geopolitical shifts that could reset the war's path this year.
Diplomats from Russia and the U.S. will meet Thursday in Istanbul to discuss the operation of their respective embassies in Moscow and Washington, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Wednesday.
Zelenskyy said he wants to discuss with Trump whether the U.S. plans to halt military aid and, if so, whether Ukraine would be able to purchase weapons directly from the U.S. He also wants to know whether Ukraine can use frozen Russian assets for the purchase of weapons and investments and whether Washington plans to lift sanctions on Russia.
The preliminary economic agreement also sets out the terms and conditions of an investment fund for the rebuilding of Ukraine, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Ernst and Rep. Michael Cloud, R-Texas, have written to President Donald Trump asking for a greater focus on the issue. The two told Trump the Biden administration "allowed federal employee unions to run wild, sticking taxpayers with the tab."

Baby Shower Celebration 🥘🍗
Storytime: I was contacted to make 60 pieces of sauced chicken for a surprise baby shower celebration.
🤔 I thought about how to pack the delicious sauced chicken to look presentable and professional and get it delivered. I knew I had no Buffet serving tray, so I had to improvise.
I used my biggest cake pan (22" by 16" by 3") as my serving tray 😃. I lined and covered it with aluminum foil and gently arranged the delicious garnished sauced chicken in the pan. Then I protected it with cling film first and aluminum foil second to seal up the pan.
It was so perfect and when the guests ate the delicious chicken, they were surprised, satisfied and looked for me to give their compliments and they all enjoyed the chicken and commented on the packaging too and that made my day.

Yeah, it's a good thing to stay out of debt. Those who use it to their advantage won't be in debt because it is assumed that they make more money and they are able to pay back, so it's just for a period of time.

The former contractor, Charles Littlejohn, pleaded guilty in October 2023 to unauthorized disclosure of tax returns and return information, and was sentenced in January 2024 to five years in prison, according to the Department of Justice. Littlejohn reportedly admitted to using the IRS archive to access the tax returns and leaked them to The New York Times and ProPublica.
"We're going to work on getting more and more details about this whole thing," he said. "But I think it's a reflection of the Biden Justice Department and what their priorities [were]. Remember, this is the same Justice Department [that couldn't] tell us who planted the pipe bombs on Jan. 6. The same Justice Department [couldn't] tell us who leaked the [Supreme Court] Dobbs opinion. Same Justice Department [that couldn't] even tell us who put cocaine at the White House.

Are We Barbarians? Do we think we’re better than the Romans?
I suppose if you asked someone to describe the difference between ourselves and the Romans they might answer, “They lived crude backward lives without modern conveniences” or “They were Barbarians. We’re not.” There is a tendency to think everything is better now; that human beings have progressed over the last two thousand years to a higher form – ruled by logic and not fists. I wonder if the “We’re not barbarians” comment is accurate.
I’m a fan of the Showtime series The Tudors, and have observed with curiosity the many beheadings shown in the episodes. I found it surprising that parents brought their children to these “events” held five hundred years ago. Wouldn’t we label this barbaric behavior? Why would a mother bring a child to witness a beheading, watching the head fly off and blood shoot all over? Is this any different from gladiators in the Coliseum?
The word barbarian comes from “baba”, the Greek term for speech they couldn’t understand, particularly those of the backward tribes to their north. To the Greeks, barbarians were people who didn’t speak Greek and were, therefore, unrefined. A barbarian to them was an uncivilized person, or by our modern definition, a person lacking in moral or intellectual advancement - not humane, ethical, and reasonable.
But we still have our murders and rapists acting uncivilized. Five point four percent of the United States population is in jail. These people must be barbarians, right? Or maybe the white collar criminals aren’t because their crimes were committed in a civilized manner.
There is greater danger to our political system than bureaucracy – the power of corporations. As corporations consolidate and grow more international, their power widens. Inside the United States, they use lobbyists to influence legislation in ways that do not serve the public. Many corporations control vital industries which could be used as leverage points for power. Imagine, for example, the extortion possible by oil companies or electric utilities.
A corporation is a selfish thing; dedicated to its own survival and the survival of those who run it. Unchecked, corporations could gain so much influence over government they would be essentially controlling it. What would happen if we reached a point where corporations saw the government as The enemy rather than an ally? Look at our current economic situation. As the mortgage crisis unfolded, the U.S. government forced banks to take bailout money and live with government control, but the subsequent behavior by the banks was unanticipated by politicians who do not understand business. Rather than using security of government funding to relax their apprehension over loaning money, the banks did nothing. Most want to pay the government back quickly because they don’t want to burden of being told how to operate their businesses, and Congress is powerless to do anything about it. Is this a microcosm of a bigger corporate conspiracy? Only time will tell.

Trump Administration Directs Large-Scale Federal Layoffs
Federal agencies must develop plans to eliminate employee positions, according to a memo distributed by President Donald Trump 's administration that sets in motion what could become a sweeping realignment of American government.
The memo expands the Republican president's effort to downsize the federal workforce, which he has described as bloated and impediment to his agenda. Thousands of probationary employees have already been fired, and now his administration is turning its attention to career officials with civil service protection.
The Social Security tax was signed into law in 1983 by then-President Ronald Reagan with the intention of strengthening the program's trust fund.
The law allows up to 50% of a recipient's Social Security benefits to be taxed if that person's income falls between $25,000 and $34,000, and when the person's income is over $34,000, up to 85% of it can be taxed.
The Republican Party platform, approved last summer and written in part by Trump, prohibits cutting Social Security or Medicare and rules out hiking the age for retirement.
According to Gasparino, it isn't just companies like Facebook and X that rely on Section 230 to protect them from libel lawsuits and mountains of legal fees; Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple investors could also be impacted by Carr's move to undermine the provision, depending on how far he goes.
New media companies have argued that they are merely conduits of information and should not face the same liability that a traditional publisher would.
However, Gasparino's sources say that Carr believes social media sites operate in a very different landscape than the early days of the internet and regularly make editorial decisions.
Meta's Facebook, for example, censored speech that questioned the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines, as did Twitter, prior to Elon Musk's purchase of the platform.
As the top regulator of media, the FCC has the legal authority to interpret Section 230, and Carr could reportedly erode or dispense with the shield entirely by issuing an advisory opinion. The courts would then have to decide whether to use his guidance as they decide Section 230 cases.
An advisory opinion from Carr could also mean that defamation cases against Big Tech companies that would have previously been dismissed could move forward in the court system, potentially leading to settlements due to the high cost of litigation.

"I'm not going to make security guarantees ... very much," Trump said. "We're going to have Europe do that."
He said a U.S. presence working on mineral extraction would amount to "automatic security because nobody's going to be messing around with our people when we're there."
"It's a great deal for Ukraine too, because they get us over there and we're going to be working over there," Trump said. "We will be on the land."
Since returning to office last month, Trump let Ukraine know that he wanted something in return for tens of billions of dollars in U.S. help for Ukraine. The White House has applied heavy pressure on Ukraine to grant American access to its vast reserves of the minerals.
"This agreement may either be a great success or quietly fade away," Zelenskyy said. "And I believe success depends on our conversation with President Trump."
"I want to coordinate with the U.S.," Zelenskyy said.
Trump has abruptly ditched some previous Washington policies. He scrapped efforts to isolate Russian President Vladimir Putin and cast doubt on U.S. support for its European allies. That has brought momentous geopolitical shifts that could reset the war's path this year.
